  1. I suggest you look into the works of Franklin Merrell-Wolff. He was a mathematician and enlightened mystic, and only passed away in 1985. A good way is to read "Franklin Merrell-Wolff's Experience and Philosophy" which contain most of his writings. He talks at length about the nature of infinity and mathematics, etc. This is a good bio about him: http://www.spiritualteachers.org/franklin-merrell-wolff/
  2. Could you talk a bit more on how this text has helped your practice? By the way it seems the version you posted is not the best translation, there is a more recent version translated by Thomas Cleary.
  3. I've recently started doing the do-nothing technique coupled with strong determination sitting and I absolutely love it. I suggest looking up Shinzen Young's youtube videos on do-nothing, along with Leo's, they are very helpful.
  4. Everybody try this and report back! I wasn't able to see anything, but I really struggle with visualization. Even something like imagining walking down a hallway is something I can't seem to do, though I'm sure with practice I could get good at it.
  5. @Azrael I was re-reading this thread again and noticed you mentioned Holosync. Do you have any pointers on how to get the most out of these types of programs? Do you use them every time you meditate or only sometimes? And are there any "levels" you feel are specifically helpful?
  6. @Heart of Space Could you point to some sources where this sort of thing has been documented? I'm interested in reading about possible adverse effects.
  7. @nexusoflife Thanks for sharing this amazing report! Curious about what sort of expectations you had going into this trip...do you think that what you saw may have been influenced by stuff you have read/heard about prior to this, or did it seem completely out of the blue?
  8. @outlandish Somewhat on this topic, could this technique also be used to get rid of excess moisture that 5-meo has accumulated during improper storage? I just read the following: "Hydrochlorates like the 5-MeO-dmt HCl above are usually a little bit hygroscopic. DMT HCl is so hygroscopic that it forms a dark gooey mess that will only crystallize in completely dry air. And when exposed to normal air DMT HCl eventually becomes wet by absorbing water from the air" (from this link: https://drugs-forum.com/threads/storing-and-degradation-of-tryptamines.40459/ ) So if this were to happen, seems like one could just place all of the product in the ethanol solution, and once the ethanol evaporates, all that excess moisture will go along with it, upon which you could reseal it and store it again in its powder form?
  9. Awesome report!
  10. @krazzer Since it's been awhile, are you still in this state? Has it been coming and going at all?
  11. I'm all for exposing spiritual frauds (IF he is indeed a fraud that is). I think there are very few things worse than misleading people spiritually.
  12. Funny that you post this, I remember this scene really well. The way that he achieved his aim right as he stopped caring is a common theme, it happened to people like Einstein and Osho as well. But the tricky part is that the intense longing prior to "giving up" seems just as important as the final release. Seems like a delicate balance. One could see how somebody might just give up prematurely and accomplish nothing.
  13. Thanks for sharing this journey with us. Can't wait to see how things progress for you in the future! I'm curious, did you experiment with any psychedelics during this period of searching for enlightenment??
  14. Are you sure that was in reference to 5-meo and not something else? I've never seen anybody recommend 5-meo orally. There seems to be a virtually universal consensus that it is a bad idea for multiple reasons. Oral does seem to be the preferred ROA for 4-aco-dmt though. Best to read up on each substance individually.
  15. With the importance that Martin Ball gives to bilateral body symmetry and having limbs not crossing over the center of the body during a full "energetically open" state, it seems like a good idea to do our meditation practice in the same way. I'm a tad surprised I've not heard this suggested by him or others. If we are aiming for this full energetically open state, sitting in the classic lotus position with crossed legs seems counterproductive. I can't be the first person to have thought of this... Some choices for symmetric poses are the "bound angle pose", or using one of these meditation chair/cushion things. Disclaimer: I'm no authority on meditation, this just seems like common sense to me. Maybe Martin mentions it in his books, I haven't read them yet. But I've not heard this suggestion in any of his interviews.
  16. Wouldn't this render the 5-meo unusable?
  17. I don't think "impossible" is the word they should be using. Why not just say "extremely difficult"?
  18. Over at the DMT-Nexus somebody posted a great idea for weighing using fixed scoop sizes, this seems like a really good way to sidestep annoying scale variations. There will still be variation of course, but seems less, he tested it and it showed great results. Of course one should test on their own scale as well, but the idea makes a lot of sense, just making use of level scoops to slowly load it up. The 3mg scoop seems like the best bet, but it would take a ton of scoops to get up to 30 mg...so may be worth going for the larger scoop even if it is slightly less accurate. https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=75488
  19. Thanks for sharing...what is the source of this? May want to add it to the original post.
  20. Here is one of the presentations from the recent Exploring Psychedelics 2017 conference in Ashland Oregon. It is by Rev Aryshta Dean. I had never heard of this blue lotus flower until now. Seems it works synergystically with psilocybin!
  21. That's an interesting point. At the very least you'd expect they'd have one goddess for each component. But the fact that there are some representations of what appear to be mushrooms does help her theory a bit. I'm guessing this sort of ritual was for the elite classes only, so maybe having the lotus front and center (instead of mushrooms) was a way to be discrete about it while still allowing them to openly celebrate/worship it.
  22. Does anybody know why 5-meo-dmt hcl would sometimes be pinkish in color? Even supposedly 97% pure stuff? I see a lot of discussion online about color variations of n-m DMT, but not 5-meo.
  23. Do not underestimate set and setting. If your mindset isn't in the right place and the setting isn't just right (nice weather and no mosquitoes etc if outside, and no people around), then don't do it. These "minor" things can become a big deal very fast and can spiral into a negative a trip.
  24. This "turn the other cheek" thing has always annoyed me. There is a discussion of this idea in The Book of Mirdad, and like with Jesus, the moral is that you should just let people have their way with you. It's in the context of Mirdad (the saintly fellow of the story) telling a prince that he should allow his kingdom to be invaded by belligerent neighbors, because to resist violence is bad. Personally I just can't get over it, but what do I know.
  25. How free are we talking here? Are there charges for anything (perhaps stuff not included in the free program)? Not that I'm saying it's bad to charge, just curious.
