Oh I actually thought you were poking fun ?Because obviously Tolle is a 731.8 ?(edit woops I thought that was @Nak Khid replying, so he probably was still poking fun) I think this whole thing is ridiculous. Spiritual dicksizing to the extreme. Except there isn't even a dick to measure, and the dick keeps moving around and changing size, and you have to use a dick to measure the dick. -
We can't claim it's healthier because there's so little data on microdosing. Caffeine has been field tested for thousands of years, by billions of people, and studied extensively in science. It's been shown that consuming caffeine drinks is health-promoting on the whole (reduced rates of: cardiovascular disease, suicide + depression, diabetes, colorectal cancers, prostate cancer .. etc), and this agrees with the folk-acceptance of caffeine drinks as non-dangerous. On the other hand, microdosing is bleeding-edge. It's basically brand new to humanity in terms of field use, and it's barely been studied in science at all. We know a decent amount about the health effects of acute use of psychedelics now, and they turn out to be very safe when used sporadically, but we know almost nothing about chronic use (microdosing). David Nichols (the preeminent psychedelic pharmacologist) and others have raised concerns that because psychedelics like LSD activate the 5HT-2B receptor, that chronic use could lead to cardiac valvulopathy, like we saw with other 5HT2-B agonizing drugs like Fen-Phen. https://heffter.org/microdosing-lsd-research-potential/ Personally, I think this is a very real risk. Until we have evidence that microdosing flies under the levels of 5HT-2B activation that trigger valvulopathy, I'm not going to take the risk. I really hope that it turns out to be a non-issue, because I love microdosing. But until then, I'm keeping microdoses occasional (max 1x/week), saving up my 5HT-2B activation for full fledged trips, and sticking to tried-and-true caffeine for my day-to-day tweak. I might repost this in its own thread, because this risk isn't being talked about enough in all the excitement surrounding microdosing at the moment. I totally respect people's decision to microdose despite the risk, because you have to weigh risks vs. benefit, but it's something people should know about.

I can't see that there possibly could be any downside to that. I think it's a good idea to try different ROAs to see what works for you.

Thats awesome. Yeah I was imagining the foster care to be a tough situation. I feel like child services put kids in foster care way too readily. It should be an absolute last resort. -

Yeah it would be so much worse for your son if you were in jail for killing his abuser. It's better you can be there to protect him, care for him, provide for him. I hope he can heal and grow past the trauma from this in your care. -

Fuck dude I'm so sorry. -
@TrynaBeTurquoise I make noon my cutoff time too, I guess that probably makes me a slow caffeine metabolizer? I didn't realize there were two distinct genetic buckets with this.

@Dimi the only one of those that I've tried is 5-MeO-MiPT. 5-MeO-MiPT is quite different from 5-MeO-DMT. I've taken it probably 3 times, and then a bunch more times as a microdose. It felt very energetic, like if you could turn cinnamon into a psychedelic. It was a bit like magic mushrooms, but much less visual/auditory psychedelia, more amped up, a bit more edgy, a bit more fun, humorous and less likely to go down rabbit-holes. It felt a bit jittery on the comeup, like DPT does, but less extreme. It didn't strike me as a drug for pursuing mystical states so much, more of a recreational trip you might want to take with a bunch of friends or something - but that could be just bias because of the things I had read about it before taking it. Apparently it achieved some popularity as a rave drug for a while, but seems to have fallen off the radar. People were calling it "Moxy" (as opposed to "Foxy" which was 5-MeO-DiPT, and which people seemed to find inferior to 5-MeO-MiPT). Something it does have in common with 5-MeO-DMT is this aspect of being psychedelic without the window dressing. It has that funny quality of being really hard to put your finger on exactly what it is that's different, even when it's dosed quite strong. Conveniently, it's active orally, and I noticed that it stores very well, doesn't degrade easily. I haven't taken it enough times to have a really good handle on it, and it's been a while too. I'd like to try it again.

Yes exactly. Both coffee and tea drinkers live longer than non-drinkers. It's an un-dangerous and healthful habit, unless you take it to extremes. Enjoy your cup, make sure it's coming from an ethical source so that it's not causing suffering in this world. Edit: oh and re: creativity - caffeine doesn't help me to be more creative per se, but it does allow me to be more productive and focused, so you might say it boosts creativity indirectly just in that it creates more space for creativity to occur.

Do you think the world would be a better place if it was more Psychedelic? This is an old, and debatable idea, and there are many different ways to approach an answer. In the early days of the first psychedelic renaissance, back in the 1950-1970s, psychedelics were viewed by many as the antidote to the violence of war, the Gaian response to the invention of the Atom Bomb, and so on. It certainly spurned a cultural revolution in that era. There are different ways to view the history that played out from that time, but by the 80s, psychedelic culture had been driven underground. Only now are we beginning to see a second psychedelic renaissance. I hope this time around we can learn from the mistakes of the past, and do it even better. Perhaps everything is just right as-is, and we should just leave it to unfold as it does. Psychedelics aren't for everyone, and people that are interested are finding their ways towards it. Perhaps this is just-right, and we're at a sweet spot of availability, vs. protecting those who won't benefit. Therapeutic uses are slowly emerging, and becoming accepted, and this is undoubtedly a good thing. Ayahuasca ceremonies aren't too hard to find if you're wealthy, or live in the right place, magic mushrooms can be grown at home, keeners can procure acid from the depths of the internet. But maybe psychedelics are part of the answer to the problems humanity faces, and it's worth taking a more active role in helping to increase access, visibility, de-stigmatize, perhaps even promote.. maybe it would be lazy and irresponsible to sit back and not help this thing grow. Obviously this can go the wrong way, and the last thing we'd like to see is a sort of psychedelic evangelism, but I do wonder if it's worth gently nudging the world in the psychedelic-direction. If so, how hard should the nudge be, how active should one be? If not, what do you think should be done? Maybe even, we should stuff the genie back in the bottle? What are your thoughts? Are there any specific actions you take, or avoid? How open are you about/towards psychedelics?

@rnd how old are you? I wouldn't recommend it if you are very young.

That sucks. I think it's really weird that the doc prescribed you an antibiotic. 37.5C is barely a fever and not too much to worry about at all, and mold is a fungus so if it was actually what caused the diarrhea the antibiotics wouldn't help. Antibiotics can really rock your system because they'll wipe out your gut flora and you have to start from scratch. I think you probably know all that... What do the + and - mean? Does plus mean it helps the symptoms?

Sounds like you already know you need to ditch the ps4, weed, and wanking too much. Do you live in la Paz? I've been there and loved it. You could spend some time hiking up in the mountains up there, you're in such a beautiful place. They will teach you a lot more than the ps4, and make you a strong man. You could find some friends you can go camping with. Go eat some San Pedro and explore the mountains. I think you need to build up your own self-worth, and it's not going to be something you can trick yourself into by doing some positive thinking, or repeating some affirmations. You need to start actually doing the things that will make you feel better about yourself. Don't worry about women too much for now, work on yourself. Get strong, physically, pursue the interests that make you feel good about yourself. Get a job (I know that's not always easy) so you can help out your parents and not feel like you are so dependent on them. Your english is very good by the way.

Duality and orange stage is a part of the whole, and you need to master it, integrate it, then transcend it. Transcendence doesn't mean discarding it for the new thing, it means building on top of it in an integrative way. Don't junk it or try to bypass it, you need to build your temple on a solid foundation, and you need to work hard to build that good foundation. Stay in school dude, do your homework. -

Money, opportunity. @Vaishnavi it's a damn spooky direction, and it's not just China, although they are probably leading the way. -
This thread isn't going anywhere. Locked so we can focus on more productive topics.

It's OK to question your level of commitment too. Sometimes there's not enough baseline attraction there to keep the relationship alive long term. Depending where you and your parter are at in your lives, where you're at with each other, and what you both are looking for in a relationship, perhaps it's the right time to consider moving on? I'm not saying it is, just that if this question is coming up for you, maybe you should really look at it.

There's some good discussion in here on MDMA. It's a bit off topic, but sensible discussion nonetheless. The risks of MDMA do tend to be overblown. Dr. David Nutt stirred up a lot of controversy when he famously pointed out that "ecstacy is no more dangerous than horse riding", and he was probably right https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2009/feb/09/ecstasy-horse-riding. (Personally, I find horse riding terrifying ) Yet, MDMA does have its risks, and it's confounded by pill adulteration, and people mixing drugs, so it's hard to pick it all apart. I've definitely seen a few people who appeared to have suffered negative consequences from MDMA abuse in the late 90s rave scene - depression, burnout (and possibly worst of all, horrendous taste in some questionable flavours of dance music ), rumours of possible suicides triggered by the post MDMA dip. I didn't see these same problems in people who stuck to weed and the more classic psychedelics like acid or mushrooms. The thing that I've never liked about MDMA is that it makes you completely indiscriminate in your love and appreciation of what's in front of you. This is the same thing that makes it such a powerful therapeutic agent, because you can look directly at that most difficult thing within you, and love an accept it with no resistance, and thus heal it. However, when taken in a party context, it's really asking for trouble. You're wide open to any nonsense, and you're going to love it all without question. I suppose this is more of a spiritual risk, rather than an existential danger or health risk of MDMA. As far as health risks go, it's a bit hard on your heart, you risk overheating, dehydration, overhydration, possible minor neurotoxicity from the metabolites, serotonin depletion can lead to dullness and "Suicide Tuesdays". All of these risks can be mitigated, and people certainly engage in riskier behaviours without really questioning it.

Don't you dare do that, don't ever even think about doing that to anyone. Dosing someone covertly like that is completely unethical. If the source is pure, and it's used responsibly, MDMA is pretty safe, so it's no surprise if you've gone 4 years without any issues. However, it's much less safe than LSD or magic mushrooms. It can actually cause some problems, and I've seen people get pretty ground down from MDMA abuse. MDMA has more in common with methamphetamine (aka crystal meth) than LSD for example

What are some interesting, artful, creative games these days? FRACT OSC, Everything, and No Man's Sky all looked really interesting. -
Sounds like you need to take a break from reading red pill material there young grasshopper. It's not that there's no truth in that stuff, it's just that it over-focuses on a few specifics, misses the forest for the trees, and gets people into a victim mentality. We try not to dwell on that too much here because it's a bit of a vortex of negativity.

I think you should try sniffing it. If you do, make sure it's chopped up ultra fine if your product is at all grainy, and sniff it very gently.

He's a bit of a wild man and a prankster, I wouldn't try too hard to classify him specifically. If you don't vibe with his talks, no worries, move on. He's not required reading by any means, but he can be really entertaining and had some pretty great ideas mixed in with some pretty wacky ideas. He was more of a fantastical storyteller than some kind of spiritual teacher, and I reckon he'd have agreed wholeheartedly with that statement. -
Consume less, acquire less. When you do need to acquire, try to find it used so that you can squeeze another lifecycle out of a product. When your stuff breaks, repair it. When you do need to throw stuff away, donate it or sell it so that others can get use out of it.
