I don't personally belive enlightenment is a binary state of you are either enlightened or your not. A person who is considered enlightened In some manner or another may be deficient in some other aspect of life. If one belives themselves to possess "true" enlightenment, then they lack humility. -
Generally, dishonest or criminal people come from a place with a lot of fear and pain in their lIves. Responding with the same does not work. Do some people need this style of punishment? Maybe. But your average drug dealer or petty theft guy? No. Most people just need some help finding their place in life. I think that should be the role of rehabilitation. The key point is finding the balance between tolerance and suppression.

Hey Zaza. It's a ruff spot to be caught in the vicious cycle of dispar. The first video Ayla shared has a piece of advice that I wholeheartedly endorse. Surrender to your emotions. Let yourself feel everything, just embrace the pain. I belive it is there for a reason. If you can endure rock bottom, you will be rewarded with a powerful fortitude. It will make you stronger. Best wishes

Thanks for sharing your story! I am curious how many people found their purpose or drive to be better as a result of a broken heart. Seems to be a very common narrative My initial journey down self improvement and mastery began about 6 years ago. I was madly in love with a girl and also just discovered my passion for sound and music. Unfortunately its very hard to love 2 things at the same time and my relationship suffered the more time i spent learning about my passion. In hind-sight I should have seen the disaster coming. Needless to say, things did not end well. I took that pain and flowed everything i could into my music. Young love is one hell of a drug! and the withdrawal symptoms are torturous. I spent years trying to understand why I hurt so bad by the betrayal. Once I was able to forgive her and move on I finally started to make some real progress in life. Looking back now i am very glad things happened the way they did. She made me into a kinder and stronger person and I am very grateful to her for that. Wish her nothing but the best.

Pinocchio and the dream make some excellent points. FOMO or "Fear of Missing Out" is a real problem in modern society. We are all so hyper connected that its almost impossible to follow the mantra of "out of site out of mind". But your perception of lagging behind everyone is just that, a perception. People spend an insane amount of effort on presenting themselves to the world in a very particular and flattering way. Most people do not broadcast their struggles or failures. But rest assured they are there. This video sums it up nicely i think

Nice topic! I am a composer/producer so this definitely resonates with me. I think a topic as broad as self actualizing can be difficult to summarize or express lyrically. Especially because of its inherit subjectivity. So, with that said, my song is an instrumental track that never fails to energize and revitalize my commitment to whatever I am working on in the moment. "Thomas Bergersen - Final Frontier" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAzCf0ascW8 Can you see the end?

Resistance is one of my favorite topics. I am a creative type so I have a daily battle everyday with Resistance in a very overt obvious way. However, even if your not a creative type you still have to deal with it as I am sure you know. The best success i have had is to try to narrow my focus. So if you find yourself being lazy doing nothing just take one step forward. Doesn't matter if its ideal or optimal, what matters is that your doing something. Than take another, and another.Once you do this for a short time you will find yourself with some momentum and a plethora of ideas to contend with. When your in this state you can begin to widen your focus and start to march for your current or long term goal with a renewed vigor.
