  1. at the moment the thing i find help full is to just sit in a quite isolated room for sometime (maybe just 10 minuts) and do nothing except focusing on my breathing and trying to find some form of inner peace
  2. hi if you haven't already seen this i think this video might be usefull kind regards
  3. something that helped me was to work in the same hours(for example from 13 to 15 pm with breaks) but then when i am done i am done so i also have time to relax something else that helped me was to recognize that it will be a challenge to finish working the hours you set for yourself and then decide to finish it anyway leo have a good post on it on hes blue print page https://www.actualized.org/blueprint/block-time kind regards
  4. not really sure if this have been posted here before but i really like this quote it's a nice reminder
  5. Really doubt it's an alien if it looks anything similar to human biologi
  6. if you know what deep work is what is your opinion on it? and is it something you plan to do if you haven't already? kind regards
  7. Hey have anyone tryed to go out of ones comefort zone maybe not to the edge but just a little outside of it and as a habbit?(doing it everyday) (a little similar like explained in this video) i am considering to do this my self and i have tryed it the last few days and i feel like i have made a few improvements. i think the advantages of making this as a habbit just do one thing that is outside of your comfort zone everyday over a long period of time(maybe like a year for example) could maybe get you very far(one example you could be doing is for example one of the things leo recommends in hes video like taking 100% responsibility or being radical honest) have anyone else done something similar before? If you did do you think it made a huge contribution to exspand ones comfortzone? kind regards
  8. I don't know much about money but think a good think you can do might be to try to become extremely good at something it might take a while to get there but once you are you will have some advantage that you wouldn't get otherwise for example some who have researched on how people become really good at something says that better opportunities will come the better you are and also the better you are at something the better you will fell about it (if you are interested in this I recommend reading so good they can't ignore you and deep work by cal newport to know the why you should become good and how to get there) hope you can use it kind regards ?
  9. If you want better concentration I highly recommend deep work by cal newport one of the things he recommends is: 1: focus as intensely as possible (the higher the concentration the more you can do in less time) 2: be bored so it becomes easier for the brain to fire the relevant neurons (even to the point where it becomes bored to concentrate on what you do) 3: avoid attention residue. Its something thats happens when you switch from task to task quickly and it makes your concentration weaker (this can happen a lot if you are on the internet) 4: be aware of tools that can give you attention residue even when you aren't concentrating as it can make your concentration weaker when you go back to concentration hope you can use it kind regards
  10. Well that what the book(deep work by cal newport) is suggesting
  11. There is actually a lot you can do to improve ones iq from what i have read from call newport book called deep work focus is a skill that can be trained (best in isolation and be comfortable being bored for a long period of time and focus as intensely as possible) he also argues that focus/deep work is the new iq and how you train it can give you different (for example concentration while having facebook open will give poorer results due to something called attention residue) results how ever it's not something that is fixed but a skill that need to be trained like you pratice a guitar to become a better guitar player So i am pretty sure you can improve your iq with the right kind of pratice (on a side note some people also think they can't become a good piano player or what ever you want to become good at the research actually shows that anyone can become really good if only the right methods are used such as deliberate pratice, deep pratice)
  12. I would but i am not sure if it's allowed as it says no self promotion allowed here https://www.actualized.org/forum/guidelines/ i have played the piano since 2006 but mostly as something i did for fun but i have considered taking it more seriously lately if your life purpose is music related (that's awesome btw) which part of music (for example performing, conducting composing etc.)do you plan to do?
  13. I don't have a specific life purpose but my goal is to become really good at composing music even if it's probably takes 10+ years lol what brought me more clarity towards this is because i have always been really inspired by people who was extremely good at something and from what i have read becoming really good at something should give you some advantages (from a book by cal newport called so good they can't ignore you)
  14. if you mean peak experiences as something like peak performance i think i know a few books which might be interesting: deep work by cal newport so good they can't ignore you by cal newport Peak: Secrets from the New Science of Expertise by andersson ericsson Talent Is Overrated: geoff colvin the talent code daniel coyle The Little Book of Talent: 52 Tips for Improving Your Skills by daniel coyle i think scott young might also have an interesting blog post on flow https://www.scotthyoung.com/blog/2017/03/29/flow-doesnt-lead-to-mastery/ kind regards
  15. i think cal newport have a good description of what it is which seems to be a lack of novel stimuli (Or maybe lack of attention towards something) i am not really sure if its this what you mean but that what i think it is from my current knowledge
  16. I think this video might be a good solution
  17. Hi if you want to study music maybe a good solution might be self education as there is a lot of good resources(even free) online nowadays where you can learn music theory from https://www.mymusictheory.com/ i think is a good examples and maybe also study how to become really good at something as there is some good research out there (for example deep work by cal newport, something called deliberate pratice etc.) but anyways i think maybe a good thing to do might maybe to study what passion really is before making a huge decision as there are different ways of thinking about it and the results you get is depending on the way you think about it for example there is the passion hypothesis and something called self determination theory(or sdt) The passion hypothesis basically says that you first need to find your passion and then find a job that matches this passion The self determination theory says that if you think your actions are important, you feel you are good at what you do and you have good relationships connected through what you do you should feel more happier at what you do long story short you might end up less happy with the passion hypothesis if you are interested in this I highly recommend reading so good they can't ignore you by cal newport as it explains passion in much more detail hope you can use it kind regards
  18. At the moment i am stuck at overcoming anexity(maybe not exactly anexity but difficult situations in general like for example being out in situations you aren't often in)to the point where i am not controlled by fear i think the reason i am stuck is because we mostly live in an extrovert world which can make it difficult to overcome the fear if it's all around you I don't fear it all the time but it can be hard to face it if the possibility to face it can be from everyone you are around the only solutions i have come up with so far is to train my self to be able to handle those situations for example by faceing one fear every day (not something way to extreme but also so i fully experience the emotions as i have heard it should be a good way to overcome fears but maybe also in a situation where it could be as save as possible to begin with and then slowly processing up to something more difficult for example if it's difficult to say no an example could be to start with small things like saying no if someone offere you food and you aren't hungry) i think one part of the problem is also that it takes up a lot of energy to be outside your comfort zone sometimes both before you experience it and when you experience and after you have experience depending on how difficult it was so it can become easy to be burnt out if you experience it too much that's just where i am stuck at at the moment
  19. I am not really sure it's hard to tell what's likely to be out there it took an extremely long time before we got here since the beginning of our solar system maybe intelligent life is something new to the universe which could be a reason why star wars situations like aren't something we observe or its just rare or maybe the intelligent life out there is very different than what we expect it to be
  20. That would be really cool if this is true in my own opinion I believe that from what i have read is that the reason we have dreams is to prepare us for situations before we experience them in real life (a bit like a simulation maybe) but its really interesting to think about kind regards
  21. Hi i think maybe a good thing to think about maybe is that if you want something in life chances are they are not going to happen automatically however there is a greater chance that you will get it if you work towards it your self maybe you won't get it the first time but i am sure you will sooner or later i know this is probably obvious but sometimes it can be easy to think if you want something that it will just happen one day hope it make sense kind regards
  22. Maybe try to find something you are really interested in and try to be really good at it cal newport have a book about this which is called so good they can't ignore you If i remeber right it explains that the better you are at a specific field and the longer you have been in one the more likely it was to feel really good about it here is a quote from the book: 1) “Passion comes after you put in the hard work to become excellent at something valuable, not before. In other words, what you do for a living is much less important than how you do it" 2) “If you want to love what you do, abandon the passion mindset (“what can the world offer me?”) and instead adopt the craftsman mindset (“what can I offer the world?”).” 3) “craftsman mindset focuses on what you can offer the world, the passion mindset focuses instead on what the world can offer you. This mindset is how most people approach their working lives.” hope you can use it kind regards
  23. Hi could you please do a video about how to quickly and effectively get results in personal development? That would be awesome if he already have a video about it that I haven't seen could anyone send a link please? kind regards Bjarke
