Imo, a "no-mind state" is a spiritual myth. However, if you mean, the mind becomes an instrument vs a controlling force, then I agree with that. But, you apparently still don't get it. Anyways, thanks for telling me I'm wasting my time. Peace out. -

Nice save... anyways, the ego just needs to be seen through, not destroyed. The ego is an aspect of the intellect (The I-thought), it is in the intellect where discrimination happens. Therefore, it is the intellect that apprehends it's true nature, as awareness, through Self inquiry. Once this Self-knowledge is "firm", it doesn't matter what the mind does, because it's "seen" as only "apparently" real. Let the storm of thought come, it will also go, as no storm comes and stays forever. -

The mind only needs to become calm and still to apprehend your true nature. The mind doesn't need to cease functioning. For if it did you would be a vegatable. This is a misunderstanding. Notice that you are aware "of" the desire for your mind to "crumble under the pressure". Therefore, the real you, is the witness, of all this, hence no need for the mind to cease functioning, because you are not dependent on the mind, to be aware. The mind depends on you, awareness! -

Tao Te Ching is a text of around 5,000 Chinese characters in 81 brief chapters or sections, so "someone" thought "speaking/writing" WAS necessary. -

Imo, you have to an absolute drive to know the truth. Go to any lengths to find the truth...period. Funny thing is once you find the truth, you realize you were what you were seeking a along. -

Loosening the grip of thought identification is useful, so is seeing/noticing when and why you react negatively. Gaining a clear mind is highly beneficial for Self inquiry, which btw, thought is needed. So, not all thought is harmful or distracting. The issue is identifying yourself with/as the I-thought (ego), as your "true and real" identity. It isnt. It exists, because you experience it, but it's not "real" (it's ultimately illusion). It's just a thought, but it thinks it's real and co-opts consciousness when making its claim. Fully seeing through this illusion and identifying with your true nature as awareness/consciousness first and foremost with just an "association" with/as the "apparent" person, is secondary. But, there has to be a true "seeing" that this is the case. If you can manage all that and never confuse your true identity again. You could say you've obtained liberation, in a sense, or very close to it. -

"The rumor that Rajneesh was poisoned with thallium by operatives of the United States Government is entirely fictional and contradicted by undeniable fact. One of the obvious symptoms of thallium poisoning is dramatic hair loss within seven days of exposure. Rajneesh died with a full beard and no exceptional baldness other than ordinary male pattern baldness at the top of his head. … Radiation poisoning, another fictional cause of his illness, also causes dramatic hair loss." From http://meditation-handbook.50webs.com/osho2.html @Vercingetorixsorry but I don't know how to delete your username when I quoted the post. -

@Vercingetorix he is hiding they are Osho quotes, by not citing his source! Not everyone has read or knows of Osho. -

Perhaps, it's the college English classes I took and many research papers I did. Where you could not duplicate, not even a sentence (word for word) without citing the orginal source. Of course, a forum is not a research paper, but an entire post plagerized? And this is being done over and over by him on this forum. I just think its wrong, on many levels. People posting back to him, as if he wrote what he posted...lol. Then, he searches for more more Osho quotes to post back...What a joke! Absolutely no integrity. -

It's one thing to say your inspired by Osho and his writing or something to this effect (using a short phrase, here or there, which should still be in quotes), it's quite another to have all your posts be his "actual" word for word writings. What would you think of someone who used biblical quotes from Jesus (word for word) on all their posts, trying to pass it off as their own material? It would be ridiculous and that's exactly what you are doing...why can't you see this? Not like I'm saying Osho is/was the same status as Jesus. I'm just making a point here. -

Really?? And just "how" are you so sure that they know? You don't use "quotes" and you don't name the original author? -
Really? Then forget "copyright", it's still plagerism to pass another's work of as your own. I think I learned that in the 4th grade. Unless, it's from a "tradition" where everyone is using the same words/phrases, which is clearly not what you are doing here.

You "quote" the excerpt (in quotes) and state the original author, otherwise you are infringing upon copyright laws. Haven't we been over this? It applies to ALL forums.

UNBELIEVABLE! You are totally plagiarizing Osho from start to finish! Your taking Osho"s quotes and excerpts and trying to make others think they are yours. Simple internet search and your busted. -
Don't tell me you are Borris from the Tolle site! You didn't learn your lesson it seems and plagiarism is your game.
-
Prabhaker is quoting Osho quotes and excerpts without letting you all know! Therefore, you think he's being original, when he's just copying from Osho. When something looks suspicious I look it up by searching on google and what do ya know...it's from Osho. Not "kinda" like Osho, but "exactly" what Osho said. Hhmmmm

Hi, I'm great, I work for 3 more days, then I'm off for 10! I'm going to Las Vegas for 6 of them. Well, with travel time, I'll be there technically 5 days. I've never been there, so it'll be interesting. Ok.. like intuition? -
Let them be whatever they're going to be, but watch your own reactions to them. Mostly, our reactions are just conditioning or programming that is unconscious. So, each time you "catch" yourself doing an unconscious reaction, inquire into why you reacted the way you did. Bring awareness/presence into normal daily activities. You will get better at bringing "awareness" or "presence" to situations "prior" to the reaction. Therefore, watching the situation unfold and speaking/acting consciously vs being controlled by your conditioning/programming from the past. Also, the ego need not and can not be destroyed. It can only be seen as unreal and not who you truly are, therefore trancended. It can go from an immature to a mature ego though, one that knows it's place, so to speak.

Hi, Have you read many books..like Eckhart Tolle, Adyashanti, Mooji? They're good for beginners I think. You could watch youtube videos- Tolle, Mooji, Adya, Rupert Spira. Getting insights/awakenings this way can keep you motivated. I didn't meditate (legs crossed, silent). I did/do Self inquiry and neti-neti. -

Oh, btw, I went to another video of his on youtube and watched for 45 min. That's how I knew I didn't jive with his "higher" self, dimensions, parallels, etc not just the video that was posted. Just thought I'd mention that. -

I don't see it as a problem. I just come from a different tradition. To each there own. To be honest it feels like this guy has made a lot of this up. It's my opinion, you know what they say about opinions, so pay me no mind, what so ever. -
Ananta replied to Martin123's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
The "I AM" is a reflection of awareness within the mind (subtle body), not awareness itself. So, yes, who you truly ARE witnesses even this "I AM". -
Ananta replied to Martin123's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Btw, in Vedanta the term "awareness" "IS" the Self (capital "S"), the ultimate!
