@Ether Thanks. I was actually thinking about more thoughtful observation rather than traditional technique actually. How long have you been doing that for? As in, have you decided to commit to thought observation in sitting meditation sessions forever now? Or did you do other practices beforehand? @Shin Thanks! So basically a technique doesn't matter, just so long as you're being conscious. Is observing thoughts just a method of being conscious? @Nahm Wow, thanks. I will get reading that now! Should clear things up. Edit: Just read it. Thanks Man! -
@Leo Gura Why is a rectal method more effective? I've never done any psychs so putting them in your ass is obviously a bit of an odd concept for me Also, in saying that 5-meo is the only psychedelic you need, would it be wise for a beginner to psychedelics start with very very low doses of it and over time build up to bigger ones? Or would you say that trying shrooms or perhaps LSD in decent doses is still important to the beginner? I'm just thinking it would save a lot of time if 5meo was 'the only real psychedelic you need'. Thanks, Rowan

@Slade Not blowing my own trumpet or anything but I’ve noticed I’ve started to have that effect when I walk in a room. I think it comes down to a few things: 1) You obviously wanna smile and be friendly to all in the room, don’t do a hard nosed stone cold executive style entrance or you’ll just look uptight. But I think I remember reading some of your posts and because of your Life Purpose I don’t think you’ll struggle with that 2) Putting effort into physical appearance (might sound shallow but I still do it), just helps to catch peoples eyes initially and also helps that confidence. Try say/do something if you notice you’ve got a lot of people’s eyes suddenly, not sure if you’re in England but we do a weird little head nod, smile and ‘hey’ ? I guess small body language rules change from culture to culture, I’m at a uni and I think all the Chinese students don’t really get the whole head nod thing, or quickly saying ‘alright’ whilst passing by someone you know, again, probably just an English thing ? 3) I’ve found meditation has gotten rid of a lot of my nerves and fear of embarrassment and the like, so I can walk in a room tall, energetic, light hearted and ready to embarrass myself if i need. If you’re not prepared to laugh at yourself in any given situation I think you’ll just be too uptight and people will think you’re a bit odd. If you’re doing some group activity don’t be shy, bring all your energy to it and again embarrass yourself if you need to. At this point I can ‘embarass’ Myself without really feeling embarrassed. I think what it comes down to is energy, if you’re groggy and didn’t have breakfast one day you’ll probably just float through a crowd, whereas if you’re full of energy (and different kinds of energy) then I think people will naturally be drawn to you and you’ll have that prescense. Sorry if this was a bit long Best of luck, Rowan

Hey there everyone, I've been doing a little reading around psychedelics recently, read 'Food of the Gods' and been browsing Reddit around the topic. Just wanted to know what I should do to get started; 1) Take the time to learn how to grow P.Cubensis myself (as a lot of people on Reddit seem to do) or 2) As I'm in the U.K, do I take the time to learn how to identify wild P.semilanceata (Liberty Caps) I guess option 1 is more common and a lot more advice available on Reddit and Shroomery. Option 2 is free, and if I specialize in finding just that variety I shouldn't really have a problem. However, I believe they're limited to growing at a certain season. If you have a solid plan I see no reason why dropping out is a bad thing. I’m a 2nd year at uni, I’m not sure if my current subject I’m studying will be the main aspect of my life Purpose (I’m doing the course currently). Many would say you should stick it out and just get the degree, but to be fair if you’ve got a solid plan and you know how to successfully execute it, then I hope it goes exceptionally well for you. The value of degrees is going down yes, but many employers prefer to see one than not. That being said if you’re starting our own business, it doesn’t matter! Hope it works out for you Rowan

Yeah, no matter how much you don’t go on social media, you’ll NEED them to build a brand. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube you should all have an account on. If not you’re really making massive losses for such an easy thing to do. Ensure you have a high quality website too, wordpress style ones are the most well received these days. Keep it clean and simple. Cheers, Rowan

Thanks for the advice guys. Yep I’m about half way through mastery right now.

Can anyone give me some pointers as to when you are taking personal development too seriously, and how to be balanced when doing personal development? When should we let things breathe a little?

@Slade Thank you. Sometimes I feel like my daily self-improvement habits make each day repetitive and boring, but at the same time, I don't want to start backsliding. So I'm not sure. I'm definitely not grinding to depression but obviously, I'm doing more work than most around me right now. Ultimately its dependant on my unique situation. Thanks though!

Thank you so much, really appreciate you taking the time

@Leo Gura Is the LP course available forever after purchase? I know it is streamed on the website but what if the website fails and crashes one day? What if Actualized.org stopped operating? There doesn’t seem to be a Way to keep the course forever. Would I have to just screen-record it? All the best, Rowan

I'm a musician too, what helps me sometimes is to think of how much competition you will burn by transcending all the negative talk of people around you. How many other would be musicians in your marketplace have been thrown off the path by people saying "you'll never make it in music"? The more obstacles you overcome, the more competition you burn, the more likely you are to succeed

I first read about it in the 4 hour work week. Basically, an Italian economist found patterns within nature and life that suggested that 80% of results come from 20% of the effort, and the last 20% of the results come from 80% of the effort.

Sounds like you would benefit from the NoFap movement/practice. Also, how many personal development practices do you have in your life? What things do you do every day? I think daily meditation affirmations and visualizations for personal power would help you a lot. You may also just be going through a rough patch.

Hi everyone, So I’ve watched and taken notes on each of Leo’s videos up to his Life Purpose course Advert/promo video. I’m going to be getting myself the course to start on the 1st January (cool new years resolution right?) In the time being, I’m wondering if there are any videos AFTER the Life Purpose Advert one that would be very beneficial to watch and take notes on which would stand me in good stead before taking the course? Thank you very much, hope everyone is having an excellent Christmas Time if you celebrate!
-
Just wanted to say merry Christmas to all those who celebrate This forum Is a great resource for self improvement and just wanted to say thanks to everyone. Has everyone got their new year resolutions written down? I will start the Life Purpose Course and intend to work it hard as I have more spare time than a lot of the population. I will be upping my meditation from 30 mins to 1 Hour a day, with 15 mins self inquiry on top, which I’m excited to do. I think it’s good to stick to one or two main goals rather than a list of ideal goals, I’ve learned that from previous years

Am I allowed to bump? Sorry if I can’t!

@aurum Cool, definitely will watch that one. Thanks!

As a student at uni in the UK who isn't sure if he wants to go into the sector his degree is related to after Uni, I know what I'm getting myself for Christmas this year I feel like I'm in a great position to start the course and I really intend to work it HARD. Being a student I do have more spare time than most of the population (currently that goes on general personal development stuff so I'm making the most of the time).

I'd like to hear Leo's thoughts on Chakras, as I noticed he mentioned them in his Blog's post about Yoga. I am fairly open-minded about the 'spiritual' content on actualized, but Chakras, whilst I can logically understand them (where they are, what each one is called) it just seems a bit out there. So, Chakras, bullshit or not?

I was thinking the same recently. I havnt done the Life Purpose course yet which I really want to, and I was wondering if micrododing whilst doing the course would give more accurate genuine asnswers and ultimately better uncover your life purpose. I cant say though, cause I havnt done any psych yet either ?

Hi there, Does anyone recommend any particularly good books on Psilocybin Mushrooms. A general guide, something of a background research tool into the psychedelics. I don't know which book to get: Food of The Gods (Terrence Mckenna) The Psychedelic Explorers Guide (James Fadiman) Decomposing the shadow: Lessons from the psilocybin mushrooms (James W. Jesso Can anyone recommend me anything? Thanks! Rowan
