  1. https://www.quora.com/Yoga-How-has-Kriya-yoga-affected-your-life look at the first answer of achintya idam, a pretty interesting look on kriya yoga.
  2. @7thLetter I think he got rid of it by going to a psychologist, which means that's probably the "mastering psychology" part. yeah, I get what you say, enlightenment is different than mastering your psychology. wow man you opened my eyes that I should read more psychology books, to understand myself better! i too struggled with the problem of "should i force myself" and also came to the conclusion that doing things come naturally as consciousness increases, but then i backtracked that i still should force myself sometimes. the right answer is indeed "balance", but the most important part is wisdom, knowing your psychology.
  3. I agree only partly, because habits are a thing. even if youre very conscious you can still have habits that make you do low consciousness behavior, take for example shinzen young, an enlightened master who was addicted to marijuana after he was enlightened.
  4. the audio isnt working and the download says "network error" edit: its ok
  5. wow man, those sounds bore the hell out of me, im not as bored in regular breath awareness
  6. I think something that might help is getting more theory in yourself. read books i.e. Jed Mckenna, watch youtube videos i.e. Alan watts. you lack wisdom, therefore you identify with the mind. theory will lessen your identification with the mind, enabling you to sit for longer. pure force doesnt work, the path is carved more by wisdom, not discipline. p.s. thats the point of strong determination, watch videos of shinzen young if u havent already edit: sorry if i offended you, wrote on the tip of my mind
  7. it's already the case that no one is doing anything, "you" just dont realize it, in other word to say it, there is no realization in "your" consciousness that no one is doing anything.
  8. ignorance prevents you from being liberated. distinguish "love" and attachment". if you truly love people you wont be attached. however, thats probably not the case. the left option is attachment, which is ignorance. look at what that attachment really is. edit: @eputkonen lol saying the same at the same time
  9. going after fame and money not ouf of a place of lack is utterly improbable in my opinion.
  10. Probably, he could have an intellectual understanding, but he was actually deeply connected with his ego, he wanted fame, money, etc.
  11. why do you want to make a business? why do you have sex? why do you want success? for some future gain. you will never "arrive", the only arrival is the arrival to the grave. no matter how much you succeed and have sex and all that stuff you will want more, you will never be satisfied. you will always chase your tail for some ideas such as "happiness" or "being rich" "having a successful business" whatever, but those ideas are in your head, what you expect them to give you will never be delivered. if you achieve some great deed in the world all the impact you had will not matter in 100 years. the only solution is to let go of these ideas, illusions, being aware of them, and not pursuing the future and realizing now is all there is, thats how you become truly fulfilled (that is not to say you dont plan for the future). meditation forces you to be in the now, without past or future, just for this moment's sake, enjoying the present moment, without it giving anything to you. thats why we live. what meditation also does is it makes you more aware of the ideas you hold about the world, it detaches you from the self, because you become just the observer, which means you will see more clearly whats illusory and what's not, making it easier to live in the now. slowly convincing you that there is only now. thats the most important undertaking a human can take on himself. i recommend a lot to watch youtube videos of alan watts. there are tons of them and they are really good. it will slowly open your mind and you will see more clearly whats all this about. start with this one
  12. its easier to cut contact with those friends than to cut cocaine. listen to your gut, but I would cut the connection with those people for my whole life, people that do cocaine probably cant offer too much value to you anyway. im addicted to masturbation, im always telling myself this is the last time, but its not, im always convincing myself to masturbate for some reason i come up with. i have no damn clue how to stop it, besides improving my life. most addictions come from a feeling of lack. or that or habit. since its not a habit for you its a feeling of lack. youre not fulfilled so the cocaine makes you feel better. if you would be high without it you wouldnt want to do it. work on yourself, get enlightened, do psychedelics and you wont need that stuff.
  13. isnt sungazing extremely dangerous and can cause blindness?
  14. lol, its like we're discussing whats the most effective way to kill yourself, its kinda funny, i dunno
  15. if my body is made out of water, doesnt mean it forms these patterns, because what forms these patterns is the collective water fluid. inside our bodies the water is not connected like that, its not like there are packets of water inside us, its spread out throught the body, separate, therefore it cant form these patterns. what can happen is maybe the skin/bones/organs might vibrate with certain frequencies, but water has nothing to do with it. and although these patterns are really beautiful (i actually studied mathematically how they form, also mathematically its beautiful) and although the math in nature is beautiful indeed and shows certain intelligence in the universe, I dont see how sound can make some changes in me. I will try it out though, if we cant explain it doesnt mean it doesnt work
  16. @Dodo lol realized its not the point to listen while doing homework, im a bit fuzzy lately, sorry
  17. @Dodo ill try it while doing homework or something like that. u said sound affects water, how so? and how that effect affects me?
  18. @Dodo should i blast it full volume? it was pretty loud anf i still got lost
  19. @Dodo i tried it and i was lost in thought thw entire time. tried to center myself but found myself getting more and more bored so i stopped at 15 min
  20. for how much time do you usually meditate to enter the meditative state with this music?
