This is just a phase or stage, it will pass. "First there were mountains, then no mountains, then mountains again". You're at the no mountain stage. Or "Wisdom is knowing I am no-thing, love is knowing I am every-thing, in between my life moves " You need to realize that you are also every-thing and move between wisdom and love. Btw, several yrs ago, on another forum, I wrote a similar post (or similar intention) and I had titled it, "Tired of the play".... very similar to your thread title and I was having the same issue.

I've been put under 4 times and always awoke when they moved my body from the surgery table (a couple times asking when surgery would start-...they laughed). I didn't remember a thing from the actual surgery. Now, my sister wakes up in recovery room screaming, every time, she doesn't know why she's screaming exactly, but guess the nursing staff told her it happens to some ppl, but once she was re-oriented to what was going on she was fine.

Where ever you go, you will take your mind with you. If it's causing you problems here, it will continue there. Do it (whatever that is for you- self inquiry, meditation, etc), right here, right now. Ppl like Ramana were already awakened/ Self realized when he went to the cave to assimilate the Self-knowledge and let any remaining binding desires/fears melt away. But, this is not the path for everyone.

I have very little dream recall...a snippet of a dream 1-2 times a year happens, for about a decade now. Otherwise, just waking and deep sleep. I prefer it this way now...not that there's a choice involved.

Omg, hahaha? And, If you start a thread by saying, "I am enlightened, ....." There's usually a problem (like ur not) or your trying to sell something (books, teaching courses, etc). There's usually a link to their website in the signature area of their posts.

Awakenings are glimpses of your true nature, usually not yet assimilated into ones daily life. Meaning, the tendencies to continue to identify as the mind/body are still strong. Therefore, you are still as bound as ever. Enlightenment or liberation (freedom), imho, is when one no longer "identifies" with the mind/body as "I", but identifies "I" with their true nature, which is awareness (or the Self). Once this happens, one still is "associated" with the body/mind, until the death of the body.

Yes, Nisargadatta used the terms Consciousness and the Absolute. You also could say, the experiencing witness and the non-experiencing witness (although witness, in that sense, would be figuratively speaking). One could also use "reflected" awareness vs "pure" awareness, but regardless, it's the meaning behind the words that matters.

What she examples is a "personality disorder", which are caused by environment/trauma, because they shape the personality. They are not the same as mood or thought disorders. (Ie, mood- Bipolar or thought- schizophrenia )

@EvilAngel ok, well, in my personal life and I'm 48. I only knew 1 other person officially diagnosed with Bipolar. Maybe it's the crowd you hang with???

@Martin123 What? Well, of course I deserve to be Bipolar free. I also have Multiple Sclerosis, since I was 21. I deserve to be free of that too (I do fine tho), but ya know what, I honestly don't worry about either one. I just take my meds and carry on.... I make adjustments, as needed.

I choose to not live in denial. It's extremely important that if you have been properly diagnosed by a psychiatrist with Bipolar that you're medication compliant. It's irresponsible to tell ppl otherwise. Unless you would like them becoming manic or suicidally depressed on your shoulders? I'm a suicide surviver -year 2009. So, don't lecture me.

I have Bipolar 2. My mother who didn't raise me past 5 yrs of age had Bipolar 1. Medication compliance allows me to function properly, then like any other person emotional/mind/body has to be addressed as things arise. I'm also a nurse and worked on a psych unit for a time, so have professional experience as well.

@Jack River That's only diabetes caused by obesity. Not all diabetics are sugarholics or obese.

Oh, and regarding the amount/rate of diagnosis, which I don't know what it is or why you think it's high. Perhaps some are not being diagnosed properly by a psychiatrist.
