  1. When I went out to do pickup with a friend I approached dozens of girls per night with a friend. However, most of them were only interrested in my friend, even though I approached he was always the more interresting option. After a couple months of this he got a girlfriend that way and I had nobody to go out with anymore. he didnt even do pickup so I thought to myself why would I have to read all these stupid books, cringy routines etc. when for 99% of men it just works without any of it. Thats why I quit pickup. The next couple of years I just let it "flow" tried to meet girls naturally through social circle etc. but nothing happend of course. The problem is there is never really a romantic connection. Girls never give me signals, they do their best to make it feel like a friendship right from the start. Sometimes I make a move anyway even though my instincts tell me not do but it ends in rejection so far. I dont meet that many girls too because I work in IT, I have a hard enough time maintaining my social circle of non-IT guys on the weekends. To my surprise my IT collegues are not getting laid either, plus they dont seem to have any friends to go out with, but it seems like it doesnt bother them at all, they are happy coding or playing games at home, they hate drinking, bars and socialising. I just want to get on that level too. So thats where I'm at right now and I'm out of ideas. I guess I want to meditate my desire away, because I feel like its not going to happen naturally for me and my focus is on just easing my depression now.
  2. @Source_Mystic: thanks for your reply, you are right its not lack of sex but the lack of intimacy. Your tips are very good, I sometimes do keep up the fight with depression, but it just comes back again and again until Im drained and think "fuck im not in the mood to fight it anymore, just give up". It really feels like I cant win. @Leo: Great advice, havent thought of that. Usually I really appreciate your advice but thats just dumb. Its also not like I'm not trying, i've done pickup for a while and it destroyed my confidence. I know you fixed that problem later in life yourself but you never seemed to be depressed about it. I have different brain chemicals than you, its just that mine decided to respond that way.
  3. The thing is - I know all of this. but it doesnt prevent me from feeling like shit. Its just there, like a wheight on my shoulders. I cant rationalize it away with blaming it on ego either.
  4. Is it possible to have a truly original out-of-the-box idea that is not based on any other idea? If sensory input is all we have our brain really only can come up with stuff it either experienced in nature, or based on art that came before it. You can mix and match stuff, but you cant really come up with an original idea. Really the only method I could think of getting non-existing information in your brain is generating random things and looking at them until and see if something clicks, with an almost infinite number of combinations my rough guess for a chance of hitting an idea that makes sense to a human brain here is like hitting the lottery 1000 times in a row. I thought about this when thinking of original ideas for games. Edit: This Reminds me of the Library of Babel. You can browse it right now here: https://libraryofbabel.info/browse.cgi Just think about it, right there, somewhere on this website, is some groundbreaking stuff written. Ideas that could change a human being and humanity forever. Its impossible to find, though.
  5. It is true that this is a powerful mechanism. I'm just lately entertaining the thought of an idea that would make sense to a human but is not derived from past experience. I referenced the library of babel because that is a place where such an idea would most likely be found. Basically an idea that no human brain could possibly come up with, but thats still groundbreaking to a human. interresting to think about if such a thing could exist. Maybe its just a silly thought though, I didnt study philosophy or anything, im sure im not the first human thinking of this.
  6. Beliefs: Enlightenment exists Meditation is not only just a romanticised breathing exercise The holocaust happened The world isn't led by reptilians disguising as politicians
  7. One thing I never understood about enlightenment. Lets say you have an insight during meditation. You suddenly understand something profound. So like everything you "know" Its stored as a memory in your brain. What if someone were to put a needle into an exact point in your brain and erase that memory, erase that insight so to speak. What then? What if an enlightened Person suffers brain damage and turns into a vegetable, is he not enlightened anymore. The first one is a bit out there with at current level of neuroscience but the second one could happen. It seems like we need our brain to be enlightened, how are we not the brain then? How does this work? Someone explain this to me please.
  8. Yeah probably didnt get the full effects, dont know why. We smoked it in a bong, and I did it multiple times on different days, so I got a pretty good feel for it. Maybe it wasnt enough, also you cant make a joint with it or anything or you get absolutely 0 effects. It has to be consumed all at once. It wasnt placebo though. There was an immediate change in vision, not full blown, but it was like the framerate got turned down a lot. And the immediate, lets call it temporary amnesia, rather than ego death. Got bored pretty quickly with the stuff, because the "high" wasnt that great, too short and the sweating sucked. I was just a teenager experimenting and out to get high somehow at the time.
  9. I get where are you are coming from, watched these videos a couple times actually. But its hard to wrap your mind around, you think you understood it somehow and then days pass and your mind comes up with questions like I posted again. I must admit I'm still a skeptic, but I'm reading all kinds of books and meditate because I feel there must be something to it since people like you or eckhart tolle seem very serious and sincere about it. Its just curiousity. Speaking of curiousity, the positives of enlightment has on your life like raised awareness aside. Why from a personal point of view go through that struggle if you will get there when you die anyway? Is it just curiousity of the human brain? Most people go through life dont caring about the true nature of life, like who knows if heaven or hell exists or what happens after death, I'll get there anyway, why worry about it. But having to know now, while you are living this human life, and going to great lengths to find out like some of these monks, Isnt it just an extreme form of neuroticism? Not advocating for or against it, just throwing some thoughts out.
  10. I tried 25x back in the day. I really did not experience any loss of motor control. What was fascinating was the INSTANT ego death as soon as you take a rip, you dont know who you are, or where you are, if you have friends around you dont know who they are either. But you dont care, you are not afraid. Then within 10 mins everything comes back slowly and you start to sweat.
  11. First off, I'm not a friend of alcohol and I think its a drug that rather lowers your conciousness and is much more dangerous than it is seen in our culture. I'm on board with all that, and I'm pro psychedelics. But let me give you a counter point to Leos video. What always rubs me the wrong is the romantization of ancient tribes, and how they are more in touch with nature than us with all there psychedelic use. And that there is some kind of conspiracy going on against mind expanding drugs to keep us down. I mean, how much more in touch with being human can you be when doing THE nr 1 human drug alcohol. This drug is no new invention its used for socializing between humans for thousands of years by all classes across all cultures. The government doesnt keep psychedelics under wraps, it would rather ban all drugs that make you dysfunctional in society - including alcohol. Im not saying psychedelics make you dysfunctional like a heroin addict, but while you trip you are kind of out there and thats the immediate effect that they see, so its reason enough to ban it in a backwards thinking kind of way. On the other hand they see that its impossible to ban alcohol because its so ingrained in our culture and easy to make which is not the case with LSD. The same thing is happening to weed right now in western societies. People grow it and its getting more accepted by society thats why its getting legal because there is nothing to be done about it. The point is also most people wouldnt enjoy psychedelics like alcohol because alcohol is less complicated and more recreational so there isnt even a big demand for it in society. Like leo said, 99% of people dont want to do the work anyway. I'm not advocating for alcohol just providing a counter point to the conspiracy theory like themes Leo has been throwing out in the video.
  12. I had some good meditaton after one beer because of the mind-numbing, anxiety lowering effects and general raised feeling of well being. Any more than that and you turn into an emotionally controlled robot though.
  13. Its the second part I dont buy. If there were some "evil" people in power with the goal to keep the masses unconcious how could you be advocating the mind expanding properties of psychedelics freely on youtube? There are retreats, gurus, new age nuts on talk shows, lots of information on the internet and a good number artists - all advocating benefits of psychedelics freely. There are big psytrance/goa scenes all around the world holding legal parties where its generally understood that people will do psychedelics. its also generally accepted und understood in mainstream society that artists will use drugs to enhance their creativity. Its just that the average joe and the general masses dont give a shit about it, and if psychedelics were legal tommorow they wouldnt be giving a shit in 5 years either. Everybody who has the slightest interest in psychedelics can get them.
  14. Because its part of their religion and out of that reason the state grants them the right to practice it freely. Christian religion on which the US and western countries is culturally founded upon doesn't have psychedelic use as part of their practice (maybe it did in the past - idk - but its not as important). So from our point of view it is more of a recrationional drug than a religious thing. Compare this to Jamaica where Cannabis is actually Illegal but rastafaris have the right to smoke it as part of their religious practice. The same thing even happens in some really conservatives saudi states like dubai where alcohol is not allowed for the local population but for the westerners that work/vacation there its allowed because they know its part of our culture - this is more of a money than a religious thing because they know it would hurt tourism, but its the same principle. Is it because alcohol consumption would raise the conciousness of the saudi cititizens and destabilize their society? Most certainly not. Im not saying this is the right way to go about it and psychedelics should be illegal, just explaining whats the reasoning behind this. Also, its not like mushrooms are that forbidden and you are thrown in prison for even talking about them. Everybody can buy the spores and grow them or find them in the woods. There just isnt much demand in mainstream society so psychoactive substances like this are illegal per default, but in general the state/police doesnt really give a shit if you trip in your home, they are more focused drugs like heroin and cocaine. Looking forward to part 2!
  15. Which books did Leo get this theory from? I have a really problem with feeling guilty about things I think I should do, or shouldnt have done and beat myself up over it. I dont know if its a self esteem issue at the core but I suspect. Im currently finishing reading radical honesty and it has a section about moralism but it really isnt the same. By the way I am really disappointed by radical honesty, I didnt get any insights about myself or any practical advice from it, it reads like rambling. Being 100% honest and just speaking out what pops in your mind just isnt practical in real life. Maybe you are more free, but who wants to give up all his relationships? People wont invite the guy who doesnt have a filter to any social gatherings.
  16. Thanks Leo this video was very informative, I wish this information and all these examples were in the book, much more relatable. Im still working on my understanding of the material. What would a radically honest person do in these situations? - A friend x tells you something really personal, later in the day another friend y asks how your visits been and what you talked about - Someone introduces you to a friend and this friend is fat, ugly or some racist thought pops in your head you wouldnt normally speak about. We all have these filters in society for a reason, sure it IS lying to not offend everybody but if you dont play by these rules you will alienate yourself, how would that improve your life? Even in dating I made this experience. If I'm on a date with a girl I used to be naturally open about my depression and confidence issues in the past when asked, and I saw that drives women and people in general away like crazy. Especially if you are a man talking about your true feelings is discouraged in society and especially by women.
  17. Tonight the spirit of Leo appeared to me in a vision. He flew through my window and told me not to worry and that everything is going to be alright. He gave me the mission to tell everyone on the forum that he is soon coming back enlightened as god himself to free humanity from ego once and for all. Also, everyone who bought the life purpose course gets to come with him on his spaceship.

  19. From what I heard he sadly crashed into a bus while high on psychedelics yesterday...
  20. Ive recently read the sedona method and I find it useful so far, but im not sure where to put it in the context of my meditaton and self inquiry work. You are just thinking about these questions and answering them in your mind right? So is it just mind games to manipulate your emotions? I generally have a problem to put all these concepts mentioned in Leos videos into a bigger picture.
  21. I suffer from loneliness a lot, especially no girlfriend and working at a desk during the week alone. I check whatsapp constantly, write with people, check facebook all this stuff that feels like it isnt going to really cure my loneliness. Then I think about deleting all these apps, maybe one weekend dont call anybody and just be by myself. And then I get tons of doubts like, there are studies that show no social interaction leads to decreased health. Leo said you should face your loneliness but then I keep thinking humans are social creatures, of course I feel miserable being lonely - I need more, not less social interaction! And im back as usual checking facebook, whatsapp, bugging people to go for drinks with me. It feels like an addiction, but then again humans are social creatures and feeling loneliness makes evolutional sense. So how could the solution to feeling lonely to be less social? Arent you just going to destroy your mental and then later physical health by even cutting yourself off from people. Sure you arent dependant on them anymore, but I think you are still just going to be miserable, its our nature. This isnt really criticism on the videos, I rather want some counter points to my doubts.
