  1. Download the adobe products that way you're building the right toolkit from the start. There are thousands of tutorials online... I do actually recommend searching online for what you want to focus on and actually buying a good book on it. It will save you a lot of hours seeing the same things in different tutorials. My personal booklist on this stuff: Drawing: Finish the learn drawing in 30 days book Graphic design: Read: the Mollybang book, Finish all the 50 tutorials on the site, Read: Color and Light, A Guide for the Realist Painter Read: Dream Worlds, Production Design for Animation Read: How to Draw: Drawing and sketching objects and environments from your imagination Read: Interaction of Color Adobe: Read: AI classroom in a book Read: Vector Basic Training Animation: Read: Animated Storytelling by Liz Blazer Read: Design for Motion Read: Moving Image Workshop Read: AE classroom in a book Read: Creative Motion Graphic Titling for Film, Video, and the Web Read: Motion Graphics: Principles and Practices from the Ground Up (Theory Only) Read: Transforming Type: New Directions in Kinetic Typography (Theory Only) Read: Motion Graphics in Branding Read: The Animator's Survival Kit Read: Creating Motion Graphics with After Effects (Out Dated) Read: Motion Graphic Design: Applied History and Aesthetics
  2. @Equanimitize @Harikrishnan Thank you both for the support!
  3. Yhea, it's like driving through the city and thing who the fuck lives behind each and every one of those window in that building. Now you can actually see the people.
  4. Consider me a lucky person then lol Online dating can be great you can filter on a high volume of people, you just have to show in your profile what kind of person you are, this filters a lot of unwanted people away. Plus you got to work on your text game, don't be like all the others.
  5. How about running coach Programming is great because you can just learn it from your room and don't really need anybody from the outside world. Plus it's in high demand.
  6. This is so funny, I have the same thing with my friends. I'll just have to trust that when I'm 40 and chilling and their still finding the shit out I'm already learning right now lol. Sounds like the guy gets his esteem from putting other people down or playing it cool plus you're putting the halo effect on him. Realize it's just a mask he puts on. I act the same way towards a lot of girls because it works to some extent but it's not really authentic and that's a problem in the long term. Also about that time thing, keep this up and you will be at the top of your field, what I always tell myself: "You are fine with a education in computer science of 4 years but you want to be able to switch to your life purpose within a couple of months? This is gonna take some time and it wont be as socially acceptable as a nice collage degree, but this is what you have to do."
  7. I found mine too, I think it has been about 2 years now. Just like @kieranperez said it more about your ambitions. I think about half a year ago I finally decided to go all in on animation and motion design. It's really tricky and weird because everybody around you is just living a normal life and your trying to change the world in some way lol. But realize that everybody is just running on autopilot and don't really think about this stuff. Don't get sucked into their frame of mind. I know if I did it would mentally destroy me. The main obstacle to true mastery is social conditioning and expectations, you got to do you, fuck the others. That is what I tell myself lol. Once you got this thing going and you are fully aligned you are able to deepen your connection to the thing your doing. Slowly I'm realizing how powerful such a connection with your craft can be and you can get a lot of satisfaction from it, but you have to go through the initial rough years. On the other side focus on how much money your spending, invest and try to lower your living costs. In this way you could be able to switch to full time music faster. For me I'm able to do some freelancing video's for companies that are able to support me but in music I guess really have to build a audience. In the end I also just want to be able to independently create movies without people telling me what to do but that takes time. The phrase that I always tell myself: "You are fine with a education in computer science of 4 years but you want to be able to switch to your life purpose within a couple of months? This is gonna take some time and it wont be as socially acceptable as a nice collage degree, but this is what you have to do."
  8. Hey, I also made a counter intuitive move. I'm currently in the process of switching from programming to motion design. It is lower paying and everybody is asking why but I didn't really feel like I had a choice once I knew I would be miserable in a office working with numbers. I will finish my study because it is only one more year and that little paper may give me more opportunity in the future but I don't really think it is necessary. When you are able to show you can offer immense value, people will come. I have no degree or anything and I'm already earning money with making video's for companies so just keep at it man! Good luck!
  9. I had Leonardo Da Vinci, read up on him he is amazing! I think I also had Walt Disney and another film maker from my industry. I was mainly looking for people within my industry who I admired and wanted to be like.
  10. Improvement Pill uses VideoScribe. https://www.videoscribe.co/en/ The other guy has a camera above a white board and draws it himself. I use Adobe Illustrator, After Effects and Premier
  11. Everyday list 3 things that you are doing that are positively effecting your life. This will build a more positive self-image of yourself this in turn will make you more assured of yourself and gives you a basis to act more assertive. If you think you're a piece of shit you will be unable to sustainably act like your not one. I recommend reading: The Six Pillars Of Self-Esteem and Psycho-Cybernetics.
  12. The book of not knowing is a big thing to get through, not really easy. Very important but not easy. "Our inner ape" is a fun read. "Psycho-Cybernetics" is great if you want more practical stuff. "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius is a great philosophical one. easier than the book of not knowing.
  13. The moment you feel like you should tell somebody something but hold it back is the moment you break your authenticity. That is what I have experienced. The closer you get to people the more your should open up. Oversharing is a thing too, that is where social intelligence comes in. But telling your crush you like them, telling the people you live with you consume psychedelics sometimes, telling people you are close with what you do when nobody is around, these things should be told at some point in my opinion. A great book recommendation is Radical Honesty by Brad Blanton. I made a video about it if you're interested.
  14. The book goes into detail about how your beliefs, imagination, body and mind are used to reach goals and how to create change with them. The book is really practical and contains a lot of exercises which are very effective. I made a video about the main points of the book. Check it out if you're interested.
  15. I tried a new video style, I think it is quite nice. If you liked the book Psycho-Cybernetics go watch the video
  16. Current Stage: Orange. Impact Statement: Create applications that re-align people with their deepest truths. Top 3 Value's: 1. Courage 2. Personal Growth 3. Independence Habits: 6'o clock dayz (w. morning routine) Meditation (20 min) Gym (Mon, Wen, Fri) Goals: Create online business Welcome to my actualization journal. So here's the deal, I have a big summer vacation before me and a lot of free time. So I'm going to focus myself on setting up some habits and reaching some goals this summer. Every day I color the habits green for the one's that are completed red for the one's that failed. After I completed 7 days straight green I add a habit. Today I woke up at 10 o'clock and prepared some things for my business (Bought some wood glue and prepared things for tomorrow). After that I wrote a little bit in my other topic about my reading insights. Then I watched Leo's video about awareness, went to the gym with my buddy's and ate. After my dinner I made a profile on UpWork to maybe make some money online with my video editing skills. Tomorrow I'm going to make a product for my business. - The Dude
  17. https://www.bookdepository.com/ This one is great.
  18. If you really play out stage orange to the bone you have two options: 1. Have a paradigm shift into stage green. (Heavy emotional work) 2. Commit suicide. Study the traps of stage orange. They leave you empty on the inside, while you may have the whole world at your feet on the outside. *This post is exaggerated but you get the gist lol*
  19. The way it should be. vs The way it actually is. You aint gonna win that battle. Stop trying to manipulate reality, these people are perfectly imperfect and so are you. A combination of upbringing, genetics and 100.000 other factors made them the way they are and if you had these same factors you would behave the same.
  20. Felt like sharing this poddo. Really opened my eyes to the potential dark sides of psychedelics that don't get a lot of attention.
  21. Beware of homeostasis... If you try to shift gears too quickly you will probably fall back into old behavior.
  22. Look into Gary Vaynerchuk, just read his books. The video's he produces have sporadic value but is more just hype. But def read his books.
  23. I did the course in 1 month. and return to it a lot, to do exercises again and re-align.
