Hi, i would like to discuss and share something weird i have recently discovered. When i relax in a certain way my body starts moving on its own like if possessed. It squirms, twists contracts and rolls around, arms flaying all over the place and the movements can be quite violent and powerful. I don't control anything but i can stop the movements any time i like. It seems to just go on and i have never tried to see for how long.
I have researched this a bit and have found out that some people experience this during meditation or yoga. Those kind of people call it "kriyas" and claim its due to a release of energy or something. Some alternative medicine folks call it "Myofascial unwinding" and use it as treatment for physical trauma. I don't do yoga and barely even meditation and learned to get in that state from holding my breath for long periods of time(for relaxation and freediving practice) and surrendering to the heavy diaphragm contractions that brings. By now i can induce it any time i like literally within seconds.
Have anyone experienced this phenomenon themselves or have any more knowledge about it? It's really quite interesting and feels kinda pleasant to just let go and let the body do its thing but sometimes I'm a little worried it might be harmful. Like i will loose control more and more and get into trouble. Also sometimes the body twists quite hard I'm worried it will break something. I don't know if i should keep exploring it or stop all together.
