Leo talked about how the news anchors are just survival machines like the rest of us. They want to defend the status quo because the status quo are the ones who put them in power and give them their massive amounts of wealth and all the luxuries that go with it. So their political agenda is that which can make them money but disguised as being the truth. Heres an example of a MSNBC news anchor doing this:

So there is a general election coming up in December and i would like to use this thread to help me get a better understanding of what's happening in the UK especially from a conscious point of view as I am a bit out of the loop on UK politics but would like to vote. I have been following some very good USA political youtubers like democracy now, the majority report, secular talk and rational national but they all cover US politics does anyone know similar youtubers for the UK? Would you say that Jeremy Corbyn is the Bernie Sanders of the UK? Is he at the same level of consciousness and has similar policies? It seems that democrats and labour are very similar and conservatives and republicans are similar. The difference being that Trump doesn't have to answer to anyone where as in The Houses of Parliament Boris Johnson is always been test by opposition like Jeremy Corbyn from the Labour party.

So vote labour, green party or Lib Dem? It seems Corbyn and Sanders are very comparable but not sure to the level Corbyn wants to take take on the elites in the same way Sanders does and put an end to corruption and bring more transparency. -
So this video i think is one of his best. However a few things that came up for me in this video that i would like help in solving. 1) It made me realise that i have been following Leo quite blindly by doing meditation, Kriya Yoga and magic mushrooms in search for the truth. I havent given each avenue equal opportunity in my search for the truth like religion, science, etc. I feel this is because of how in previous actualized videos the emphasis has been more on the practices which will help you find truth and giving snipets of truth rather than devising and epistemological process of finding truth. It would have been nice to see this video 3 years ago at the start of my journey. So do i continue doing these practices or start looking for the space unicorn? (i think that was the term used). 2) Isn't it wise to go down avenues that others have seemed to have success with even if you can't take them on as a dogma until realised. Leo talked about having equal open mindedness and skepticism for witchcraft as for any other method for finding truth like 5meo dmt. But if by reading trip reports and gathering evidence it seems 5meo is a more effective way of accessing truth wouldnt it be wiser to not treat these equally and go for these rather than looking for space unicorns or doing witchcraft? I understand what is being pointed to, to basically be open minded to all things but i could waste 50 years doing voodoo and witchcraft. I know you are going to say how do you know? But i would counter this with empirical evidence to which you will say that is heresay. But I think it seems wiser to go with things that seem more likely to save time and not get lost. 3) If all you can have is direct experience of something that doesn't mean to say science is wrong just that you haven't got direct experience of it. You wouldn't be able to do all the science in your lifetime to discover the "truths" that have been found. So maybe there is a biased towards direct experience being the truth because thats all you have to play with. Most people dont have access to massive telescopes able to see milky ways or microscopes to see the molecular level of existence.

He has had his new book translated and PDF's sent to stage blue countries like the middle east. Moving them up the spiral from blue to orange is a good thing surely? -

It seems his main problem is self deception right? But if he has mental health issues that's another kettle of fish. He was depressed and then got into meditation, he went an hour without though having many mystical experiences and always ended up back in a mental clinic. I wonder how much all this was down to enlightenment vs having severe depression prior to starting his spiritual journey. -

this is possibly the craziest story i've ever heard -
I feel like it's just semantics and they are actually the same thing. Sam Harris talks about the separation being not wanting to throw the baby out with the bath water and keeping the best parts of Religion to make it Spirituality but as we have leant in the recent corruption video Religion/ Spirituality corrupts through lack of sovereignty as people just do what Leo calls the telephone line passing the information down from generation to generation each generation corrupting it a little more and most without doing hardcore practices so in this way spirituality and religion are the same. From a Spiral perspective i was originally inclined to say religion is more stage blue however that's not true as there are some stage yellow, turquoise religious practitioners. It's not the belief in deities as Buddhism is a religion and is deity free therefore i think the 2 words are mutually exclusive. Thoughts?

Not that they are closely related topics but what they stand for. I have friends who think they are a long way apart hence why i asked this question and feel i have more clarification on the matter now. -

Yea i agree. It's just the labelling tends to polarise and make many people unaware how similar they are. -

It's like all countries have different levels of corruption but we still call them countries. I don't see why we need different words other than for pedestaling purposes. -
andyjohnsonman replied to andyjohnsonman's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
So its the same thing then it's just a question of time. Eventually all spiritual teachings will be corrupted and turned into religion just as all original teachings were spiritual messages that turned into religion. The only difference is how far away they are from the original source. So we could just call it the same thing and just measure their levels of corruption as they are all corrupt in someway anyway. -

In Zen the teacher talks in riddles as to not fill the minds of practitioners with unnecessary dogmas and can focus on understanding the nature of reality through direct experience. -
andyjohnsonman replied to andyjohnsonman's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
But saying that would infer that all religious people are dogmatic and without any undertaking and investigation into the nature of reality for themselves which if you have been to a Zen Monastery would immediately be discounted. I think they are the same and it's actually about the person who practices it not the religion/spirituality itself. -
andyjohnsonman replied to andyjohnsonman's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
But i think these are how the original religious teachings were displayed to undertake an investigation into the nature of reality and yourself. However they were corrupted due to the way most human minds work wanting to give up their sovereignty to an outside authority in the same way as how most spiritual teaching will also eventually end up. -

I also think it could be an ego game where people think they are above religion by calling themselves "spiritual". All the traps that are present in religion are just as present in spirituality and at this point think it's just using different words to point to the same thing. however I see many spiritual people getting triggered when being called religious. -
Im curious what people think of this from a conscious politics standpoint. It seems to me like a display of propaganda, pageantry power, nationalism and fear. Keep yourselves in order and follow the regime or else. We have extortionate amounts of power so you can trust us to protect you. I feel it's also a display to the outside world not to mess with them. It seems very stage red/blue. I really feel that a country like china needs an authoritarian figure to hold the country together especially with what happened in Tianamen Square in the past so they need this to control such a large population. The problem is this is complete control by fear and i would have much preferred to see a 70th anniversary showing all the wonders of China like their love for Calligraphy, Tai Chi and drinking Pu'er tea in tea houses.

yes i generally take 2g dried and always pass out but the boundary between asleep and awake usually gets transcended so it makes no difference. -
In my direct experience it seems to be that the more the light is shone on my ego the more painful it becomes that I can be like this to the point where it doesn't seem beneficial for my well being to continue thinking in this way as it is hurting to think like this. This week I went on holiday with some friends and reflecting on some of the separating thoughts I had like being jealous of a friend for being much more sociable than me started to make my body tense up to the point where it wouldn't be wise to hold on to these thoughts and they must be let go of. Is this generally how raising your consciousness works by feeling the pain and being aware that it doesn't serve you and needs to be let go of with a re-framing of how you think about things or is it more about the constant light that can be shone on things or do they go hand in hand?

Yea fair point because a stage blue person can still be highly conscious and even enlightened right. The difference between growing up and waking up. -

I agree it's not about labels and as Leo states the map is not the territory, but still models can be useful for navigating the relative world. It's like when I was travelling last week and we were all waiting for this hippie to who was late to get on the boat. He kept saying time is just a concept to excuse him for being late, maybe so but it's something we have all agreed upon so get to the boat on time so we dont all have to wait for you. Regardless if these are just labels there are definitely traditional qualities that a good majority of Chinese have which for me would create conflict in a long term relationship. The world of spirituality and self improvement is so full of people thinking that because they are interested in this stuff they need to be perfect. The reality is that we aren't and thats why we like this stuff. At the end of the day i'm not Lao zi and need someone more relatable to me to aid my thinking not bring it down. It's like that saying you are the sum of the people you spend the most time with, if i spend so much time with low consciousness it could affect my thinking.
