I wasn't able to see the video because it's not working but judging based on that video picture I would say that some money does help facilitate happiness. Obviously having too much money just becomes redundant. But having enough for food clothing shelter you know the basics does really help. Having some family is also important for happiness. Look at children that don't have mothers or fathers, they grow up having problems the rest of their life most of them. So having some baseline family is important. As for sex, well sex for some is necessary for happiness that actually depends on genetics. Some people get really horny and have to have sex otherwise they suffer. Fame not so much most people don't need fame for happiness. And if they do they are probably narcissistic. But overall I think ultimately happiness comes from within. Jordan Peterson would say that happiness comes from meaning in our lives which is probably similar to perspective which is what you have listed there. -

Astralpulse.com has a lot of avid astral projectors there that will teach you how to astral project if you get stuck or need help. I can give you some good resources to start out if you like. -

It's important that your realistic in your expectations. That way you can build a plan that won't fail. Psychedelics are shortcuts so if your looking for a path that is short then use psychedelics especially 5-meo-dmt as Martin Ball became enlightened through using it often. PM me if you want more information on 5-meo-dmt. Also if you want another shortcut I recommend astral projection and to some degree journaling. Also no matter what path you take you should have a baseline meditation practice. The good thing about meditation is that it's kind of like riding a bike, you never forget how to do it, and you can always pick right back up where you left off at. -

It takes 5,000 to 10,000 hours to master shamatha/samatha. 50,000 to 60,000 hours to become enlightened as the Buddha. Psychedelics can really help untangle blockages and heal truama deep in our psyche. Personally I recommend psychedelics, journaling, astral projection, and meditation as practices. Yes the spiritual path can be difficult but it's totally worth it. -

Yes I have known for a long time that the Bhagavad Gita is a divinely inspired text. Perhaps not everything in it but a lot of it is full of great truths. Krishna talks like he is Jesus and yet Krishna was before Jesus, so does that mean that Jesus copied Krishna? They are probably both ascended masters. One thing is sure there are masters before us that have paved a good path to spiritual success. -

@Highest It seems that you are just making stuff up on things you know little about. Go learn from the masters before us, those who have paved the way to truth through decades of hard work and dedication. They all teach of karma. Read the book by Howard Storm called "My Decent Into Death." Get the original version. That book will teach you what you need to know. -

Um no. Yes the words themselves are thoughts, but the actual act of "being" isn't a thought. -

"Being", "perception", and "observation" isn't a thought. And yeah that guy does seem a bit crazy. -

Please note that when I use words like evil and angels I am well aware of the religious connotations of those words. But really when I use those words I mean it in the most un-religious way possible. -

Yes the Buddha after his enlightenment went to the hellish realms. And talked in great detail about the torments that they endured in that place because of bad karma. The Buddha said that hell isn't eternal but the beings there have to stay there for a very very long time to work off their karma. I've even talked with a few non-religious people that astral project about the bad lands they visited. If you don't know what astral projection is, it's where someones soul can leave their body at night. Some people are naturally born with this ability while others can train to do it at will. But from what I can gather in learning about near death experiences and astral projection it's very hard for average people to go to the bad lands unless one is taken there either by negative evil entities or by angels. One astral projector even told me that he was taken to the lower astral bad lands by an angel with wings and another guardian angel where he witnessed some of the worst suffering of his life. A place where souls were suffering insurmountable despair and pain. Then he was taken out of that place by the angels. And he said that he couldn't reach that place if he wanted to by himself and he's been astral projecting his whole life. He said the that place is so far out there that he couldn't find it on his own even if he wanted to. And when he was a child he use to astral project to some of the lower realms but that place was even far removed from there. I kept bugging him about these bad lands. Because I had a real fear of hell. And he eventually said they are of their own kind. He doesn't think that people that die here in this world go to the lower bad lands. You can talk to him if you like he frequents the astral pulse forum. But yeah many astral projectors never even see the bad lands much less the lower bad lands. Like I said it does exist, and karma is real, but it really takes great evil things for someone to make it there if at all unless someone one duped into following evil entities into the lower bad lands, as in the case of Howard Storm. -

There seems to be a problem that many people don't want to meditate because they have to work a job, like me. But in America presidential candidate Andrew Yang wants to give everyone UBI universal basic income that would give everyone a $1000 a month. With that kind of money one could conceivably forego many worldly pursues in the goal of meditating many hours a day. I know if they instate a UBI I will give up my job and just meditate all day long. I mean it's not like I have a very important job anyway, I just drive for a living. Meaning I would meditate every day for probably about at least 9 hours a day. I would do it hardcore. Given that I don't think one should give up there job unless they are actually serious about doing meditation full time. What would you do if the government passed legislation giving everybody a $1000 dollars a month? And BTW this isn't socialism. Read some of the basics from Buddhism, Zen, Jainism Hinduism and even Christianity all state that your actions do follow you. In particular meditational religions all say that there is karma. This karma is what determines your next reincarnation. Especially if one leads others astray and cause suffering to others this kind of karma is really bad. -

As long as you are attached to your actions karma applies and you do exist as of right now. Until you have surpassed all of samsara you still exist and every action you take causes a reaction from karma. -

@thesmileyone You try convincing a 49 year old truck worker that they should learn to code or get into STEM. Pff what a crazy idea. Only a small fraction of those people will actually be able and willing to do such a feat. -

Certain foods trigger nightmares. Or perhaps you were a solider in a past life and your subconscious mind is still trying to process that trauma. -

Yes an no. Yes you do exist. You have built up unique patterns of conscious intent through ages of evolution through reincarnation. But at the same time once you reach salvation through some form of enlightenment all that stuff of you falls off. And you are just left with the will of God acting through you. So with that as of now you do exist. Don't believe this hocus pocus that you don't exist. This is a good way for people to not take any responsibly for their actions and it's effects. Karma still applies to you and all of us, so don't delude yourself. -

I think emptiness is just a deeper experience than being omnipresent. There is suppose to be something like 27 ways to dissolve the mind into conscious awareness. -
AstralProjection replied to Monkey-man's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
The reason why is that enlightenment doesn't mean you are inherently good or inherently bad. Enlightened people still have to learn from the external world through trial and error. The Buddha didn't know the scientific method upon enlightenment but he did come close to it. People that are enlightened can be delusional for somethings. That is why they must ground their mind in the science of the external world too for optimal results. There is an internal subjective science of meditation and an external science of the psychical world. Meditation is the tool of the subjective science, and the microscope and telescope are the tools of the objective science. Both serve their own purposes and both have pros and cons. -

Often times soul and spirit are used interchangeably. But there are some differences. Spirit is eternal but IMO soul may not be eternal. A soul is more of the gross external multidimensional self. Whereas a spirit has more to do with a higher multidimensional self. A soul can change over time where as a spirit is eternal. Basically a soul is a conglomeration of spirit particles. That is the way I see it at least. A soul is the consciousness of your being. The soul is the mental patterns that stay with you from this life to the next and the next through reincarnation. The soul stores ones intent. As intent is what stays with you from one incarnation to the next. The soul at death can go to the upper reals/dimensions or it can go to the lower ones at death. Meditational religions have warned that if you have a bad death with lots of suffering just before death that you increase your chances of going to a hellish dimension at death. Which is why I plan on ending my life on my own terms with a peaceful method when I am an old man, which is many years from now. The Buddha warned that bad people can go to heavenly realms and good people can go to hellish realms depending on what kind of death they have, but overall it evens out throughout many reincarnations. Given that from what I understand it's very hard to make it to a hellish dimension in general by studying NDEs near death experiences. That is unless one is duped into following negative entities into the dark lower dimensions as in the case of Howard Storm. Howard Storm talks about this in his book My Decent into Death. Also it might be that if someone is blown up into pieces by a bomb that they will be dismembered in the afterlife, IDK for sure but I am not ruling that out. Or perhaps only healing of that kind can occur in the upper dimensions. -

OK well what would your plan be once automation significantly effects job prospects? Oxford did a study and found some 47 percent of jobs could be automated in the coming 20 years. My brother makes 100K a year as a computer programmer and even he admits that we will have to eventually instate a UBI. Though his time frame is further out than mine. -
