  1. Paralysis by Analysis. Been there. I recommend taking action. Setting up a schedule doing something ANYTHING and sticking to it for a week and see how that goes. Set up ANY difficult(resistance-inducing/ whatever you DON'T like to do) habit and do it daily, however small it is. Break the resistance. Feel through it. Also, thanks for the reminder idea. I've set up similar daily reminders. Hits like a rock.
  2. https://scottjeffrey.com/spiral-dynamics/#The_Relationship_between_Grave_and_Maslows_Model Here's an interesting comparison.
  3. Star Wars could be of help. But I don't think it's coming anytime soon. Spiral Dynamics as a model has developed from observation and not speculation. Plus, it's a lot about the circumstances that bring a stage alongwith the openness of an individual to transform. Until Leo himself transcends Turquoise and puts him in the position that make Coral manifest - Hmmm.. Maybe with Mars settlement and need for new forms of governance.
  4. @winterknight What is Art? What is the purpose of Art?
  5. +1
  6. Samsara. If you want glimpses of tier-2 / Yellow, this is a great movie to watch. It's beauty, perspectives and open-mindedness combined with an insane budget and hi-res cameras.
  7. There is a video called 'Sameness VS Difference' which might be what you're looking for.
  8. How to develop body awareness, especially when sick or unhealthy. How to listen to your body. How to reclaim your breath. How to reclaim health. How to reclaim sexuality from the society. How to develop a 'sense' for one's body.
  9. I know. But there are points that Leo did not cover in this episode(or I might have missed them?) Does he cover body image and sexuality?.. And getting a sense of the cause of discomfort within the body.. Etc
  10. Most of what I find are stage green protests. Very few geographers have nuanced understanding and appeal of stage yellow. What are some examples of stage yellow working towards improvement of environment?
  11. I found this gem browsing through Leo's blog: Thwink.org Very informative yellow-stage content -URL corrected
  12. While I've observed that nearly all independent creative professionals CAN develop sensitivity towards realizing the non-dual nature of our existence through their particular line of work, there are some subjects/fields better suited than others. This may entirely me personal/temperamental thing, but I'm sure there is substance to it 'objectively' as well. I've studied architecture and have a strong inclination towards communication design. I am considering doing post-grad in either Earth Education and Communication(EEC) or New Media/ Experimental Media Arts(EMA). 1. Earth Education and Communication: [Unclear aim] So I looked around as asked myself; What is most required in the World right now (that I can provide)? .. The way the program is conducted is extremely transdisciplinary and observation-based. Basically, 2 years of travelling into remote areas, understanding the inter-dependent nature of our existence. Nothing seems like a better lifestyle and conducive to enlightenment to me than observing wildlife for a 6-month project. So far, there has not been more than 3 people in a batch, that's a plus for me. 2. New Media Design / Experimental Media Arts: [Aimed towards becoming an independent Artist]. I'm working on putting complex concepts into visual form. One recent project is called 'Ways of conceptualizing the self' which uses abstract interactive art to explore 'Lonely/Separated from everything', 'A node in a network'(an information node, a biological node, a social node), 'connected to everything on a cellular level', etc. These concepts cannot be expressed effectively by any one medium. In my vision, as of now, these require a complex combination of Visuals, sound and interactivity, using mediums like projections, VR and generative art. There are many many other concepts that if dealt with well enough, can make someone emotional/have goosebumps and leave with an incredible experience. I know this is a personal call, but I'd love to have some advice. if you're interested, here are the websites of the above-mentioned courses: EEC: http://srishti.ac.in/programs/postgraduate-program-in-earth-education-and-communication-2018-19 NMD: http://www.nid.edu/education/master-design/new-media-design/p-overview.html EMA:http://srishti.ac.in/programs/postgraduate-program-in-experimental-media-art-practices-2018-19
  13. Is it just the brain? The mind? Energies? Where does psychology and consciousness meet? What is the purpose of Psychology? Should it be studying 'abmormalities'? Should it be studying man as they find him OR studying the laws and principles of the ideal? What is an ideal for humans to aim at? How to evolve consciously towards the ideal? How to orient oneself while working with one's psychology for maximum efficiency? An over arching understanding of the subject - aimed to provide a guiding thread for the rest of one's life.
  14. The key to effective communication, visualization and contemplation..
  15. No kidding. You know how quantum mechanics says an electron can be in multiple states simultaneously? I'm through pass # 5 defining my values and my values keep shifting definitions! [Joke ends here] I've spent over 30 pages(and a similar number of days) ruminating on this. I've certainly filtered but it's far from specific. I've been through the realization that values are essentially groundless and my picking of values are partly on what has motivated me in the past and partly on what I consider important for the future. [Also, I have got an inkling that even if I pick any 10 values randomly from Leo's list, they all point to the same direction.] Forgive me for my seemingly-scattered way of thinking, - Here are my top 10, in no particular order: [Brackets cover my contemplation on how that value came about] 1. Wholeness / Self Actualization - Integration of everything that entails being alive - from the devil to the divine. Being home wherever I am. A strong sense of stability. Responding over Reacting. [Have had a repressed upbringing, been doing shadow work - can see the benefits of this. Keen on getting the most juice out of life.] 2. Truth - Being in touch with what is, with or without 'me'. Seeing the Truth. Being the Truth. [To self-actualize(1) - this is the highway. Also, been a constant liar and seen the repercussions] Oh, and recently had 2 months added to an experience letter to complete the required experience (which I didn't work for) - so there's hypocrisy 3. Freedom - Being my own boss. Dedicating my own schedule. Working only for the 'market' I serve and independent of anybody else. Freedom from illusions. Relates directly to (2) Truth. 4. Knowledge / Understanding / Wisdom - Understanding the inner mechanisms of society/ecosystems/relationships/everything. Putting light to every aspect of a subject. Learning how to separate the wheat from the chaff. [Wanted to be a scientist when I was 8; been dead curious for as long as I can remember. Have been consuming information like a maniac ever since I was a child. I've been the child who goes through a person's browser history/hidden folders to understand the whole picture - now you know it. Also, so many aha! moments I've had listening to Leo, Sadhguru and JBP.] 5. Exploration / Experiential learning/ Experimentation / Open-mindedness - Exploration of possibilities for the sake of exploration. [This has been my driving force all through Architecture school. I experimented with building material, ways of presentation, model materials etc. Often didn't get my work done on time because it was not 'out there' enough. -- Went to give a sales interview to see how it all works - had no intention of being a part of it. Have been dabbling into generative art/design because the possibilities are endless. Wasn’t friends with any particular ‘group’ in college, but got in - and out of - touch with a range of people. This is big for me.] 6. Nature [Enjoy being barefoot all the time. Enjoy taking long walks in nature] 7. Contribution / Impact - To leave the earth better than I found it. [Even if life is meaningless, there is life and all I leave is an impact. Left my last firm doing high-end residential interiors because I contributed beauty to a very limited range of clients. Zoom out, and that's 5% of the good that I could be doing. I work like a slave for what I love, but I certainly don't enjoy feeling like one(3).] 8. Love - Ever-expanding love. Another highway to Self-actualization. [Nothing else has been more difficult to implement and effective at the same time - in improving the quality of my experience than (moving towards) unconditional love.] 9. Consciousness - Sharpness of perception. Clarity. Directly relates to truth, understanding and love. If consciousness is the basis of the large-spanning understanding of the world that Sadhguru exhibits, I’m on board! 10. Health / Energy Can’t build a skyscraper on a shaky foundation. Am I approaching this incorrectly? How do I take this further? I’d appreciate a critique.

  17. It is not the occassional down-in-the-dumps that stunts my growth, but my resistance to it.
  18. May include breathing and posture techniques.
  19. I discovered Nietzsche about 6-7 years back and was immediately thrilled with his writings. He was the one that pulled me into questioning everything and pushed me into the bottomless pit of nihilism, and left me volatile, angry and depressed for the coming months. I lost all respect for the 'authority', the government, my parents. During this phase, I drank my wits off, peed on temples, schools and statues of 'national importance'... There was nothing I could cling on. I did came out from the ashes wiser and much more grounded into reality. He was certainly a yellow thinker. Osho has spoken on Nietzsche(in a book/lecture titled 'Zarathustra, the laughing prophet') and mentioned somewhere that he'd have been a Buddha if only he had discovered meditation. Nietzsche was much more of a psychologist than a philosopher, and among the very first I believe. He influenced the theories of Freud, Jung and more recently Jordan Peterson.
  20. I've recently quit my job where I worked as a Junior Architect. As of now, I lack a concrete vision for future, I lack good social skills and I lack clarity of mind. I'm going to take the following action steps over the next few months to ensure my growth on this path: 1. Total acceptance of the past; forgive myself for the mistakes I've committed, irrational and sometimes downright stupid behaviour I've indulged myself in. Daily meditation practice and becoming conducive to the range of emotions and memories that spring from my past; 2. Conscious body relaxation as soon as I notice tension anywhere within my body. Constant reminder that I'm neither the body, nor the mind; 3 Reading as widely as possible. I'm currently reading Yuval Noah Harari's Homo Deus. I'll be reading George Leonard's 'Mastery' next; 4. Constant visioning of what 'could' be my everyday experience, strategic thinking to what steps it'd take to actualize the vision and deliberately rebuilding my self image in alignment with the vision; 5. Limit mental diet. No cheap gratification with porn or masturbation until new year; 6. Constant reminder that life is here and now.
  21. I second that.
