  1. I was looking into buying a cast iron kettle when I thought of posting this topic to my fellow actualizers! I wanted to get some of your thoughts on the health benefits of different types of tea. What types of tea do you drink? Do you drink tea everyday? Better before meditation or after or all day through out?
  2. David Deida author of The Way of the Superior Man is having a workshop in August where I live. It's a 2 night thing for $250.00. I'm thinking about going by a little concerned and nervous. I wanted to see if anyone has been to one of his workshops? Thanks!
  3. "Epictetus also said: "A man must discover an art (or rules) with respect to giving assent; and in respect to his movement he must be careful that they be made with regard to circumstances, that they be consistent with social interests, that they have regard to the value of the object; and as to sensual desire, he should altogether keep away from it; and as to avoidance (aversion) he should not show it with respect to any of the things that are not in our power."" I'm trying to understand this. Can anyone help me out and explain it? I would really appreciate it.
  4. Ah! Thank you! This is very helpful. Ya my version is extremely hard to read. I will also check out that link. @Ajax
  5. Was on reddit and saw this. I came back to it later and I was like "Haha to me that means something completely different" Just wanted to share
  6. What are the main differences between a trophy wife/husband vs. real wife/husband and how can we identify if we are in that type of situation.
  7. @Quizzer The most profound experiences arise from questioning the obvious.
  8. @Dhana Choko Isn't that just a believe and conceptual construct that we made up? How does cheating relate to enlightenment? AHHH soo confused.
  9. @Dhana Choko Thank you, your post has helped me a lot.
  10. @Emerald Wilkins So meditation, self-inquiry, and contemplation are all ways of transcending the ego? Seems like an obvious question but I like questioning the obvious. Haha
  11. @Ayla This just doesn't make sense to me. Why are we putting rules on love? We are just trapping love into agreements and contracts that put specific limitations on love.
  12. @Ayla I also want your opinion on my post above yours. Because I feel what you said relates to my post haha
  13. Here is my question on "true love" and maybe @Sarah_Flagg and @MIA.RIVEL can chime in on this because I feel they are both very knowledgeable on this topic. Can you love someone who is not faithful to you? In other words, in order for me to love you, you need to be sexually faithful and emotionally connected to only me, and if you're not then I can't love you. It seems like I'm holding my love hostage or I'm being selfish with my love if I or someone else does that. But is that what true love is? If I truly loved every aspect of them and they wanted to go be emotional connected and/or sexually with other people then I should be just as happy, loving, and supportive. This sounds crazy but this is what has been coming to me these past couple days when I've been meditating. I guess it comes down to each persons personal definition?
  14. @Sarah_Flagg nooo !!! I'm not able to go :(( When the next one happens we should all get together
  15. "You're so hypnotized by yourself that you probably think you're real" - Byron Katie When I read this it hit "me" and I was like "ooohhhh, wait a second here." Thoughts?
  16. I recently watched this TED talk and I wanted to know people's perspectives? He mentioned something that I never noticed before. The more you notice your mind wander the more you are able to be still. I was always trying to stop thinking, which now I know doesn't work. Going to use these tips!
  17. @Emerald Wilkins Is enlightenment a feeling? I'm just curious.
  18. That's exactly right. It's our belief of our thoughts that cause our suffering. If you believe that you can't do personal growth while married then you won't. If you believe that you can, then you will.
  19. @Sarah_Flagg Thank you :))) SARAH_FLAGG BEST MOD IMO.
  20. I'm on day 17 of no PMO (Porn, Masturbation, Orgasm). I just have to say that abstaining from PMO was the best thing I have ever done. It really showed me what I was missing out of life. I have so much more time to do personal development work, I have way more energy, I actually go out and talk to real girls, have fun, my voice has gotten deeper, hike, eat healthy, read more, view women as actual people instead of objects, the list goes on and on. I was addicted for over 10 years and I'm still trying to get over it. Let me tell you though, the withdraw symptoms are extremely horrible. Flashbacks, no sexual drive, extreme sexual drive to watch P and to MO. But so far it's been really worth it and I'm only on day 17! @Sarah_Flagg So this would be one reason why I wouldn't want to have an O. The whole point of no PMO (typically 90 days, but varies for everyone, specifically males) is to to reset the brain to pre-porn status. In case any of you are curious. Please let me know if you have any questions.
  21. I don't know what the right answer is.
