  1. Yesterday, i have seen Leo's video on stage red. It made me wonder how trump became a stage red while living in a place like New York and basically coming from a rich family background. Then i did some digging and came up with this documentary. Here is the trailer - It is available on netflix. I have just started the first episode and started noticing some pattern which indicating the answer to my question. It starts from very young age of trump, when he was just about to start ihs business in NY. I am hopeful that it will illuminate many insights to why trump has so many stage red qualities
  2. @andyjohnsonman i don't think there is any problem if homogenous people ruling their nation, atleast for now. For me, i think globalisation means increasing connections with other nations and setting up some international organisation which we have been seeing since world war one. But in future, it will break up hegemony of homogenous people and we will start to see more and more interrascial people because more globalisation=more travel between contries=marrying/starting relationship will people of other races are and ethnicities. When the total number of the interracial people surpasses the total number of homogenous people, then the whole thing called nationalism will crumble. I think we will see that process starting very soon. But nationalism will be staying here for a while. Maybe it will stay in my lifetime.
  3. @Leo Gura hey, what about climate change? If it finds us before we are prepared, don't you think it will shake up every structure of the society? I think that can be a potential time for solid green to be emerged (though i wish they emerge much before so that we can do something meaningful to stop climate disaster)
  4. I think understanding how the world works is important. Here is a video on Neoliberalism.
  5. @Leo Gura do you think it is possible to turn America into theocracy? I mean what percentage of people in the US are radical christians? I don't think the percentage will be that much high..
  6. @Leo Gura yet chris almost perfectly described how stage blue people thinks ( i am refering to your blog post). So what is he actually missing? I guess connecting the dots?
  7. @outlandish that's a very nice way to put it After hearing chris hedges, i feel like a war is coming, as big as world war. It may not be the case, but if you look at the human history, you see a war on a big scale pretty much in every century. Another way to describe it as whenever the world is in transition ( generally speaking), we saw major wars. Like in the ww2, it was between fascism and democracy. Right now, we are seeing the tension between stage blue/orange with high orange/green. The tension may or may not end in a nonviolent way. It's just my assumption. It may not be the case.
  8. @outlandish i am terrified about the way he drops word bombs... It's overwhelming me for the last couple of days...
  9. @Leo Gura sometimes i really struggle to understand what you are trying to say. In one hand, you say how amazing chris hedges's speech are. On the other hand, you say don't buy it too much. What is that supposed to mean?
  10. @Leo Gura i wonder what you would think of third world countries then. I mean to us who lives in underdeveloped/developing country, "american dream" feels like a real dream. In a sense, a lot of people here admires america. Of course that is relative. But again, if you call america bully state, i wonder what you would call third world countries if you lived there. I think it's far more worse.
  11. @Leo Gura i have two questions - 1. How do you know what she says valid or not? I am not talking about facts, i am talking about the way she frames facts. 2. Do you believe that america is an empire? If yes, why?
  12. @louhad look at the name. "Empire". Don't you think it is problematic to label it that way?
  13. @louhad it seemed like far left's critique of the right.
  14. @Leo Gura i checked some backgrounds of abby martin. So i checked wikipedia. It says, her channel gets fund from Telesur, which is funded by Venezuelan government, which is run by seamingly corrupt leadership. The link you shared here, is also from Telesur english, which is also run by venezuelan govt. So don't you think it's problematic?
  15. I am from Bangladesh. I am not a big fan of nationalistic Indian movies you know. They tend to be bias and sometimes full of factual error. I know a lot about Afghanistan and its issues. Life can be very difficult there Lots of love for you, brother
  16. @Zak I have heard about ahmad shah abdali and the second war of panipath. There is a fictional historical drama written by one of the famous writers in my country, where i had learnt about him a little bit although i don't know how accurate the knowledge was.
  17. I think there is no one way of seeing this problem. A lot of things are at play here. I think Afghanistan is the most poorest and backward country in asia. Redeeming it's soul will not be an easy task. So the question is, can we blame them for it? The answer would be both yes and no. No, because US did a lot of dirty work which destroyed the country to the point we are seeing it today, and it is horrible. Yes, because most afghan people are genuinely low conscious. I don't totally agree with the point that US is the only responsible party behind the growth of religious extremism and Taliban. Remember, for a seed to grow, you need a very good land and favourable climate. This is how Afghan people contributed to the problem, by providing their support for Taliban. They were too gullible and low conscious to buy medieval ideas from religious extremists.
  18. @Serotoninluv it already sounds very barbaric to me.
  19. So the Krystal and Saagar show is basically formatted on a left wing populist and a right wing populist bashing "establishment" and "corporate elites" and doing other stuffs as well which is not important in this post. So Krystal is the left wing populist who always support progressive politician/candidates over moderate democrats and republicans. So my question is, are all progressives populists or they have scattered into various factions? It seems to me that they all are populists or otherwise, a populist like Krystal Ball wouldn't support them.
  20. It is not a post intended to be funny. I have been hearing from Leo's video for last four years. Recently i find it hard to listen to him as i found his way of talking too much thought centric, logical and sometimes heartless. I usually don't find enough empathy, compassion and emotion in his video. Yeah, what he talks about seems right when i think about it, but it just doesn't "feel" right. This was not the case even 6 months ago for me. Then i had enjoyed listening to him. But now a days i don't fully resonate with his teaching style. Is it the case only for me or do others face the same problem too? I want to hear Leo's opinion as well.
  21. @Serotoninluv i didn't understand . Can you please elaborate?
