  1. Interesting way to put it. I guess knowing your true nature is both something you learn on a spiritual and physical level. Spiritual in that it affects your worldview and emotions, then physical in how it allows you to better see raw experience through your senses. To understand the spiritual, maybe you first have to understand it through the physical.
  2. Hahahaha. I guess that’s one way to put it. Though, seriously, this actually makes sense on some level.
  3. I’d like to say thanks for the advice many people have given me. @Arkandeus It’s interesting to me how you predicted some changes I’ve been seeing in my life without me saying it directly, and what you said. I do seem to be sensing things about other people, and some things are a little too accurate for some ideas I have to be coincidental. Strange. I’ve found a strange change in what I can intuit, and I guess my whole life has been turning upside down. I’m a bit afraid to be seen as a crackpot to admit this, but what you said makes sense to me. I’ll take what you said into consideration for my decision. I’m pretty scared though, and being enlightened doesn’t necessarily mean being famous or everything turning out well like you say, but I do think it will help in my own journey through life. See you guys around, and take care.
  4. There's a difference between saying morality is an existing external rule to follow than a rule you've created from your own inner drive. A difference between a morality made of guilt from fear of punsihment and a morality born from love. The world when found through self inquiry is pointless, but that is why you can form your own beliefs of what makes it have a purpose.

  6. I'd say some video games allow for some progress in life though. Just important not to be obsessed with it. It's a unique form of media that allows you to interact with it, and so many difficult decisions can be made in games that allow you to ponder on life -- especially in those story like games where you make multiple complex moral decisions. Lots of games also train fast reflexes and more puzzle like games develop logical thinking. I think people's emphasis on it as a complete waste of time is wrong. Sure, there's a point where it's too much and it becomes an addiction, but not all the time. People are just overly cynical with any new media. Socrates was against the written word -- saying it'll teach people to have worse memorizing skills to rely on it. Then people were complaining about the new radios kids were having. Then people start talking about TV as being bad when there are some intelligent movies out there that make you think. Now people are pouncing on video games as the next victim. That's a shame though, as I've seen how passionate some video game designers are with making their artform intelligent, and how difficult the programming for these games are. It's visual -- like paintings and drawings. It's auditory -- expresses itself in music. It can be full of text and story -- just like the best books. It's interactive -- and you learn best by doing. It's a combination of different artforms together, and yet people stereotype it as all bad. My advice? Make it gradual, and feel free to still play but not too much. People say read more books, but some books are as stupid as Twilight. Reading books does not automatically mean you're making progress with your life, just as video games don't mean they're all dumb and a waste of time. Just my 2 cents.
  7. A miracle has occured to all humanity. Now all followers of Kanye West's genius shall become enlightened.
  8. Eeeer, no need to start busting out conspiracy theories little guy.
  9. @John Iverson Your ego will get afraid from vanishing, of course. Removing it is like mourning a good friend, but sometimes growing pains is what allows us to grow the most. When I meant Orange stage, I meant Spiral Dynamics -- Leo has a video on that, and you can listen to the site Personality Hacker's podcasts for more on that. You seem to be around Orange or Green -- Orange where the person learns to develop their confidence, discipline and talents -- then Green where they use those skills out of love for others. This is just an educated guess of course -- as I don't personally know you. Good luck.
  10. It’s a natural effect of being advanced into meditation. Daniel Ingram calls it the Arising and Passing away stage of meditation, and is a sign of something extraordinary happening. It’s not the end of your journey though, and after this stage, that’s where the most difficult stages come in. Take care. WaterfallMachine
  11. Tasks for discipline : Meditation, pomodoro technique, prioritizing, and starting small. Google on how to develop habits that will allow you to be disciplined. Exercise and health practices are the best part of life that teach discipline. Giving yourself rewards and punishments. Having someone to be accountable with. Tasks for love : Loving kindness meditation, practice on emotional vulnerability in intimate relationships — research attachment theory, working on self love, inner child work for past traumas, and possibly volunteering help in your own way. You seem to be in stage Orange in Spiral Dynamics. The first tasks develops the stage, and the latter develops the Green stage. Good luck. I recommend doing Orange tasks first though. If you believe you’re ready for the second, then feel free to disagree with me.
  12. Hmm. Thank you for specifying. Though there are already many enlightened people in this world who have powers such as those, and people will still call them crazy. Having abiltiies such as these don’t always lead to people worshipping you or being inspired by you. Many can be scared, angry or start envying you. Many will not immediately believe you and will call you a fraud. Can you handle that? What extra things can you do to help people believe? Powers such as these require an emotional and personal development grown to be able to handle these energies well, and that’s why I ask you of this. Sorry if I forgot to specify. Now, can you think of any other ideas on this? It’s like being told to solve the Mandelbrot Equation. How can you do the math if they just tell you to solve it without giving you the actual equaton? Larger goals have subgoals. Like doing your chores as a bigger goal to the subgoals of diswashing, cleaning and taking out the trash.
  13. I don’t know what you mean by projecting. All you specified was wanting to create a miracle, and it was very possible that you had an idea on this yet that I could help develop. I asked these questions to help you figure out yourself. I can’t answer those questions for you, and without specific goals, I can’t choose specific tasks to recommend to you. Maybe it’s best to first find your specific values in life though. This will allow a better choice of what your life purpose would be. What would you like to work on for a miracle? More discipline? More love? More awareness? More what? It’s your choice. Sometimes my job here isn’t to provide answers, but to lead you to the right questions.
  14. Well, it’s not a prize that you either have or not. It’s more like a gradual progressing of betterment in my life. I’m not enlightened yet, but the path towards it have already allowed me a lot of self awareness and emotional healing in my life. You already have a much higher chance of just trying. Billions around the world haven’t heard of it, and those who heard of it haven’t tried it. So of course it’s a 1 in millions thing.
  15. I’ll express it in precise and well chosen terms. I’d crap my pants and run like hell. Enlightenment doesn’t mean the end of suffering, and even with years of meditation under my belt, I’m still far away from enlightenment. I’d still feel fear, and even in what seems like enlightenment experiences, I can still feel a lot of fear. Fear is a biological response to danger. Without it, we’d get into all kinds of reckless decisions and die sooner. What I worry about with enlightenment is unnecessary fear — where there is only an imagined danger, or a danger you can’t do anything about to run away from. Hey, bud, all this self inquiry makes it easier for me to accept the idea of dying someday, but it sure doesn’t mean I’d be ready to die.
  16. I’m afraid it has to do be more specific than that. How will you develop and express this love? In what way? Any specified life purpose or educational/career path? Any hobbies in your freetime you can work on? Any people you can talk to as mentors? If love is just love, then there needs to be something beyond that.
  17. Sorry, but you’re not going to make a miracle if your primary motivation is to create miracles. There needs to be a deeper reason for it. What is that? Something that pulls you toward action and revolutionary change in your life.
  18. No one is. I simply say it’s “you” as an oversimplifcation — because of how limited human language can be.
  19. Thank you egoless. I’m happy for you. Goodbye. Have a good life.
  20. The authority is the raw observation over theory. By merging with the experience, you become the authority.
  21. Egoless, I’m sorry, but I’ve heard these misconceptions before. I’ve made these ideas myself, and these are completely contradictory to what they mean. You said you’re not looking to change anyone’s beliefs but are just looking for a discussion, so I accept that respectfully. God has a different meaning here than “An all powerful deity and creator” as Christianity says. God here is more similar to the idea of the universe or all, similar to how Pantheism worships nature and the world. It’s an oversimplification, yes, but you are clearly not researching the terms here. Being dead also has a very different meaning here, egoless. It’s not literally the emotionally dead and empty feeling you imagine. It’s not the emotional or physical death you imagine. It’s more of a death of a part of yourself that you need to shed so the good can come. Though, if you’re looking for God, then please go find him in your own way, but at least take time to learn about common misconceptions before making a decision. It’s similar to how people of other religions may have to educate themselves about terms such as the “Holy Trinity” or “Communion” in Christianity. Please provide respect by learning these terms yourself. Thank you, and I support whatever decision you make.
