I've taken mescaline cacti 4 times and never vomited from it, so I think like anything it just depends. I have vomited on another psychedelic, so I'm not immune to the possibility. I find the hardest part is eating it, definitely on the verge of hurling during that process, and then after that I find it's such a relief to stop eating it that the nausea goes away completely. Have you ever eaten a really bitter cucumber? If you've never eaten cacti, the best comparison is one of those super bitter cucumbers, but it's been left at the back of your fridge for too long so its become spongey and floppy, and it's like 100x more bitter. You really have to focus your mind and body to get it down. Mescaline itself is really smooth and beautiful. It's much less "peaky" than tryptamines and lysergamides. It's such a rounded, warm, calm, grounded experience. I find it less transformative, and more accepting and expansive than some other psychedelics if that makes any sense. -

I'm really interested in this too @Gneh Onebar please let us know how you like the book! -
@Etherial Cat yes I think I see better what you mean now. I think we do come with some wiring to follow the herd, and we probably fall back on it more and more with trauma, whether the trauma be large scale, or the accumulation of these micro-traumas, or misunderstandings of how reality functions, which can become internalized as "you don't know what's up, that hurt, safer to follow the herd".

Haha you're a good sport !

I think @DrewNows just called you ugly ?

I don't think it will be productive to try to "reset" your sexual fantasies, I don't think the human mind works like that. I think this is a situation of evolution, not revolution. I'm guessing you're just going to have to figure this one out on your own in the end, but I'd suggest entertaining more minor fantasies you have than your main one, and seeing where and how they develop. You can try saving your main one for special occasions (or at least not for every meal), and just see if you can let the other ones grow. I've noticed with my wife that there is a very specific thing that will get her off every time. I try not to go there every time though because I think it could wear out or get boring, so I think I know where you're "coming" from haha.

Yeah @Etherial Cat @jerrypua I think most of us do this one way or another at various points in our lives, myself included in particular. I don't think it's necessarily rooted in any kind of trauma, it could be but IMO it's just the typical byproduct of us humans being social creatures. We do all kinds of things at all kinds of scales to shortcut mental processing by observing the herd. It's not always bad to be influenced by the herd either, but it's definitely worth examining and being aware of it where it does occur, and bypass this reflex when it collides with what will truly make us happy. Mate selection is one of those situations for sure. So true! ?

I don't think we have a thread dedicated to guessing Leo's new psychedelic. It was fun when we narrowed it down last time. Here are the clues I'm aware of: (Edit: this thread was written on the premise that Leo was talking about one substance, however it turns out these clues are for two separate substances) Something new and unknown to most psychonauts. it can catalyze entheogenic/spiritual/mystical states the substance not scheduled in most countries "is it similar to 5 meo?" - "It's different. It is not a 5-MeO sub-type" It's not a dissociative No reply to the question of whether or not it's a tryptamine It's not DPT "no bodyload" more potent per mg than 5-MeO-DMT The last clue is a pretty big one. Some probably-safe assumptions: it's a rare "research chemical" available commercially over the internet, "legal" in the USA it belongs to the class of psychedelics from the families of tryptamines, phenethylamines or lysergamides My guess right now is MiPLA. That doesn't feel quite right though, I think I'm missing something. Any other clues or guesses? edit: Other chemicals that could fit the bill include: 2C-E, 2C-P, ETH-LAD, 1cp-LSD, LSM-775, DOC, an N-Benzyl phenethylamine, AMT, AET, 4-Pro-DMT, Salvia or a Salvia derivative. I don't think it will be any of those though, most of them contradict the clues one way or another. ETH-LAD could still fit the bill, or it could be EiPLA, which seems the same as MiPLA.

@jerrypua I think you've gotten the point already, but just to kick a dead horse here Would you rather date: The woman that you're attracted to, or The woman that you think other people are attracted to, or The woman that you think other people would think you're attracted to? Don't feel embarrassed to date curvy girls that's for sure Personally I think it's super cool how everyone has different tastes and fits with different types of bodies and personalities. The world is much more boring when everyone focuses on one Type A body or whatever.

That's a pretty good point @Hansu, good food for thought. I don't think it's a new problem though, I think this is a core issue with language and communication; different parties will always have different connotations, associations, even definitions for words and phrases, since the dawn of language probably. And the context really matters too. It's pretty crazy to think about how much miscommunication is going on all the time. This underlines the importance of really being clear on your definitions when getting into a serious discussion. -

Yang, Sanders, Warren, Gabbard, even Joe freaking Biden... please USA, just take Trump out with the rest of the trash ok? -- signed, the rest of the world. -
In ideal circumstances it's what @Spiral said, but in practice it usually operates as a religion's control mechanism over it's clergy by setting up this expectation, and then guilt over not being able to comply. This often backfires and you end up with ugly forms of sexuality squishing out through the cracks in the form of child abuse, sleazy teachers, unhealthy sexual practices. Don't trust a spiritual movement or religion that pressures it's clergy into abstinence. If individuals come to it on their own accord, then all the power to them.

Very exciting isn't it?! You probably shouldn't take DPT the day after your first 5-MeO-DMT, but that's really your call. You'll know. Proceed with care, you don't know your dose response at this point, so it's better to undershoot and work your way up than the other way around. When in doubt, halve the dose. If still in doubt, halve it again, and so on. You've probably got a good supply line now, so you can keep experimenting your way up. Good luck!!

</thread> Locked, we have far too many of these threads of this nature already. Internalize what @Michael569 and others have to say, drop this redpill-mgtow-incel junkfood, and start taking actual steps to improve your situation. No one wants to hear you whine on here. edit: unlocked, by request. I know we can do better than dwell on this poison though people. C'mon.

4-AcO-DMT is very good. It's much like mushrooms, but I find it smoother, less chaotic, and easier to dose accurately, so I kind of prefer it. It's very strong on the mystical axis, and apparently people are able to take it to very high doses with little negative effects building up, so it's probably very versatile. I've only taken it up to 20mg, which was plenty for me to have a deep, insightful, life-affirming trip. -

I remember Shinzen Young talking about how he's one of the least spiritually talented person in the world, and yet here he is, very developed and teaching and helping a lot of people out. I think he said that his lack of "spiritual talent" in a way is a strength because it makes him work hard, and he is more acutely aware of the process. I'd recommend trying to dig up his words on the topic, it was very insightful and inspiring. Sorry just going on memory here, I'll post it if I find it. It's more about the growth that you make, rather than your inborn talent. -

It's good you're ready to have a hard trip should it go there. You don't need to go and expect it, but being prepared is good. That's your call. If you have a good friend who's tripped before, that might be a good situation. Most important is that you set up your environment really well, Set and Setting. Have some good music on hand, be prepared to be able to go for a walk if you're up for it. Turn off your devices, clean your house beforehand. Make sure you're healthy and well rested physically and mentally going into the trip. Have some light food on hand like fruit. Don't smoke weed or drink booze during your trip. I like tripping at night because it's quiet and introspective, but some people like the day. You can handle it. Just start small, work up. There's no reason you need to hit yourself over the head in the deep end. Depends on the drug. Mushrooms, about 6h. LSD about 10-12h. 5-MeO-DMT about 1h if you snort it. Every psychedelic has a different profile. That might be a tad high to start. I'd recommend 1.5-2g. You can always take more next time. Mushrooms are a good choice. -
These are awesome, nice one.

I really like Dean Radin. He's such a rational scientist, but also extremely open minded, and his research points to some pretty paradigm-shattering stuff - if it's correct. Maybe he's just a kook. His conclusions are definitely against the grain of most scientific understanding, and his research is certainly not accepted by mainstream science. But maybe he's correct. Anyways this is a really good interview with him on magic: Makes me want to read his new book. His old one "Entangled Minds" was really good.

No one's hiding anything. Leo has a few psychedelics that he's hinted at that he's found great value in, but none of them are going to be the "One True Key to Transforming Humanity" or anything like that. All psychedelics have different qualities that make them useful in their own way, but LSD is probably the most gentle, clarifying, opening psychedelic that I'm aware of. LSD amazing. And what @peanutspathtotruth and @LfcCharlie4 are saying is true, there is no big wonder pill, and this reality of duality is what there is, and it's perfect. And ironically, LSD will show you that. -
This was a really good interview with Sue Johnson, talking about "how to create, protect, and nourish fulfilling sexual and emotional relationships" on The Knowledge Project. https://fs.blog/sue-johnson/

I quit watching TV about 25 years ago and haven't owned once since. It was definitely one of the best life decisions I ever made. TV is such a gigantic waste of time and attention. Nowadays I get sucked into my phone and the internet too often. It's easy to just completely get rid of TV, and then it never becomes a decision you have to make, but it's harder to draw boundaries with phones and internet because they are so intrinsic to modern life. You could just go offline completely in theory, but it would be difficult, and potentially disabling. I guess the modern equivalent of getting rid of your TV is getting a dumb phone. But it feels like it would be hobbling to not have all the superpowers of a smart phone.

Using a numerical form gives a false impression of precision on something that's immeasurable, or extremely inaccurate at best. The 10 oxherding pictures are more nuanced, and they're not really meant to be linear or a measurement too. More like a continually unfolding, fractal, story. It's great if you get some value from it, but it just looks funny from my angle. I hope this doesn't feel like a personal slight, it might have come off that way, but it's not my intent. Everyone finds different tools that works for them along the way.
