  1. @Gabriel Antonio UPDATE: Its been a week now since the Ice Age started for me. It already gets easier and easier I must say. The first day I just stood there hesitating for 3 minutes. Now, its relatively easy. Normally I would do a 15/20 minute hot shower session, now its 5. Ice cold. Fucking mountain water. Love it. The shock somehow gives relief (rip ego?) My body also starts itching, right after I'm finished showering, just as @DoubleYou mentioned. Part of the deal I guess! Tnx again my friend <3
  2. There is a good reason why people live in caves. To be more direct to you: Yes, shut up and sit.
  3. @Max_VIn my experience it doesn't really mather whether you ask the question in your native language (for me it's Dutch too ) or in English. It's basically the same message. Only different words. Just try what works best for you. When I build up enough focus/concentration I automatically tend to ask the questions in Dutch, instead of English.
  4. I almost literally quoted Peter Ralston there, but okay Of course a small exercise doesn't give a full blown not-knowing enlightenment experience. It takes so much more effort than that. You need to really inquire, contemplate and question very very deeply to experience it. And yes, this takes openness and brute (self) honesty, just as @Space mentioned. And as described in the book, it is a very hard and time consuming thing to do. You have to really invest your time in it. No bullshit stories I highly recommend this book if you are serious. Maybe Ralston can convince you. "'The book of not knowing'' by Peter Ralston
  5. Self honesty. Brute self honesty. Do you really know what you are, who you are, what the universe is, what life is, what excistence is, what will happen after you die, what a cow looks like from the inside? Propably not. Neither do I. Question all your beliefs. I mean, do you really know experientially that the earth is a globe? Look into your direct experience now. Is it round? No bullshit. Be really honest with yourself.
  6. Awesome story mate! Congrats Have you seen something similar to a silver cord attached to your body? This is a common thing in astral projection. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_cord I have had lucid dreams in the past before and they felt so real and alive, just as you said. I performed reality checks to check if it was really a dream. Putting my index finger through the palm of my other hand for example. For some reason I always succesfully fly when ludid dreaming Interesting to read about the meditative state and the feeling of "union". I can really relate to this, while lucid dreaming and meditating. You sort of become one with your breath and every sensation in your body. Forcing it breaks me out of it tho. Thanks for posting this. It got me inspired to try it myself. The only thing is, is that I fail at visualizing Maybe more practice will do the trick.
  7. Exactly what I thought man! This was just a surface level experience. It did not feel like infinity. I did not expand into nothingness itself so to speak. Good to hear it's in the right direction, tho, thanks
  8. Hey guys! About 30 minutes into my meditation something cool happened. I became aware of "time" (how long I was meditating). Then I realised that my mind created this thought, because it didn't want to focus on meditation. My "mind" was only a thought. Something that I have created. Therefore time is just thought. Eureka! Later I asked myself: what am I if the body is finite? What is there in my body, that is infinite and will excist after the body dies? A few seconds went by and then boom: AWARENESS. It is awareness (of my body) that survives. It is awareness that is aware of everything, DUHH! My focus vanished. There was just awareness. It's weird to even call it awareness. It's just a word. The mind only recognized "it" and labeled it awareness. Oh mind, stop it you! I then had a random thought about a girl I just met, and I became aware that awareness was aware of the thought. I smiled. Then I opened my eyes and looked at some clothes in front of me. I realised: awareness is aware of sight! It seemed so damn obvious! It really felt like the most simple thing in the world. This went on for about 10 seconds. But yea, the ego won for posting this insight. I need a Zen stick. Back to staring at the wall now.
  9. Sounds like an awesome experience to me! A scary one, but awesome The fact that focussing on symbols in the 3th eye could have such an effect is pretty amazing imo.
  10. To be honest with you man, I have no clue what causes it. I haven't researched it properly to fully understand. I just accepted it, really. I let whatever happens, happen. I guess it all has to to with the fact that we raise our awareness in the waking state, and therefore we become more conscious in our dream state. But all this is just speculation, don't take my word for it And for the high pitch sound, if I can recall, it sounded indeed like e very strong buzzing sound. It increased in pitch and volume. So this happened only at the "transition" from waking state to dream state.
  11. Yep. Be preparer for some weird stuff. I have also gone through some crazy dreams, where I could easily switch between the "me in the dream" and "the one who is dreaming". Some very high pitched noises came up, that kept increasing in volume. Almost blew my brains out, lol. The voice and presence next to your bed sounds like sleep paralysis, or something similar. Look it up. But don't worry man, you're okay. In the end, they're just dreams. It' a phase you're going through.
  12. Man, this got me inspired! Actually took a cold ass shower the moment I read your post. And man, what a terrible experience.. took me 5 minutes to get out, lol. My whole body starter shaking. Tried all the superpower - mindfull - breathing excersises. But somehow it felt great challenging the ego. I will be doing this more in the future for sure, many thanks!
  13. Try to stop questioning everything for a moment. Really, calm down. Quite your mind first, meditate. You don't have to understand everything. Be okay with unknowing. Drop every idea you have about enlightenment, suffering, shadow work etc. Just sit and shut up. There comes a point when there are no questions left.
  14. You have to become aware that your Ego wants to hold you back. It doesn't want to get fit, it wants to be a lazy twat and do nothing. It only wants to get you down. And so it creates these negative thoughts. It wants to consume you. And you buy into it. F*CK these thoughts man! They are not real. Illusions. Don't assign meaning to them. Focus on the actual workout and lifting rather than fake mental magic spells. Peace!
  15. Because it's infinite, and cookies are finite
  16. Really contemplate these questions and you'll find out mate! But first: - What is "awareness"? - What is "mind"? - What is "absolute noting"?
  17. Try to get rid of the games you are addicted to. Make it harder to easily access them. It's hard, but it worked for me. As Leo once said: "Always do what's emotionally most difficult". NO EXCUSES!
  18. The belief that I am the body.
  19. Thought is thought. Everyting else is monkey mind.
  20. It's thought. Try not to DO anything. Let it be. Be present. You can't outplay the mind by telling it what to do. Tye open eye meditation if the fear remains.
  21. Just a simple Leo video on Youtube got me motivated! Now books, meditation, inquiry and more videos. "Behind the curtain of everyday consciousness Is hidden another, unutterably strange, mental universe"
  22. Hi all! Lately I've been having some wild "spiritual" dreams. This one night I dreamt about me following a forest path. The path ended in an open field, still surrounded by trees and nature. I remember saying "yes" to myself, in a very peaceful way. I lay on the ground with my arms and legs spread open. I felt my whole being become one with nature. Wherever I was, this relaxed state was present. Everything was all right. I remember waking up thinking "what the fuck have I just seen?". Now my experience tells me dreams are created through the sub conscious mind. They appear because my mind is processing these things, even when I'm unaware of it. But this could well be "een broodje aap verhaal" (a "bullshit story" in Dutch). What are your thoughts on this?
  23. @Dodo Sound like an awesome experience, man. You dream the dream and therefore you become the dream. Interesting! But then: when we drink vitamine water, do we become the vitamine water? @starsofclay Nice. Thanks for your input! Good questions to contemplate. I feel like I really don't know, so this could be something to dig in. @Nahm When I look at the content of my dreams, it is somehow linked with things that keep me "busy" during the day. But if this is due to the sub conscious mind, I really don't know. It feels weird to talk about "sub conscious mind" and "dreams" while I really have no clue what they mean lol. Thanks for making me question myself
