When my mind says I don't give a crap about self inquiry should I ask who doesn't give a crap about self inquiry? Who is wanting to do self inquiry? Who thinks self inquiry can do anything anyway? Who? Who? Who! WHO!

You may have the self awareness to realize that 'I am not my thoughts' but when you talk about the unconscious bias being a disease most people less self aware of this will take what you say as you calling them it. Although I'm tired of going around and around on this, go ahead and cling to your metaphor but you are contributing to the perpetuation of it even if you don't intend to when you use it.

Not political, just moderate in general in relation to those who have extreme bias and behavior with regard to this particular topic.

You can idealize the awakening process as much as you like consider your own efforts as such as much as you want but eliminating the discrimination behavior and the suffering that comes from it is the goal. Extremists are the few who purposefully and consciously behave from that bias aren't the ones who will be swayed by any reasoning, it's the moderates who are the majority that mostly have unconscious bias we are hoping to awaken them to. By using language that characterizes them as a disease which virtually all have had someone they love taken from them by it doesn't serve the goal and can push them away from the middle towards the extreme. If the past decade isn't proof of that I don't know what more can show you that. Healing people with embracing language in awakening them seems more likely to have the desired effect of motivating them to change it because the era of vitriolic social media mobs attacking at every perceived violation has only created more extremists. You may be a moderate person reaching out to other moderates but if you adopt the language of the extremists it can lead to more extremists in reaction. Moderates are the majority and if we want to shift the collective bias away from what contributes to discrimination and suffering we do it by awakening the moderates that may be unconsciously participating in it to that and allow that to motivate them to change it. This will create the dynamic of shifting the whole window of collective experience to a more inclusive and equal personal experience.

Of course it's difficult to do, otherwise it would have been done already but how does comparing someone to a disease make it any easier? It doesn't, although, it does make the moralizer feel better about themselves through the negative comparison, that's why they do it. That's the definition of 'self-righteous' and it isn't too effective in awakening people to their unconscious bias. If the goal is to awaken people to it and motivate them to change it then results should matter more than a self appeasing method.

From my understanding a cell that has mutated to switch off the natural apoptosis process and reproductive regulation will cause that mutated cell to rapidly turn into tumor of many cells like that mutated cell. Yes, as you suggest the body will spur angiogenesis to feed the rapidly growing area of cells unbeknownst that it is feeding a monster..... sort of like youtube videos and the alt-right... hah. There has been some research that shows that some cannabinoid(s) by still some unknown mechanism switches back on the apoptosis process of those cells so the tumor will begin killing itself. As well as the cannabinoids by some still unknown mechanism spur angionecrosis to starve it. The research is still early to know for sure but it seems the endocannabinoid system may have function of being a 'switchboard' where it passes information or blocks information between systems and within cells. I had an old laptop with dozens of bookmarks to the different studies/research and such about them that is gone now. I haven't taken the time to locate all of them all again, I should do that some day,

The only way to raise awareness about it is to perpetuate it? It's the very same type of moralizing bias and behavior that JP is using when he creates the impression he's on the good, right and true side and anyone else who doesn't agree with him is bad, wrong and lying. Raising awareness with healthy discussion that doesn't immediately make others feel persecuted for something that they may not even be aware of since it is quite often unseen to them as you point out will gain more acceptance to accomplish the goal than using accusatory language. You are good with words, use them in ways to liberate people from the bias-behavior, not trigger them into a defensive posture.

Well, you know that you are perpetuating a bias-behavior that creates discrimination and suffering by willingly participating with using some metaphor because you think it is more important to use it than eliminating that bias-behavior cycle then you are part of the metaphor you use. Your own bias-behavior is contributing to it, not altering or eliminating it.

You're missing the point. It's all bias and behavior although when one characterizes one kind as a disease it doesn't resolve the situation, it just perpetuates the negative bias and behavior pattern. Yes, we are trying to recognize and alter the bias and behavior that creates discrimination and suffering to cease it but your choice of metaphor perpetuates a negative perspective no matter how apt or accurate you think it is.

I have no idea what any of that means. I prefer to keep my mind clear of any stuff like that. No complicated bullshit, just simply awareness and presence of being. If you don't want to be played with anymore then stop playing along with it. Burn all that stuff down and let the ashes blow away. When you are hungry, eat. When you are tired, sleep. When you are cold or hot use shelter or clothes. When you are bored, let life entertain. When the mind goes off on that other stuff, just shrug it off, don't believe it, don't agree with it, don't endorse it, don't identify with it, just set it on fire and let the ashes blow away. The manifest existence is fire of change.

If that's what you believe then so be it.... for you.

Let me recontexualize it for you to see if it may help this cycle you think you are in. It's not your past lives, it's all lives, it's all life. Your ego is trying to tell a story of past lives to identify with it to justify what it believes it is and what you do in service to this identity. Just let go of the idea and every time the ego wants you to agree with it, don't endorse it and say 'it's all lives, it's all life, i am here now'. So just be present in this moment. It may take awhile but eventually the ego will let go of that idea and just be present because the ego is just recalling the past to create it's identity so give it 'presence of being' to believe in. It's that simple.

Ask yourself if the answer to that question would quench the existential yearning of ego to justify itself through self identity or would you just be on to the next question to seek an answer for.

I'm not criticizing the preference of which story someone wants to believe in and tell of themselves. Whether it's native humanism or non-duality mysticism or born again Christianity or atheist or whatever someone believes is their identity story. I'm making aware that it is still ego seeking validation through the story of the story of the self identity. Is my story 'presence of being'? Sure, but it's not much story to tell. Yearning for proof of identity is the root of self suffering, contentment in presence of being is liberation from self suffering.

Who would have thought that people can have so much to say about something that they believe doesn't exist. It's the spiritual journey equivalent of mime.

It's humorous that it took him 20 years of seeking to figure it out, only after a few years of seeking I realized the simplicity of it and have lived in this simplicity of just being for decades. Although, he still hasn't transcended the story of the story to the simplicity of just being, he keeps rewriting the story about the story to accommodate his desire to be right, to have the truth, to preach to others and call out others as wrong and false...... yep, more duality. So, am I calling him out as 'wrong' or 'false'? That's not the point, he has plenty of 'right' information.... undoubtedly there is 'wrong' information, too. We all have accurate and inaccurate information and perceptions, this is all part of life and wandering this physical manifest. Although our natural expression of self will get consumed with the story of the story, to justify our identity and feed the ego's craving for validation. Transcending this desire for 'proof' of being and simply awakening to presence of being is the liberation from this existential yearning and ceases the cause of self suffering. .....oh, and this thread again? This is problematic, too. Suggesting it's an illness like cancer which further demonizes people and actually perpetuates racial bias. Let's seek to transcend it, not just flip it around or change the roles of it. We can attempt to expose it and resolve it without creating another obstacle to overcome in doing so.
