  1. You can check Goodreads, there are plenty of books. Skimming is good, taking notes also, or drawing a mind-map. Using your finger to read, to increase comprehension is a common tip + a technique used. No, the answer was related to the question.
  2. 100%, this is what I perceive. It is a dichotomy or a bifurcation. You can intuit what is unconscious and what is not. The difficulty is trusting one's own perception, it is difficult and also to follow through with that. Leo's episodes of self-deception covers that quite well, between for instance shallow emotions and higher and deeper emotions, that in a certain sense bring more clarity. Not trusting direct experience could also be a sign of awareness, the question is does the inner skeptic feel conscious or unconscious.
  3. No, but it does feel inauthentic and fake.
  4. @CreamCat At best buy a speed reading book or the booklist. There is so much advice on YouTube. I will sound like a hypocrite. For instance, stop subliminally speaking yourself words internally and start thinking in images, pictures and more visually. Hence, you can process more information, since you are not hindering yourself by speaking the words out loud in your mind.
  5. It mostly comes down to what one experiences, for instance when I sit down and meditate my direct experience is thought, emotions, flowing emotions, the quality of emotions, depth, broadness, (anger, happiness). The quality of tranquility or equanimity, flavour of concentration. Flavour of unconsciousness etc. Emotions that seem more intuitivly as dirct experience can be very strong emotions or pain. Since it is difficult to deny that. Take crying as an example, for instance of laughter as some sort of clarity in a situation. Or crying to deal with emotional trauma in order to come to terms with the experience being processed. I can name a personal example, yet I won't do it till I see more of them here. Where is the direct experience? I can also conceptualize and speculate instead of giving a frame of reference. From personal experie ce.
  6. There is a good book on Leo's booklist. Although it is quite tedious to get through the book. I don't read much currently. I consume a lot of audiobooks... Mostly it is the way we have been taught to read. There are a ton of tips on Youtube. The advice given in the book, is also congruent to a degree with the advice given by Scott Young. Otherwise there are other speedreading books and coaches. On YouTube etc. Yet, the format of the book is quite good. Because of the exercises it entails. It is also gives you an overview of how many words per minute. Or wpm you can read currently and at the end of the book. Some of the techniques are intuitive or contra-intuitiv, some are common sense.
  7. Your choice.
  8. @Shin You sure do know, that eye rolling is a sign of having a condescending attitude towards the person you are speaking. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/this-behavior-is-the-top-predictor-of-divorce_n_572cc717e4b0bc9cb0468e06 Yes, I do enjoy the song.
  9. @Joseph Maynor It is great, that you criticize so people are aware. An advocatus diaboli is needed often to further reduced cult-like thinking.
  10. @Joseph Maynor It's inevitable when language is used in a religious way that certain people are attracted to it. Who are more blue for instance. Also, being neutral or relative all the time is for me an absolutist thing, or way or thinking. Seeing Leo's earlier videos and being a lurker it felt heavily orange or secular. Now it feels greener with people choosing their "enlightened" one besides Leo to reference to and give credit to and seek advice. People being about love and sending hearts etc. I don't think there is anything apprehensive about the forum with so many active moods and Leo being active. For me, it feels more like an upgrade that the forum is not so strongly based on likes etc. Since people have to actually read the post and take the time to figure out which advice is legit. Sure, this is also a disadvantage that there is no immediate reinforcement or feedback to post and having feedback from likes to see if the advice or post provided value, is legit or people like it. (Like StackOverflow or Quora etc.) So, it is more for the forum participation itself and the content shared. I mean people from all over the world chime in, it is clear that at one point some cult-like behavior is going to erupt. When the teaching changes. Yet, for me, it shows more a misunderstanding of how people can't perceive of how interconnected all of this is then, cult-like behavior.
  11. It's inevitable in some way that with so many sources and people practicing different techniques and having different world views and value structures, that they are going to clash in some way. I find it amazing that there is a place where people can exchange these aspects, while not burning down the whole place. This is what a positive discussion is good for. It's already quite cult free since people can't meet up in real life and many people tend to build their own "philosophy" about their spirituality, with so many approaches presented. Yet, this is what I find this place good for, that different viewpoint and techniques can be discussed also to see how different people use them and see what they achieve, or what effects they have. Also, the metaphysical aspects and the general no bullshit approach and how everything connects back to some source. When reading different maps and post from forum members, and the forum not being based on likes anymore. I find it personally a bit easier to distinguish between people who legit make progress and others who are just talking crap. That Leo mentions that people "should" follow their own path and craft their unique own path and to not blindly follow his advice, already seems to provoke more skeptical people to be more skeptic about Leo's and their own approach and criticize it while others seem to ride on the vibe. This alone solely prevents dogma since you have contrast, especially people with a larger knowledge base and people practicing different approaches. I've been quite good to call out bs, so mostly I observe.... which does not mean I am very far advanced on any path talked about here and in general PD.
  12. @Nivsch I tried the same with my friends they where not interested or just listened as friends. But had no interest. Two where a bit more interested but more into integral theory then sd. A good example of extrem left being blue or red are the zealots. (IIRC). They wanted to spread Jesus word at any cost. For the benefit of many. With aggresive measures, I assume you know more about this then me. Otherwise watching the riots during the g8-summit or potentially the yellow vests in france? The left and right parties have been juxtaposed by don beck, by their value structures and behaviour. In south africa. The left has been slightly above the right. Yet, as there have been for instance right pragmatists there are also left ones. Potentially if I followed your posts correctly there should be already people who use or have used SD, in your country. The book spiral dynamics in action says more about how to process unfolded.
  13. @outlandish Well, the video explained pretty much nothing. So, I was a bit wary.
  14. Is there a name for this category of products?
  15. @pluto I am not against it I was curious how it works and what it does. Could you reference a website to look into this? Already seeing the app makes me curious.
  16. 2min vid: There is an audiobook where they talk about time, yet I think this is a different discussion. Which could be interesting for some.
  17. Hyped for my belated workout! (sarcasm not intended)
  18. @pluto What does this device do? What does it do on a cellular level? Or what changes on a cellular level because of the vibrations/waves ? What is the benefit?
  19. It is also crazy to limit yourself to your own mental chatter. Especially, when it is negative or destructive. That is what I mean with biographical or autobiographical story. So, called "friends" reinforce old believe since they are used to that. Or stay with your newer self and enjoy and embrace it. Yet, this are all the advices I read on Quora . So, I assume all of this is normal.
  20. @Aakash What is normal in the first place ? Sure, you could say that is crazy talk. The world is crazy too. Most of the rules are arbitrary and serve a purpose that needed to fit into the larger structure. Like why can people abuse systems for their own benefit and keep for instance their money for themselves? For me, it is part of the magnificent of existence. Sure, when I talk with friends about this they sure think I am a bit crazy, but I mostly laugh and enjoy the unconventional viewpoints and ideas that generate from a different angle, by them then, since they are either curious or take it as a learning experience or nothing. The point is I am not stuck anymore in the analysis of paralysis. I am not very good, yet at doing and taking action. So, this is what I want to work on and will work on. I am now 4 years into the path, and still not there where I want to be. For instance, when I use the app insight timer for meditation session I see that I am not alone there are so many people on this path, and with all of this personalization algorithms etc. You can create your own save bubble to venture through your own life and not ride against the stream, yet with the stream in your own personally created bubble. At least that is how I like to view it. I can connect with most people, blue, orange, green, red. This was just part of my upbringing in this retarded melting pot of cultures. It is almost inevitable to not ask certain questions.
  21. For instance what actualized.org + ressource from booklist etc. made me aware of is that. - I am attached to my biographical story - I keep solidifying that story based on the stories I keep telling myself and others, which reinforces the biographical and or autobiographical story. - It is inevitable to not tell one's story to others, to a degree. - I have no idea what non-duality is or stages above coral I assume. - I am still identified with my body - I am still identified with my mind - Cults exist - Path ultimately depends on you + A lot more theory which I certainly will catch up to, in given time...
  22. @Aakash Never seems to amaze me how many people the 0.7 or 0.6 people are who are similar to me or vice-versa. My upbringing has made me look so different at reality, it never ceases to amaze. That I am different and how many people are different. One thing I definitely know is regardless of how many people are around me that this path has to be walked alone, which I am being made aware of more and more since I can't join a community which would support this endeavor atm. I love to connect to people, after taking the LP even if this does not seem like it the highest value I valued was love. I am very idealistic about such things. Yet, I know that this will depend on my spiritual growth, reality or perception. (Becoming one with the unmanifest, manifest, sentient etc.) I still find it amazing that most of the religious people would add up to the 0.7 or 0.6 percent of people. I struggle more with everyday life than with spiritual growth. Since..... basically you need to sit down and put in the hours, the same with every other skill. Yet, having a map certainly helps. I am still stuck in the forest while having glimpses outside of the forest at least weekly. It's very unique that someone documents his process of becoming enlightened on a public medium or channel, this is simply amazing lol.
  23. I like Leo's teaching since it feels more to me like a modern version or a secular approach towards spirituality, which combines knowledge from religion, mysticism, philosophy, psychology, etc. Also, that it is not based on belief, yet more oriented towards a practical approach on how to achieve ones "goal" in spirituality. While presenting a large spectrum of different approaches, on how to get there. It feels like I have been chartered to an unbelievable journey, where I am privileged to meet and enjoy peoples company while learning at the same time from them. While learning to appreciate being and isness of how things are while being aware of the limitations of language. Also, that it is global, it is not presented to a dogmatic audience preaching Jesus is our only savior, you are all wrong for not worshipping Jesus, while also not only teaching theory. Theory turns into practice and knowledge, while practice generates insights which generate knowledge. While also combining aspects such as how to maintain and create a sustainable business, mastery, creative expressions art, writing etc. The whole self-actualization spectrum. Also, being made aware of pitfalls on the path + creating an online community where people can share. The only thing I can find is somewhat similar is Quora. I like it because I feel I am not being presented some bull crap, that is highly egoic and self-centered. Yet, aims to transcend self and limitations and how to go about that, for instance, creating an infrastructure. The advice I would receive from friends and family is mostly around safety, yet this is a highly strategical approach towards creating living conditions that can create fulfillment. I never thought so many non-dual teachers existed and how interconnected and interwoven everything is and seems to be. Anyway, this is my stance/standpoint. + Freedom!
  24. @Leo Gura Is it possible to become a licensed shaman for instance in the U.S or another country in the EU? To try this legally? What kind of experiences are worth shooting for with only LSD? I will definitely sit again for a couple of hours in meditation, depending on how well I can deal with the dose. Yet, since 150/200mcg etc, are not very effective for my brain-body. I want to take higher doses from 450-600mcg or even 700 depending on the substance. Or am I better of reading reports on Erowid? etc.
  25. @SQAAD My way of looking at this would be since I was quite pissed at orange for some time. That it is important to recognize that trigger, since it is something that you could potentially deny in yourself. For instance, I used to get triggered by competitive freaks in sports, because they always wanted to fight the bigger or better seeming person and even though I am not better than them. It scared me, like what kind of psychopathic freak get's so hyped about a competition that he forgets fair play, etc. Yet, now doing shadow work and even way back in my mind, I noticed that I kept thinking in similar terms of total domination, with basically a disregard for human life. That sounds extreme, yet I sometimes had these moments and I basically felt like a stage red power god in soccer. Watch any new uprising star and you will see some strong stage red drives of glory, power and domination. Yet with the issue of wanting to be the best, I mean competition is one driving force for humans to grow without competition we would not even have a hierarchy or heterarchy. We would not mate, we would not have a market etc. Wanting to be the best or greatest or brightest is one things humans want to achieve. I can understand quite well that you are sick of it I never read up on yet, yet I changed my mindset of instead of becoming better. To reach basically flow states, excelling and performing in what I do and not to become number one. Becoming better or excelling or performing is a process. By reframing from being the best in case this causes comparison, you can say to yourself that you want to achieve excellence, or do it just for the sake of doing it. In that regard, it would be more "selfless" and the comparison stops. You can ask yourself and test, what does your authentic self want and come up with a list. Then test it and see what comes out in the end and adopt a mindset of doing the activity for the sake of the activity. Or use nlp or cbt to re-frame the believes around the socially programmed notions of being and becoming better.
