I think this topic is important: shadow - blindspot of meditation/contemplation (and not mentioned in old traditions) - importance of integrating one's shadow - important distinction: transcending (emotions etc) vs disidentifying (adding stuff to shadow) - how to effectively work on integrating your shadow would be interested in that one if you have time Leo

if you like writing, what about writing a book for 20y-old-students who lack orientation. title something like: "what should I do after school?" Big Picture: - timeline: 20s exploration-process, then mastery of skill/field - importance of good career, how do I create a good career, importance of contribution to world - what is happiness/fulfillment - what is important - psychological stuff (how to free yourself from social conditioning, self-image, tricks of mind, belief-systems...) - maybe a little bit of spirituality ~ big-picture-book: how to create a good/happy life target group: for example students oh man, I've been thinking about this for half a year now...maybe I should write a book like this what do you think about this idea?

@Socrates thanks. yeah, I've been thinking about these entrepreneurial options for a long time now. I just came to the point that it'll be hard to earn enough money with this in the first 5-10y. that's why I decided to go to college, become a teacher, and do entrepreneurial side-projects along the way until something clicks. (wasting some time in college, but I don't have the money to learn autodidactic and focus on entrepreneurship)

@Socrates ok, supposing that I'm a good teacher through enough training and that I develop broad and deep understanding in self-actualization, how should I go about that without having direct contact to students? giving talks at schools? writing a blog/book? creating a youtube channel? how should I bring 14-18 y old students or their parents to pay me money for teaching them some concepts they can learn from "experts"?...

@Leo Gura I agree. do you have some ideas of how to change the schoolsystem? becoming a teacher, becoming a politician, becoming some "youtube-teacher"...? I know, what fits to one's strenghts...

@5thPablo hm, I see improving education in some kind as my life purpose atm. problems with teaching self-improvement in schools: the concept self-actualization is not known by most people in my experience most students are lazy, you won't find many students who are interested in this stuff (not many students read, do sports, event think about life) most students are very mainstream-oriented and brainwashed (partying, drinking, "enjoying" their free time, living a comfortable life) without going to deep into conspiracy theories, today's schoolsytem is producing "dumb" factory-workers/consumers for economic reasons, and it's very very difficult to change that I'm thinking about becoming a teacher and offering extra-classes or something, I don't know yet... what do you think about these points? PS: good authors on education: john taylor ghatto (weapons off mass instruction), ken robinson (creative schools)...

hey guys, I've been researching lucid dreaming for about 2 weeks now and it seems to be a very interesting topic. (and I also had one short lucid dream ) but I haven't found much about the correlation between lucid dreaming and nonduality/spiritual growth. can lucid dreaming be used in order to grow spiritually (spiritual purification) ? does lucid dreaming bring me closer to awakening? is it worth it to put a huge investment of time and energy in working on lucid dreaming when my "real" aim is truth/enlightenment? or should I rather put more time in self-inquiry/meditation/mindfulness/etc... has anybody experience with this? or thoughts on combining spiritual purification and lucid dreaming?

the short time I was lucid it felt like "real life". I perceive others as separate. obviously a difference is that I'm not naturally lucid in my dreams.

I had one about 3 hours ago, but woke up about 5min after I became lucid...haha dammit I started reading about lucid dreaming 3 days ago in a forum (recommended here on actualized.org). Now, after this experience today I'm willing to put in the work. meditation is good, and I would recommend re-programming you subconscious mind. visualization, affirmations, seeding, change beliefs...every day for 20-30 min, 2-3 months straight and your behavior should change. read "mind power" if you want to try it, it's in Leo's book list.

hey, isn't self-inquiry/spiritual purification and at the same time imprinting beliefs about yourself contradictory? (working to get rid of strong beliefs vs. working to imprint new strong beliefs) could someone please help me to overcome this newbie-trap? :-)
