@Barna I don't know if you meant to say that, but it's a little sad that the "only" thing you can promote is 5Meo. What those on drugs seem to fail to realise is that some people are on a path of "mastering" this, and taking 5Meo just seems like a cop out. And that's why I find it so sad that you say it's the "only" thing. Actually it's pretty sad how the whole of this thread went.

Having no free will is not being obligated to do things, like you only did your home work because you had to. No free will would include everything, things you love doing and hate. But the whole process of action is more like a deluded robot, who thinks they are making choices, where there was none.

This isn't childhood, but your story reminded me of a few weeks back. I had a lot of bad luck with health issues, I lost about 80 GB of important data and a whole heap of stress, then I lost my mobile phone. I turned the house upside down over a period of three days and I work at home, there's a lot of stuff to look through. I had just given up on the mobile phone when I went into my office and the monitor in front of me now had UNPLUGGED ITSELF. Yes ... you red it right. It unplugged itself. I bent down to the socket under the desk to plug it in and there under the electrical socket was my mobile phone. Go figure that one out? -

Perfection/imperfection are just labels you put on things. What is.... is. -

# Is music a way of "connecting the dots" in a dualistic world, finding a pattern, albeit mathematical, but still one which can connect in infinite ways, seemingly unconnected patterns and frequencies, and therein lays the attraction of the human mind to music, because we can glance oneness through it; and in turn a metaphor for what it is to be human and the "dance of life."? -
When I was about age 20, a strange thing happened in the middle of the night. I felt the top half of my body lifted into the upright position and the whole room was white, light in every direction and the room was gone. Then I felt every memory I had being searched almost at random, searching, searching searching. It had the feeling of someone else searching, I wasn't in control of it yet I was getting more and more mentally exhausted as it was using my faculties to do the search. I didn't know how to stop it, in the end I shouted, "I believe in God" or something like that, and the light did go and I was so exhausted I fell back into the bed and into a deep sleep. In the morning I recalled it immediately but couldn't believe whether it was true or not.

Yours reminded me of mine at that age, when I would look at the wallpaper which was parallel lines or curves horizontally, when seen in the dim light they would shake violently back and forth. I say violently because it was more than a gentle vibration. -
This doesn't really count as hard core experience but I've said some interesting things to nurses under "pre-med" and to one junior doctore who said, "I'm your surgeon for today", I replied "OH NO."

Unfortunately people are answering you from only the meditative perspective like they do when people ask on here if they should take drugs. Cold will immediately raise your blood pressure and you also risk hypothermia.

But what if it turns out we aren't *special* observers at all. We think we observe, but actually we are just part of the whole machine? (this is where the meditation comes in to see there is actually no observer) -

I haven't watched your video yet but your title prompted the thought, can you hypnotise yourself to see the no-self in meditation? -

I've often felt like posting music as a reply to some threads on here, questions like "What is the meaning of life?" or such profound questions but have resisted the urge. -

Yes, as far as I know, we don't have a choice, but if you *act* as if you don't have a choice, then you've chosen to do so. -
That's the whole point about receptor sites, it works like a key in a lock. There's absolutely no point comparing drugs that look like Serotonin, I've seen it on several posts on this site with misleading comments.

The problem is the implication is nothing really matters on the journey. If one finds themselves on an amazing journey of self discovery, spirituality or just plain old fashioned self improvement during the thousands of hours, who is counting? I'm half expecting some of you to say the complete opposite and that all this self discovery is ball compared to enlightenment, but from this perspective down here it looks like it's all leading up to it anyway. -

Yes, but we all make our choices don't we. So the choice still happens, it was just that every thing in the universe that impinged on that choice including your own DNA and whatever was going through your mind that day was all set in motion a long time ago. If you were to choose that it's not worth doing something because of this very knowledge of predetermination, then that too is a choice. -
Occasionally had sleep paralysis when younger, but about 2 months ago, I suddenly became aware during sleep that I was aware of what must have been rapid eye movement onset. I decided to watch it for a bit but it seemed to get faster and faster and I began to worry I was going to explode my brain. And so I quit.

I'm taking a vacation to the jungle. I'm taking Ekart Tolles book with me. I've only read half the book in 1 year. lol. (thinking about the guy who reads 300 books a day or whatever) lol But I work 9 hours a day 6 days a week and struggle to shave etc regularly, so busy. So... far from being enlightened, over this year I discovered how to find complete bliss, and while I can't actually "do it" unless I'm in the right frame of mind. I tend to know when this is. I still have no idea what bliss means, and Leo's videos don't even mention it. The question is, what happens if I get a break through while in my hotel or out with the spiders and snakes of central America? Anyway, this is just a light hearted question for your ego's entertainment.

"Most of the enlightened people in the world have died almost immediately after enlightenment" < Would make a great movie. Also could explain why a whole bunch of people aren't on this web site. All those people you thought were always complaining about "mental masturbation" have actually all died. -

Just my ramblings... Our brains constantly sample our senses in small chunks and turn them into what looks like a continuous stream steeped in emotion. Music is almost like pre-packaged brain waves comin at ya.
