I think all types of human growth decline at some point under certain circumstances. For example, muscle growth declines when you’re not eating the right food and going to the gym consistently. Does it work the same way with consciousness if you take a break from spiritual work and listening to theory?

I’m sure there are several reasons, but the biggest one I would say is our diet. What foods cause acne? I’ve been avoiding dairy products for awhile now because I found that milk, cheese, etc. caused the most acne on my body. Although lately I’ve been noticing a bit of acne appear on my arms again and I think it might be something I’m eating but I don’t know what it is.. What I eat regularly is: - A bowl of oatmeal, oat clusters, chocolate almond milk and a banana for breakfast. - Lunch would usually be lemongrass chicken and rice, + veggies. Or a double chicken burger from A&W. - Then for dinner I just started working at a vegan/vegetarian restaurant that provide free meals so I would have one of their menu items. But all their food is non-dairy, vegan-friendly, so I don’t know if my acne comes from their food. Could the acne be caused by deep fried foods? Sometimes there would be a mistake bowl of fries laying around and staff would eat them, including me. We use canola oil for fried foods so I’m guessing that could be a reason for it. Thanks

Sometimes I feel like I might just grow old without a partner. I wouldn't say its the looks, I say its my personality. Quiet at times, and sometimes a bit standoffish. If I had to be honest with myself I consider myself a bit above-average in terms of looks, but 5'6 in height. I felt that I've had so many "potential" girls I could've dated in the past but somehow I kept messing it up with something I say or do. I will say that I used to party a lot and made out with a few girls, fingered one girl but that's it. But now I don't do any of that and nothing has happened for a while now. Also, I used to do pickup. Hundreds of cold approaches, a ton of numbers, but only scored 2 or 3 dates. I've been swiping on Tinder in my city for 3 years now, on and off. It was doing somewhat well for me in the beginning but now I feel that I've probably ruined my reputation on that app that it's been quite dry for me lately. Although when I try another app these days, same results, few matches. These days I don't even feel like going out and trying anymore. How has it been that long and I haven't found anyone. Usually happy with myself but I just feel that I'm getting too old without a partner. what should i do
-
@universe What I meant by ruined my reputation was that I kept deleting and re-opening my account with different shitty bios that girls probably saw me multiple times and either swiped left or right on me multiple times. When you delete your account and re-open it, you will show up again for a girl who swiped left or right on you. Especially the ones who unmatched you. I probably said some dumb shit to some girl, then I get unmatched, and when I re-open my account again, I most likely show up again on that girl's tinder. I understand there's no "hidden network" that girls talk about guys on Tinder, but I will say, there has been one match I had where the girl mentioned that she talked about me with her friends who were also on Tinder, about me. They probably thought I was cute, then I said some asshole shit to her and they quickly realized I was garbage. This was during my pickup days when I turned into a devil. When I was doing pickup, I treated girls like garbage in-person and on Tinder because I thought it was attractive. The more I did that, the more of an asshole I became. So ok, understandable how I was rejected a lot in pickup back then. But these days, how I talk to girls, I probably do a lot of small talk to the point they get bored. Or maybe I don't know how to add sexual tension in there. I keep testing different things with each girl and over analyzing everything which could be a reason why I always mess up.

This question always crosses my mind. As life goes by, I often feel that I need to work on my finances at one point, then spiritual work on another. Sometimes I'm in survival, business hustle mode, then several months later I'm dealing with some emotional or psychological issue. For example when I'm in survival mode, I could focus for months on some business experiment I'm doing, then all of a sudden I might feel lost in this world, so I seek the truth and I turn towards meditation or Leo's videos. I feel like the answer is: balance. And I have a feeling someone will probably post that answer here. At this moment in my life, I took a couple months off doing and studying any spiritual or "business" work. Haven't been watching a ton of Leo videos, finance videos, and stopped my meditation habit these past few months because of a bit of a downturn. But just got back from a beautiful vacation last month, got a decent paying job at a vegan stage green restaurant, and things are doing quite well now. Now I'm not sure which direction to go exactly. At this point I sort of want to be more open and loving with people, because I still feel a bit cold and distant from just almost completely transitioning out of spiral stage Orange, but I still haven't handled my finances yet. I still earn an hourly wage from a job, and I want my own business of some sort to earn passive income to quit my job. I'm really considering trying Kundalini yoga for the first time. Or should I wait on that and focus on business like selling on Amazon, or trading financial markets? Thanks
-
@Knock That’s not what I meant and definitely did not say anything along those lines. What I’m saying could mean focusing on business for the next 25 years to get something going, before I do spirituality work like kundalini yoga. Leo even suggests this in his wage slavery video I believe. He mentions that if you’re young and someone who isn’t much of a spiritual person yet, then pursue full financial independence before meditating your ass off and doing a ton of spiritual work. I posted this thread to get some opinions around that. And that’s what Leo did. He built his business before Actualized.org, made $1M I believe, dropped that business then started Actualized.org. In the beginning, his videos were very basic, then as time went on he focused more on spirituality, and he was probably doing very well financially at that point. 6-12 months is definitely not enough for someone to build a long lasting business and to make money for the rest of their life.

@Shiva Sounds like your opinion on what defines "wage slavery" somewhat changed based on our last conversation we had if you remember lol. But I'm curious, what is an example of these "great employment opportunities"? What do you do? Would you consider work as a doctor or nurse to be "wage slavery" even though they probably earn over six figures a year? How about a graphic designer? What about a software engineer? Technician? Accountant? They all probably earn decent money, but do you consider them to be wage slaves? What's the difference between a McDonalds employee and an Accountant? In your definition, why does "wage slavery" have to mean that the job is boring just to pay your bills? Who says its boring and not fun? Who says wage slavery doesn't include employment opportunities that contribute to society? The simple definition that I always thought of about wage slaves is that they work for a company, to earn wages. It doesn't matter if they're doing something meaningful or not, if they're earning a wage in some shape or form, then they're a wage slave. If they have to show up to work at a scheduled time and put in the hours to avoid getting fired then that's a wage slave. The only way to not be considered a wage slave is if you earn profits or live freely in the wild. I'm a wage slave, and I don't deny it. Hell if you want, we can make up a term for the sake of this conversation and call entrepreneurs "profit slaves." They're slaves to the profits, spending all their time working 16 hours a day on their business. Profit slave. Doesn't matter if they're doing something fun or boring, meaningful or not, pay bills or pay for their vacations and a new lamborghini, they're a profit slave. We're all slaves to money either way anyway. Shiva, your thinking and your posts always remind me of @aurum

Just looking for a quick answer. I remember Leo mentioned in his "How to shop for healthy food" video, saying that corn is on the list of foods to avoid. I don't remember what he said but if anyone could remind me that would be appreciated. If I google it, mainly all I see are the health benefits of corn.
-
@pluto But is this the reason that Leo mentioned about corn in the video? Because I’m sure he didn’t say soy was unhealthy just because its GMO. Aren’t all the other non-organic vegetables GMO as well? I’ll probably watch the video again when I have the time.

Few suggestions: - A bowl of oatmeal with a scoop of peanut butter and almond milk in the morning is a personal favorite of mine - Chickpeas contain a decent amount of protein - Peanuts or almost any other kinds of nuts - Not sure which country you're in but here in Canada they have a new vegan burger patty trend going on, called the "Beyond Meat Burger." Contains no soy or gluten, main ingredients are water, pea protein isolate, canola oil, and refined coconut oil. - Black beans, pinto beans just to list a few. No soybeans/edamame beans. - Personal favorite vegetable protein source: Broccoli or cauliflower

Ha, I know his channel. I don't watch him often but I've watched a few of his videos and just like the post above, I doubt he's enlightened. I obviously don't know him personally but from what I know, apparently he used to make videos of himself on his other channel "SoLLUMINATI" talking crap about other Youtubers and spreading a ton of negativity. But then he broke up with his recent ex-girlfriend, did a 360, and all of a sudden he's all spiritual now within' a few months? I don't know the exact details about why they broke up, but I've checked out one of her videos on her channel and she talks about spirituality and how toxic the relationship was with SoLLUMINATI. So with that being said, she's definitely the one who broke up with him, and I believe that he started his "Spiritual So" channel mainly because of her and as an attempt to get her attention back? Honestly these are all assumptions of mine, but I'm just saying, anyone could watch videos of spiritual theory then preach it to others. It doesn't mean he's "woke". At the time of writing this, I just watched his video on KFC's vegan chicken. He mentions that he's only been on the journey for 4 months now, and been a vegan for 3 and a half months. Final opinion on him, great that he's promoting spirituality in this type of hip-hop/basketball/black community, but his videos seem to me like a copy and paste of other videos that talk about the Third Eye.

I'm writing this based on my own observations of some of the people around me, and a few of my previous personal objections. The content on Actualized.org has definitely become a lot more advanced over the years, and a lot of newbies are getting left behind. Plus I'm sure there's a lot of new people coming in and watching Leo's newest videos without a clue of what he's talking about. It basically sounds like he's talking about superpowers that you see in the movies. I admit I haven't been doing a lot of growing lately even though I've been around since 2014, and I still consider myself somewhere between beginner to intermediate with this work. Although, I am extremely open-minded to the information here, but that doesn't mean anything if I haven't been growing. All the content makes sense to me, I understand it almost completely, but I haven't actually fully experienced any of it myself. God is everything, I am God, you don't exist, this is all an illusion or God's "dream", life/death is an imagination, everything is one, love = hate, hate = love, everything comes full circle, truth is way beyond language and human understanding, language is limited, truth is right here and right now no matter what, I get it. But what is the point of knowing all this without experiencing it? What sort of bothers me is when people on this forum say these things to others when they ask a 'newbie' question like "How do I get more money?" Then one person comes in and says things like "You don't exist so why even bother? Why work?" Don't they see that its clear they're probably new to all this information, and they won't get what you're saying? It makes me doubt their own personal growth. I probably won't get anywhere with this thread other than more understanding, but I'm writing it anyway. So basically, it seems like the results you get in self-actualization = Tolerate EVERYTHING. God is everything, everything is love. Then people on this forum try to communicate that to others saying "you can outgrow your environment" "you don't exist. its just a dream." So it's fine that you live in the poor side of the city where there's gang violence, drug dealing, rape, murder, all that, and you're saying we can suddenly just outgrow it? No need to move out? Just meditate there, do psychedelics and yoga then you're fine? If your employer fucks you over illegally do we tolerate it and leave it? If someone steals from your bank account its okay? Definitely a lot of miscommunication going on, and some don't take into consideration of other people's situations. One person probably has a handful of issues living in a 3rd world country then one person from a comfortable 1st world country comes in and talks to him like he has all the comfort he has. Sorry little bit of a rant there. But, I guess the main question here is that do we eventually tolerate most things as we grow? Do we not take necessary action to make the situation better? Or do we take the necessary action still, but from a place of love and unconditional happiness?
-
@Leo Gura Okay here's a better newbie question. So hate = love, love = hate, as the advanced individual they see both as the same thing because in non-duality everything is one. Does that mean they're basically blind to the fact that people fuck you over and deceive you, since hate and love are the same thing? Or are they instead hyper aware of spotting the bullshit in others but they come from a place of detachment and love? From what I would expect its most likely the latter, and I would say that they probably experience a heightened sense of empathy for those who are ignorant enough to do such a thing to others. Am I correct? For example, the advanced self-actualized individual hears about about a recent mass shooting. That individual would just experience pure love and empathy for the shooter and those involved? But why couldn't it be a place of hate since its the same thing as love? Does it ever come from a place of hate as the self-actualized individual? Does God ever hate? If no, why not? Why does it have to be love rather than hate?

A thread for us to go deeper into the understanding of “Money Psychology.” (mods please don’t move this to the “Life Purpose, Career” sub-forum.) Leo has some really good points in his Money Psychology video, and I’m just wondering if anyone has any additional insights on the topic. Any explanations on healthy or unhealthy behaviors or mindsets that you may notice around you are welcome. An unhealthy mindset that I’ve noticed with some of the people around me is a “careless spending” mindset. It seems to come from a place of acting as if they’re rich or that they don’t worry about money. “$8? Pshh, who cares.” With that mentality, it almost doesn’t matter what the dollar amount is. It’ll be the same for any dollar amount then eventually they’ve emptied their pockets. I had the same mentality a few years back and it really burned a huge hole in my pockets. “$800 flight? Whatever.” “$180/hr for a stupid arm tattoo? Sure.” A healthy mindset around money that I’ve adopted these days, is that I tend to think from the perspective of the business, and try to find an alternative for the purchase. For example, a whole watermelon is $7, but grocery stores will literally rip people off and charge $7 for 1/8 of a watermelon, all chopped up in cubes and ready to eat. Or when it comes to eating out, one meal of chicken rice and veggies is $9.99, when you can buy 9 pieces of raw chicken thighs for $10 at the grocery store and just cook it yourself. And last example is that most products are imported from China and these companies sell it for up to 10x the price. Just buy it online from China instead. Of course these businesses are saving us time by making it more convienient for us, but a lot of the time our purchases are quite unecessary. It just ends up with us wondering where all our money went, and happy business owners. What I’m talking about may seem shallow to some of you, but I’d love to hear your own insights.

I used to do the same back in high school. Bought the nice clothes like the $300 True Religion brand jeans to impress the cool kids. Nowadays I think it was a stupid decision. All those clothes are now sitting in my closet and I don't even wear them anymore, now they're worn out and worthless. My old iPod touch gadgets are now worth nothing when I bought them for $200-$400 back in the day. I even used to care about the car that my parents picked me up in, I told them to park far where no one could see. If we got a decent rental car, it was fine and I was ok with being picked up in it. Its all ridiculous, it doesn't make a difference. If I had the nice things its not like everyone wanted to be my friend now. It's all about who you are as a person, the energy you put out, your personality. Anyways, its not worth it. You need new friends. I don't even see or hang out with the people I tried to impress anymore these days. Isolate yourself you will realize that you don't need anyone.

This is a very practical topic that I learned from a YouTube channel named "Andrew Kirby". Basically he talks about how important it is to change your environment in order to form new habits, or to get rid of addictions. I've always had this as an idea in the back of my mind and I never really acted upon it, but this channel really confirmed it for me. It sounds like common sense but as an example, in order to stop eating unhealthy food, all you have to do is to remove it from your house. As another example, the common one that you hear all the time in personal development is to change the people you surround yourself with if they're toxic and dysfunctional. Would we all agree with this theory? In my situation, I find that it would really help if I moved out of my parents house. I just often find myself doing the same exact thing year after year playing video games in my room. I always set ambitious goals for myself and work on them for a couple months but then I often get distracted. I just personally think that the environment that I'm living in is such a huge reason why I keep falling off. One of the main reasons is that I feel too comfortable living with my family. Even though I still pay rent, its like I'm still a teenager again living off the support of my parents. So its really my goal to hopefully move out this year or in the beginning of next year. Any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.

Okay I asked both of you what you mean by "box". @possibilities is literally speaking irrelevant nonsense and is acting as if he's onto something, and @hamedsf is the one with the clear and beautiful explanation thank you for that. Although I still feel that this advice is irrelevant to what I'm talking about in this thread. Basically the idea is to change your environment in order to remove yourself from a toxic environment, get rid of addictions, and to build better habits. That's as practical as it can get. From what you two are suggesting, is to stay in the environment and instead of changing it, expand it. That is my understanding of what is being said here. But I don't see how that would help in my situation or in the situation of someone who lives in the hood with shootings everyday, drug dealings, etc. Best advice for that person would be to remove themselves from that environment.
-
@Sahil Pandit Could you say the same for those who live in the ghetto? Maybe where there’s a ton of gang violence, and drug dealing going on? Not saying that’s me but personally I wouldn’t say I live in the greatest household. I remember reading a post on these forums where someone was living in Isis I think it was, and he was having difficulty doing the self-actualization work. In that situation the best thing you can do (if you have the option) is to remove yourself from that environment. Of course its a trap of the mind, but its good to implement practical ideas as well. Especially for those who aren’t psychologically and spiritually developed past their external circumstances.

What exactly is this “box” you guys are talking about? In my opinion it sounds a bit philosophical rather than a practical idea. How exactly do we expand this “box”?

Sounds fun and exciting, good luck! There's a guy on Youtube named "willy beck", not sure if you know him. This thread just reminded me of his channel and basically his story is that he was a hobo and he did pickup. Pulled girls and took them behind dumpsters and everything lol. Plus he also started his pickup channel/business and it seemed to do pretty well, he was working with the SimplePickup guys. I can say it's worth checking out if you haven't already

@Rohit N I've heard the same statement used often in personal development as well and I can agree with it. Although, I find it to be true only in certain contexts. For example, how you treat people is generally how you tend to treat everyone else. Or how you handle certain situations is generally how you would handle every other situation. But of course you mentioned that this statement is conflicting with another idea, in which that idea seems agreeable as well. In your personal development journey, you will end up finding that many ideas are partially true and that they often conflict with another. Its because many ideas come only from a certain perspective. Although, we can't just say that this statement is false or conflicting, there are other things to take into consideration. Such as time, likes & dislikes, and skill. In the example of amazing musicians and treating their health like crap, there's a possibility that they've allocated all their time into their music, that they have no time at all to work on their health. So we can't say that just because this person is a good musician, it means he's also a fitness expert. No its because he's put so much time into his music since 10 years old, and he's reached a point where his music becomes second nature. A point where he doesn't even have to try. If he's at a point where he doesn't have to try with his music, then maybe the statement is true in this case and he does the same with his health. You mentioned you hate cleaning and cooking so you hired someone else to do it for you. I'm going to assume that you're excellent at certain things, but not cleaning and cooking which is why you're probably asking this question. There are several possibilities here. You don't have the time to work on cleaning and cooking, you already put all your time into other skills, and/or you just don't like cleaning and cooking. Obviously we can't take the statement, "How you do everything is how you do anything" to the extreme. Just because you're a great programmer or an NBA basketball player, doesn't mean you'll treat cooking, cleaning, and everything else in the entire world the same way, that's just not how life works. There's only a limited amount of time to work on certain things, and your attitude towards your favorite thing in the world won't be consistent with everything else. There's also the idea that we as humans have an inclination to take the path of least resistance. In the musician example, let's say the musician loves music and its easy for him, so in this case he's still taking the path of least resistance. But when it comes to health, working on your health is something that is difficult for most people. Let's say this musician has never been healthy before, so he would rather just take the path of least resistance and sit on the couch than to care of his health. In your situation with cooking and cleaning, you hired someone else to do it for you so there you go, you took the path of least resistance.

In any area of our lives, would we all agree that using heavy manipulation or overcommiting yourself to acquire an internal or external result, results in failure in some way? For example, I definitely see it with the use of steroids and building muscle. Steroids are a way to manipulate muscle growth in the short-term, but over the long-term if you stopped taking them you would go back to your original muscle size before you starting taking them. It also leads to death with consistent use. I don’t see it being sustainable to use steroids one-time, gaining that much muscle in a short period of time, and being able to maintain that muscle over the long-run. How about with your work? Overcommitment leads to burnout over the long-term? I feel that people in SD Stage Orange tend to use a lot of manipulation in order to achieve significant results. Why is that? I guess it can be a useful tool in some cases. For example using manipulation to acquire a sale from a one-time customer. In relationships, manipulation leads to failure. I probably answered my own question at this point but I’m interested in everyone’s thoughts.

Found a valuable video on Youtube about motivation and discipline. Really glad I watched the video.
