I AM THE HAPPIEST PERSON ON EARTH RIGHT NOW ! You're absolutely 100% completely RIGHT ! We do create our own suffering !!!! The ego needs to sustain itself, it needs to survive. Suffering is a means that it uses to make it move away from stuff that could kill it. And this is also why low-conscious people who start out doing personal development use it to solve their problems. And then we raise our awareness, real growth occurs, and the problem simply becomes a non-issue. Truth dissolves all suffering.

@Yukise99 Aaaah, the rite of passage : Taking 100% Responsibility for your Entire Life ! Looking back over my Personal Development journey, I feel like I have to say that before and after that moment is like night and day. My life radically transformed in a tiny amount of time. It was really cool. But - and that's a big but - it was filled with tons of emotional labor... Anyway, one thing you need to understand is that nobody can tell you what your next step is. We can only give you a compass to help you figure what you want to do next. So, here's what I'm going to do : I'm going to give exactly what you "should" learn right now so that you fully complete this step and start moving in the "right" direction. (I put air quotes because I don't like using those words, but they capture what I'm trying to say). So there it is : If you want to live an extraordinary life, you have to become an extraordinary person. I've found that our perception of reality, (our thought processes, our emotional patterns, our behavioral patterns), is not controlled by us. It's entirely made up by our psychology. Which means that personal development is really only about moving away from limiting psychology and into empowering psychology. If you want to live an extraordinary life, you're gonna need to adopt the psychology that comes with. The mindsets, the perspectives, the abilities, all this kind of stuff... Another point I'd like to clear out is that changing your psychology isn't easy. You need to put yourself through a trans-formative experience to change psychologies. This is why Leo likes to give us exercises with some of his videos. But you need to come up with your own as well. And you need to implement !!!!! Sounds obvious but a lot of people don't do that !! Here's an action step for you : Watch this video from Leo and do the exercise. This'll help. And btw, what @J. M. Wigglesworth, @Mal, and @Christian have proposed are all valid suggestions, but choose your own.

I've been doing this in my journaling habit without realizing it, and it's been really powerful. I also see a lot of people creating whole topics where they're basically doing this. Here's the exercise : 1. Write down your fears and frustrations 2. Write down your hopes and dreams 3. Contemplate I think it's even more powerful if we share it in this forum because it shows that we're not alone in this, and maybe other people who have already been there can help us. It's also very important to do all 3 parts, not just the first one, or the first two; because it helps re-wire our brain to be moving away from that pain and towards that pleasure. We don't necessarily need to do it very often, just whenever we feel like it. Also it's important not to hold yourself back here, it'll really help you advance in your journey if you do it right.

@popi I just did 10 minutes for each steps. It helps a lot because it creates a huge emotional release and you just feel good right after it. They're not wrong when they say "feel through your emotions to release them". Anyway, here's what I wrote : I fear that I lack the credibility required to be teaching personal development. I fear that I lack the self-governance required to be getting my business up and running. I fear that I can't compete with all the great personal development teachers out there on YouTube. I fear that I lack experience in the field of personal development to be teaching it to others. I fear that I am not remarkable enough to get people's attention. I fear that I can't come up with great personal development material that people would actually want to buy. I am frustrated about the fact that I am not getting any results in my business. I am frustrated about the fact that I can't harness the full power of life purpose to fuel my business. I am frustrated about the fact that I see that I create all these problems myself but that doesn't stop me from keeping at them. I am frustrated about the fact that I don't take full advantage of all the time that I have during my vacation from college. I am frustrated about the fact that I can't seem to be able to delay gratification. I am frustrated about the fact that I can't appreciate how much progress I've made both in my business and also in my life over the past 3 months. I dream of implementing what I call a Scale-Depth Pyramid, which is something like I create content that scales a lot but doesn't go deep and then start building trust and go deeper but doesn't scale (for example Leo's videos scale a lot, then we have his newsletter, then his book list, then his life purpose course which all scale less and go deeper than the previous one); Practically it means shooting videos for youtube, then creating cheap material like ebooks, books, and cheap online courses, then creating physical workshops and working with coaches all around the world to deliver them everywhere, not just here in Geneva, and then creating seminars, and then creating retreats (obviously this is subject to change). I dream of balancing this great work with a minimalist lifestyle, with plenty of time for meditation. I dream of being able to take mini-retirements that last like 3 months and where I would go to some quiet and peaceful place, like a cabin in the woods, or go fishing for wild salmon in Alaska. But I also dream of enjoying the grind, the hustle, the emotional labor (which I kind of am right now). I dream of developing both my life purpose journey, and also my enlightenment journey, at the same time (which I realized is a requirement if you want to be successful at both). I dream of being a greatly strategic motherfucker to achieve my goals (especially right now). I conclude that my weekly 1-hr strategic thinking session will definitely help me over the long run. Tomorrow's session will be all geared toward answering the question : How do I create great personal development content without being good enough ? I have a cool idea for what i want to do in my head right now, I'll need to clarify it tomorrow and then test it next week (which reminds me I'll have to find some way of testing it at a small scale, then maybe I can start thinking about how I can make it bigger).

The rest of the course will help you clarify more in your life purpose, and it will help you with fear. (Obviously I assume you haven't finished the course). Something you could do is spend 10'000 hours doing personal development, and then 10'000 hours doing music (yes, you have time to do both). But I really suggest you finish the course, and then watch the FAQ section which will really help you out with these sorts of questions.

Leo's suggestion in the Patience video helped me realise that I need to be doing exactly this. And I do, and it's awesome. I took some notes while watching his strategic thinking video and I read them as an opening ritual for the habit itself, it helps my mind focus and also provides some guidance as to what I "should" be doing for the following 60 minutes. I just bought the Strategic Thinking course on the great courses website, it's on sale right now you can get it for $35, and I'm going to be using that advice in my habit. For you, I recommend that you get the course right now, it's much cheaper than usual. Take this advice seriously and put in the habit, and then you'll become one seriously strategic motherfucker. You don't necessarily need to buy the course, but it's much cheaper than usual so make sure you don't do something you'll regret (or vice versa, do something you won't regret !). Hope this helps.

In his video Fake Growth vs. Real Growth, Leo clearly describes what it means to really be learning and advancing in one's life. And at the end of the video, he warns us against buying learning resources that are about fake growth. I want good resources. Let me give you some examples. For those of you who have taken the Life Purpose course, I don't know if you've realised this but we do a lot of inner work, which I think is the most valuable content of the course. Also, I've been reading Seth Godin's books and I love them because they don't give me a step-by-step process for how to do marketing/whatever the subject of the book is, they change me so that I don't have this insecurity any more. I have this emotional release. And I was just wondering how do you find great resources ?

I want to learn what are everyone's views on Life Purpose. I've been working on my Life Purpose for almost 6 months and I enjoy it, a lot. I've run across a whole bunch of people who are successful, but don't have Life Purpose, and I see their lives being mostly mediocre, they're not happy at all. And the work they produce is really shitty. They're not making change, they're not adding value. Life Purpose not only resolves all this stuff. It also changes your entire perspective on life. It changes all of your priorities, especially about valuing excellence and mastery. You feel much more resourceful as a human being. And you get that feeling of sharing your greatest gifts with the world, and it feels amazing. What are your views on Life Purpose ?

Body composition is 80% diet. Buy a scale that measures body fat because other ways won't work for skinny fat people. Your only sugar intake should be fruit. No quinoa, no sweet potatoes, no rice of any kind, no whole grains, only fruit. Nuts and vegetables do have sugar but that doesn't matter because their glycemic load is 0,so they don't increase blood sugar. Here's my diet to maintain weight. 2 servings of high protein high fat foods (meat, eggs, fish; 1 steak = 1 serving, it's actually pretty small). 5 servings of fruit, 3 would allow weight loss, 7 weight gain. And 5 servings of vegetables. All of this is per day. I recommend you quit your complex carbs and eat only 3 fruits a day until you hit ideal body fat percentage. Don't count calories, it's useless.

As I understand it, mindfulness is the ability to experience reality literally as it is, whereas awareness is experiencing a given phenomenon as it is happening. But I'm not sure... Can you help me out ? -
Hi guys ! I've been working on my Life Purpose for a while now and know exactly what's going to happen regarding it for the next few months, this is locked down. This means that I'm already thinking about what I'm going to do next, and that would be relationships. Since I'll be able to afford it, and I also need it because I really need to do orders of magnitude of growth, I want to get some expensive resources. "Is a coach needed ? Can I get away with a good $200-$500 course ?" I have these kinds of questions running around in my mind. If you have a good, or a bad, experience with expensive resources, I'd be grateful if you shared it with us.

Visioning : Chaos What is school for ? What do we really learn in school ? What don’t we learn ? Here’s what I did to answer this : I went to school, and noticed things. 4 years from now, I won’t be in school any more, if I were to think about this again then – and I probably will – I guess I would just visualise memories, and notice things again. My point is, are we taught to notice things ? I can easily hear people say “Good students notice things that bad ones don’t, so yeah, we are taught to notice things”. To these people I retaliate, “Are we, though ? … Cause it sure doesn’t feel like it ! It feels more like fit in, memorise processes for how to do things, and do well on the test.” No. Longer. That’s enough, it’s over, we’re done, I get angry when I see my little brother deliberately trying to fit in, and then being criticised that he has no personality. My idea of chaos is simple, don’t have a process for life. Have habits, have values, have purpose, have meaning, have passion, have love, have growth, have contribution, have vision, have uncertainty, have generosity. School is old, too old, we need new, we need remarkable, we need innovative, we need genius, we need adaptability, and school is too old to be innovative, adaptive, genius, remarkable, or new (yes, old can be new, but not here). When school was invented, the only way to lead people we knew was fear. What are colonies really ? “If you don’t obey, I’ll kill you.“. But now, there’s a new kind of discipline, and that’s Taking. Risks. To. Help. The. World. I mean, seriously, nobody – nobody – in their right mind would ever do anything to hurt this world, only people who know nothing but fear, and violence, and basically live their lives suffering, and seeing the world as an evil place, that needs to be destroyed. You choose if you want to live in chaos, or help the world. You choose if you want to live in the old chaos, or the new – better – chaos. And you make that choice every time you choose to not do something because of fear, or to try to make fear go away. Instead of acknowledging it, loving it because it means that you are doing work that’s great, and actually being empowered by this. Tiny Success : Overcoming Fear So, I had planned to help my sister with her life, 'cause you know, that's what I do ! I came back from school at noon today, and I was going to spend a good chunk of the afternoon just talking to her and helping her. Funny thing though, my lizard brain just decided, "hey, it's risky, don't make me do it". I did the right thing, acknowledge it, accepted it, and embraced the challenge. Tiny Failure : Kind of failed to help my sister So, I blindly followed the instructions of Tony Robbins from his program Creating Lasting Change, and I failed to make a change because of it. I wasn't natural enough, I was too robotic, I would have created change in her only if I would have been more authentic. Looking back at it now, I can say that it impacted the rest of the day, when I was thinking about becoming a Great Leader, that I didn't have any style, no ideas to lead with, just being a boring me-too person. Here's the lesson of the day : be authentic to be remarkable, to be a leader, to be happy, to be great. Habits Meditation : I felt at ease today, no anxiety about whether or not I was sitting right, didn't move at all, that was great ! Visualisation : I identify a lot more with my Me Sheet now that I made some changes to it. I completely approve of my new Affirmations, especially the second one "I ship". And I visualised about me giving a talk at a seminar, really connecting with my audience, and being a great strategist, that made me happy. Dinner : So, I was bored, and then, I used some kind of really weird mechanism in me, which basically consists in recalling where an emotion happens within my body, and then I was happy, just like that. Also, being confronted with what normal people do on a daily basis, I realised that most of what we do in Self-Improvement is just doing the exact opposite thing of what most people do.

I've been following him for months and it's just amazing ! Seth returns every day with a new post. He's mostly about being creative, doing work that matters, but his advice can be applied to all kinds of personal development. It's extremely refreshing and also thought provoking to be reading his posts. I highly recommend it.

@Abhijeeth Of course you have doubts. That's called the Resistance. It prevents you from doing great work. Don't try contact him, he probably won't respond to something so common. Keep on taking the course, do the assignments, take this stuff seriously and it will all work out for you.
-
@Oneness Hell yeah it makes sense ! You're just scared, that's just the resistance. It's a good thing, it means your life is advancing. Continue the course up until the end, but try first to reduce that statement to fewer words, so that it could be something like : "Make people laugh their way into understanding their minds". Keep going, Leo will help you with that fear, I had the same when I took the course, I feel much better now.
