@Derek White Toxic nationalism is not really helpful regarding the discussion. -

@Parththakkar12 i kinda agree with you on that point. I think those who rape/molestate are not only motivated by their sexual urges but also by showing power over women. -

@outlandish I think this vicious crime against women needs to stop. Consent is a foreign concept in south asia. I wonder what really a guy enjoy when he approaches sexually to a women without her consent. I mean, sex/sexual intimacy is about two people coming together and enjoying each other at their will. If one of them doesn't want it, then doing it forcefully makes no sense. It is a sick mentality and unfortunately, it is so common in this region. Such a shame. -

@Serotoninluv well, i think it depends on the context. If the the guy who just protested is outnumbered by those who are molestating, then chances are he will be just ignored or beaten up at worse. If the protesting man gets others support, then those guys can back out or flee. The chance of getting justice for the women? No much. Chances are she will no file a complaint in police station. We only hear about the number of rapes and sexual harrasment that are reported or appear in the news. You have to also take account of those who are not reported. In fact, i believe at least 60% of the time it is not reported. The victim and her family most likely to assume that they are not gonna get any justice and on the top of that, they will just get defamed in the society. I recommend you to watch the short film that i have posted here. It will give you some big picture perspective. -

@Preety_India This surely depicts the situation In India while dealing with women. It doesn't matter what you want to wear, the matter is your freedom over your choice. That is what is missing. -
He was expected to win a landslide on super tuesday, but as the centrist had come together in the very last moment, he fell behind joe biden. Bernie's policy are the most progressive ones in 2020 white house race. Can he, present underdog, make a comeback here? Or will we see the repitition of 2016?

@Preety_India I think the actual probelm lies in the social structure in India. Historically, women are treated as some kind of "property". They were not allowed to voice their choice even in the matter of their own marriage. Most of them couldn't choose the life partner according to their wish, they were demonized and even subjected to violance from their own family. This was a common case even 30-40 years ago. Now things improved a little bit but not enough. It's disheartening. Conservetism is another aspect of the problem. As the society is deeply conservative, it doesn't feel good when it sees women are voicing their concerns, demanding their rights and going to work. People are always poking their nose into other's personal domain. A women will think many times before wearing skirts or the cloths of their choice because others will tell them, " it's too revealing" or something like that. I think violence against women in India most likely to continue like this for another half a century with little progress here and there. Things will start changing after the society decides to shade some of its backward norms and regulations. -
@Dwarniel stage red/purple are so low conscious that each and every traits they possess seem to be "evil' from the perspective of 90% of the world's population. You have to understand that most people in the world are at stage blue/orange/green. So it will be hard to find " positive" traits of red/purple and make it believable for the rest of the world. They can't simply accept that people can be that much ignorant.

Did joe biden say it recently? It is clearly evident that he is losing his cognitive ability. If he goes on like this, then the republicans will sure use that against him. It will be a disaster for the democratic party. I am quite unsure of biden's chance of winning the election. So it will be better if bernie gets the nomination. He is the one who can really challenge trump. Otherwise, we are looking for another four years of Trump. That will not only be disaster for America but also for the rest of the world. So the democratic party establishment should really consider rallying behind Biden, as it will only ensure trump reelection. -

today, my country Bangladesh has declared the first cases of corona virus in the country. It is reported that 3 people are detected with corona virus, two of them recently came from Italy. Although the government told us not to panic, i am worrying as i suspect my country is ill equipped to tackle this disease. All three cases are detected in Dhaka, which is one of the most densely populated cities in the world. If the diesease breaks out, it will spread very quickly. I hope this will not be the case. I guess we have to be more careful and take some preventive measures. But surely people will start panicking if the number of infected increases. -

@Shiva i think you are making a lot of assumption rather than investing time on investigating the case. If you wanna genuinely know about what happened, you should do a bit of research on Norwegian politics rather than making assumptions. -

Norway is undoubtedly one of the most conscious developed countries in the world. It's political, social and economic model is a role model for the rest of the world. It has truely got a social welfare system. If i am not making mistake, then Bernie Sanders of America is exactly trying to introduce the same kind of system in America. So obvoisly we can expect that kind of generousness that the OP has mentioned from the politicians of a highly concious country.@Dwarniel Thank you for sharing the news. I hope you will share more about the various systems of Norway in the future so that we can understand how a conscious country works practically. -

@remember i am sorry. I have removed it. I was trying to say that if biden gets the nomination, i would support him beacause to me he is better than trump. But i also want to say bernie is better than both biden and trump. -
Just a few days ago, it seemed like Benie was going to have a massive victory in Super Tuesday. That didn't happen. So Far, Biden has won 9 states and Bernie 4 ( including California). It is a setback for Bernie, if not a major one. The establishment is back on the game and they are fighting with all the resources that they have. In last two days Mayor Pete, Amy klobuchar and Beto O'rourke has endorsed Biden, which seemed to help him to get a late bump over the polls before super tuesday. At present, he has the most number of delegates while bernie is trailing him closely. I think this is going to be a long fought battle. Progressives need to come forward for bernie more than stronger then they did before. Otherwise he is going to loose like he did in 2016.

@Emerald Bernie can not win without warren voters. In fact, he lost super tuesday because warren stayed on. Otherwise, he would have on Massachusetts and one or two other states. -

@Emerald bernie posted it on his facebook page an hour ago. I think he has formed a pact with warren. -

@Serotoninluv I understand. Still i think Biden can not win against trump. If he becomes nominee and enters into presidential debates againt Trump, then Trump is just gonna tear him apart unless he somehow brings back his "prime time". -

@Mr Being I see. So what can possibly happen in your opinion? Is the centre left coalition strong enough to form a government? -
Annoynymous replied to Annoynymous's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Serotoninluv wow, now i am really starting believe that Bernie has a lot of ammo power left to bounce back strongly. Btw your analysis was excellent! I don't see warren endorsing biden. Her progressive career got started to oppose those financial issue that biden had Advocated for in the past. If she does endorse biden, imo that will the end of her as a progressive democrat because progressive base will definately going to see that as "betrayal". On the other hand, if she is to endorse someone, definitely that should be sanders. Her policies has got a majority of similarities with bernie. The are both very much popular in the progressive base and enough to bring the whole band together and beat biden. I personally think if anyone has the real chance to win againo trump, that is Bernie. If Biden becomes nominee, he won't going to have the support of whole progressive base, which should be roughly 40% or so of the democratic party. -
Annoynymous replied to Annoynymous's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Serotoninluv I just loved her analysis! Krystal's arguement was hitting on point. That is partly what i have been thinking throughout the day: Get warren on your team. This should be bernie's top most priority. I consider 40% of the democratic voters are progressives. It is minority but still a workable number. So the whole progressive base needs to come under one single banner and attack biden's record. He has made numerous grave mistakes in the past so it should be an easy job. The race is far from being over. I feel like it just getting started. We are going to witness some ups and downs of emotions in the next few months. -
Mayor Pete did unexpectedly well in Iowa and New Hampshire. There were no rumours of him dropping out two says ago, but he suddenly dropped out yesterday! Is it to help Biden, who was suffering terribly before south carolina, to compete against Bernie Sanders? If it is that, then i must say the establishment is in panic mode. They are going to do whatever they can to stop the accelerating campain of Bernie.

If your line of reasoning is true for most people, then i think it will take some time to get a Green president elected in America. Even if that is the case, still supporting bernie is important to set a directional path for future green politicians.
