Interesting.... I think since you're soooo close to getting it you should just finish. I went to cosmetology school in high school got licensed then only did it as a career for 1 1/2 yrs, but I never got rid of the license to this day. I pay my dues and keep it in escrow, just incase! Then, when I was getting my associates in nursing I knew after the first year of nursing school I didn't really want to be a nurse. However, everyone talked me into keeping with the degree. I've been a nurse for 13 years and I still don't like it too much.

Have you walked around Walmart lately? I see 5/10 guys with women all the time. ALL THE TIME. The women are also 5/10, but so what?

@The Don Aww❤, well, live and learn, right? Don't be too hard on yourself. Since she is a work colleague its a good thing you weren't pushy. I read somewhere that its okay to ask out a colleague without crossing the line, but as soon as they say "no" any further pursuing could be considered a type of harassment. Best to look for relationships outside of work, imo. This way you don't have to feel awkward at your job. Good luck.

@Username Sorry that happened to you. I was assaulted 2 times in my neighborhood by a group of ppl as a kid (first time- 1 girl and 2 guys, second time- 3 guys). It took a bit of time to recover psychologically, but it didn't have lasting effects really. They all were just bullies having fun slapping me (a young girl) around while I was out by myself on my bike. I wasn't even 10 yet. The second time i lived around the corner, I ran home, me and my dad went out in the car looking for the guys. We found them...lol. I'll leave it at that! Come to realize you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. If it makes you feel better take a self defense class or maybe karate? Just recently I started carrying a pocket knife, because I felt vulnerable for a few reasons. Anyways, it makes me feel better that I could defend myself if needed.

I'm in Northern Ohio and absolutely nothing is going on, as far as I know, but we are in the purple.
-
The county I live in has now turned purple due to the rise in covid cases. Where I work more and more of our patients now have covid then ever before. I say, bring on the vaccine. I'm sick of this shit! If I get sick I'll deal with it.
-
As I said, I'll be one of the first to take the vaccine I suppose, since I'm in healthcare . I also have MS which is autoimmune so I'll let ya know how it affects me, if at all.

This ^ is how I feel too.

If it will lead to regret and suffering then try to go do something else. Go see a movie, go bowling, call a friend. My brother in law is a seriously addicted gambler. He lost his house and cars before. Just say NO.
-
I'll be a guinea pig since I'm a nurse. They will give it, probably make it mandatory, for all healthcare workers to take it first. Hope we survive or there won't be any healthcare workers left to take care of anyone else.

Thank you Your welcome. You can PM me if it would help. -
I have a sugar issue also. I don't have to have it daily, but almost. Its my last addiction really. When I quit smoking 3 years ago it got a bit worse. My diet in general sucks lately. Stupid food!? I was doing well, then went on vacation and it all went to shit. Anyways, in the past I've calorie counted to gain back control over how much and what kind of food I eat. I'll probably do that again here soon. Its not abstaining from sweets, but it only allows them occasionally or in small amounts to stay within my daily calorie range.

Aww, well, been there before. I remember when I thought I could never, ever, ever live without smoking or vaping. I even vaped in the airport and on the plane when I went to Mexico. I could have been arrested. Lol. My best advice is that it would serve your best interest if you quit again RIGHT NOW or it could be months or years from now that you try again. Not even kidding. Start reading again or read ..."Easy way to stop smoking" by Allen Carr. You can read it on pdf online. Putting a link to it is against forum guidelines, so I can't do that.?

I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at 21. I fit the predisposition of someone who could get it. It's most prevalent in white, females that live (were raised) north of the equator and a trigger may be a viral illness 5 to 10 years prior to onset of symptoms. I could be the poster child. I had mononucleosis so bad at 15 I couldn't go to school for many weeks. My cousin was diagnosed 3 years after I was also. For many years I was afraid and took the intramuscular injections they came out with for "disease modification" which didn't seem to help me. After about 15 years I had enough. I stopped everything. I stopped seeing my neurologist except when absolutely necessary, stopped the injections and stopped talking about it. When absolutely necessary we would treat acute symptoms with high dose steriod packs (no longer the IV....I refused). I can't explain it, but I got better. After awhile I let my neurologist do the first brain MRI in 5 years and compared to my last MRI ...my lesions were shrinking. There were some new areas, but they were small and scattered (not any new lesions) and she said, all in all, it was amazing how it was reversing compared to the last MRI. That was probably 4 to 6 years ago now. I honestly don't remember, but I also haven't had to go on steroids since about that long ago now too. Occasionally, I might get a limp or a shaky hand but it doesn't last very long, maybe a day or two. Which is nothing really. I've told this story before on here. I sometimes read a post/thread topic that inspires the story. Otherwise, I really don't think about it and if someone asked me what I think changed the course of this disease I would say I think (I don't know) that I starved it of attention. -

From the Mayo Clinic- Drugs that may be used to treat long-term hiccups include: Baclofen Chlorpromazine Metoclopramide A Doctor may recommend an injection of an anesthetic to block your phrenic nerve to stop hiccups. Another option is to surgically implant a battery-operated device to deliver mild electrical stimulation to your vagus nerve. Also, Breathe into a paper bag Gargle with ice water Hold your breath Sip cold water ........................................... Personally, here is my all time favorite I learned when I worked in an emergency room- A teaspoon of sugar poured as far back as possible in your mouth, then drink an entire glass of water. It affects the vagus nerve, connecting your brain and stomach. The sugar irritates the back of the throat, and in turn, interrupts the spasms. Other then this, acupuncture may work. You'd have to research it. This is all I got, sorry its not an ancient or spiritual technique and you may have already tried many on this list.

Ambien is not a benzo, but it is a sedative type prescription medication for insomnia. I think they can cause dependence for some and therefore might be hard to get. Although, I wasn't given a hard time about it. It didn't work anyways. I take Ativan 0.5mg one per night now for my insomnia, except I switch it up with melatonin sometimes. My doctor didn't go to the Ativan right away. I had to try every other medication there was for sleep first...its been years now since then so I don't remember how many I tried.
-
So, tbh, none of the prescription sleep meds worked for me either. I'm a difficult case as well. So, we resorted to sedatives (benzos). Just one a night and this works, but takes 1-2 hours to take effect.. However, at times melatonin actually works too if I'm already a bit tired.
-
Have you tried medication, ever? I literally can't sleep without it (prescription or sometimes melatonin). A few times I didn't have my medication (once went camping and once went to a hotel by a casino for a night) and I was up all night. Didn't sleep a wink. I was so miserable that in the morning I just went home, instead of what had been planned.
-
Have you tried the melatonin? Up to 10 mg dosage? How much sleep do you get per night? Also, have you consulted a physician?

True and they make it so economical with the yearly one time fee for shipping also. Occasionally, I'll go to order something from another on-line store and am shocked when they add on $12.99 for shipping. Ack. I usually cancel it and find something comparable on Amazon.?
-
Since I live in a more rural area Amazon is a godsend. We only have autopart stores, Family dollar and Wal-Mart. Otherwise, I have to drive 25 minutes for other type of shopping.

Lol! Yes, to top off this year my work decided that around the holidays would be a good time to roll out a brand new electronic medical record program with only zoom teachings, then made us go "live" a week later. Its a complete disaster. ? I haven't seen so many ppl laughing and crying at the same time, ever. But, I'm grateful I have a job and my family is healthy. ❤ -
Life is but a dream!
