  1. Hello. Why does is seem to me that I dont really want to 'end' (my) suffering. Like, for some reason, being 'nothingness' doesnt appeal to me that much..? Thats not to say that I dont search, I'm always searching. And on first glance I wouldnt say about myself that I enjoy my suffering.. The problem is that I dont really know what I want, deep down inside. I always search for different things. Could it be that I enjoy my suffering? Because if I really would want to end my suffering I would be searching for enlightenment (right)? thank you
  2. Define enlightenment. What is it intelluctually, physically, spiritually, existentially.
  3. In reference to Bronsoval's post about kung fu. Was Bruce Lee enlightened?
  4. I thought the exact same thing today lol.. everything happens for a reason even if we dont realise it at that moment.. life is something..
  5. Do you ever lose your motivation for self mastery? If you dont, how do you manage to stay motivated for a long period? If you say something like "I realise how short life is and how precious it is " then I wanna know how you got to that (permanent) state of mind. Basically I want to know, what is your 'secret' behind your motivation.
  6. Thank you Leo for putting out epic content for free
  7. I like his longer videos the most.. I loved the two videos: "Understanding awareness" and the video about free will, they were both long. I want more of those that really go deep.
  8. Any ideas how we can self remember easier? Having in mind those moments during the day that leave a memory, how can we use that as some strategy to induce more self remembering moments that leave a memory? Today I remember pretty much only the moment when 2 friends visited me, you open the door and the surprise of the 2 friends standing infront of your door makes you remember yourself momentarily, thus leaving a memory. Edit: I can remember way more moments if I really try.
  9. I will try it today and will post my experiences later.
  10. Lately Ive been reading Gurdjiefs books and applying his teachings. He calls the most important principle (along with others) self remembering, where you try to be conscious of yourself. At start its pretty hard but it gets easier with time. One day I went so deep in self remembering that it changed my consciousness a little bit, its easier for me to self remember now and I can go deeper. A couple of times I went so deep and it felt epic You feel a sense of peace and joy andfreedom , it feels really good, and thats probably not even 1 percent of the potential.Trust me, even the one percent glimpses of true self remembering are profound, compare it to moments when youre really happy/excited. Eventually this can lead to enlightenment and freedom. Id like to hear your experiences with this. ( Leo talked about this topic in his video: "Understanding awareness" where he referred to the book of Ouspensky. Ouspensky was a student of Gurdjieff)
  11. So how long did you practice self awareness for it to become somewhat an automatic thing?
  12. Sadhguru claims to know the human system from A to Z. Dont know if its true though. He says some logical stuff but he hasnt convinced of his claim.
  13. Lotus with palms on knees facing upward.
  14. Are all thoughts from the ego?what about desire? Are desires from the ego? And negative emotions? Let me explain: whenever I try to do emotionally difficult work, for example being conscious of myself for a long period (at first I like to do it but with time it gets hard and boring). So then thoughts arise, sometimes very subtle ones, saying that you should stop doing this work right now. Also desires arise of wanting to do something else than what Im doing, also sometimes very subtle. And negative emotions such as boredom arise and its really hard to keep doing the work. Are these the work of the ego?
  15. Shinzen young said that your limbs falling asleep is not dangerous, as long as its not TOO long ( I would say days xD). He also said that most people can sit for 4 hours without problems. If your pain disappears after about twenty minutes after getting up there is not problem. If the pain persists for a long time, you should re evaluate your sits.
  16. Can you give practical examples of how you 'battle' with the ego?
  17. Yes, it takes a lot of work to stay awake. But I guess practice makes perfect.
  18. Thanks for the replies guys, youre helping alot
  19. Also whats amazing I remember those moments of true self remembering vividly, they leave a memory, whereas most other moments like you mentioned yourself are hard to remember.
  20. I havent tried that approach. I just try to be conscious of myself during the day. If you do this long enough you enter a profound state, you feel freedom and joy and everything becomes so vivid, the colors etc. But then you get distracted and fall asleep again.
  21. Hahaha, goes to show how much were asleep most of the time..
  22. You mean you have to put yourself through dissatisfaction to progress on the path to enlightenment?
  23. So I understood that the things I mentioned are the ego. So resistance to what is is the ego? Why dont I hear anything from the ego when Im involved in fun stuff like watching a very good movie, its like were in a trance and theres no resistance. As soon as the movie ends, suffering begins, new desires arise, boredom arises etc.
