  1. This might be a good video for your blog Leo. When you say most people would be better off doing psychadelics instead of expecting to get anywhere with 1 hour meditation every day, would this guy be one of the exceptions to that? Seems like he got more potential than most people. Being homeless might not be optimal tho, but he say he is happy.
  2. Somewhere in the last interview he linked to in his blog. Long video tho, so don't remember where. And also I know he doesn't say you should quit meditation. Only that most people shouldn't expect big result just from that. Agree. I was just wondering if he would be an example of someone that was born with some extra advantage for spiritual work. Just like a super tall homeless guy would still have been born with that "tall gene" that would make it much easier to succeed in basketball. Only if he fixed all his other problems.
  3. You have good advice for young people, but could you make a video for 30-40 year + people who are stuck in a dead end job and have already wasted a lot of their lives?
  4. @DivineSoda Is it even possible to find a conscious business coach? Everything always boils down to the same old "give me your money" message. Just look at youtube. Almost every video ends in a several minutes long "click my affiliate links", "give me your money on Patreon", "use my bonus code", "subscribe, share, like", and on and on. So if you are learning from people who use this kind of strategies that is what you are going to learn. I wouldnt feel good about my self doing that, but then again I dont know a better alternative.
  5. We have a thread about the location of Actualized followers, but I couldn't find a thread about age. Just curious about how old the other members here are. <- 34
  6. He has a lot of recommended books on his booklist. I think regular books are better tho. Its soo easy to loose focus when you are only listening.
  7. Not sure I understood what you mean. Do you have to ask your self questions or think while watching the hand? Is it just a waste of time if you sit watching the hand and think of nothing special? ... should be possible to do a lot of that at the office
  8. Norway. Any other scandinavians doing personal development? Feel free to send me a message
  9. What about Mozilla? Green or yellow?
  10. Hi Leo, It would be really helpful if you could do a video on the actual physical stuff that is "OK" to do when meditating. Every book, teacher and guru always slides away from this question. "Just sit still and do nothing" or "do what you wan't" doesn't really help. Here are some spesific examples, but I'm sure there is more: What if after a while you notice that you have fallen into a slump position and you need to straighten up your back again. Should you do that, or should you just keep sitting in the slump position? What if you have a cold and your nose is dripping? Should you just let that happen? What if you need to sneeze? Do you hold it in or let it happen? What if you need to yawn? Is that OK or should you stop that from happening? What if you get too much spit build up, could you swallow that? What if your head starts to drop down? Do you have to keep it that way for the rest of the session or can you lift it up so you are facing straight forward again? I know this probably seems like noob questions, but I'm sure there are others that wan't to know this spesifics as well. And if no one can actually answer this questions in a serious way that mean that they arent just noob questions after all. I have been doing this every day for a few years now, but still haven't found anyone that are willing to talk about the small spesific physical details of meditation. I just keep doing this habbit and it feels like it has no benefit even tho I have done it for years every single day. Not sure if I'm doing it right.
  11. Not sure if I understand this, but does everyone get enlightened when they die? If so, what do you loose by not getting enlightened while you are still alive?
  12. @Huginn Ok so you actually live in the same country as me then. Whats the odds for that? hehe. I think you can talk to your local doctor. He will probably put in the tests that he thinks are relevant, but as long as you actually have some problem you will probably get more tests than I got. I just wanted a blood test to see some "stats" about my health, but since I didnt have any pains or problems with anything he only wanted to give me a basic test. But remember to call them in a few weeks when the results have come in so that you can tell them to send it to you. If none of the values are outside their normal-ranges you won't hear anything from them. As long as you have the results you can at least use the web to figure out what the different numbers mean and make your own decition if you think the values need to be fixed or not.
  13. Maybe you could start with a standard blood test at your local doctor office? Not sure how it works where you live, but when I did it i had to call them after a few weeks to get them to send me the results because when a person is in general good health and none of the values are outside the "normal" parameters you don't hear anything from them. Sadly the medical industry is focused on fire extinguishing and not prevention. When you get the result you will most likely not understand what the numbers mean, but just search the web and see what ranges you shoul be in and compare to what your test say. Another thing I want to test for my self is pH value. I think that is an important test. For a general good diet you want to at least avoid meat as much as possible. You also want to avoid processed foods as much as you can.
  14. Leo has several books on psychedelics on his book review list. If you wan't to spend the money it might be worth checking out.
  15. Many of them are probably not enlightened, but dogmatic about their own beliefs and opinions. Or they have some other agenda, like making money of the spirituality niche But for the ones that are enlightened and behave like shit... I think it's because they are highly developed in the "waking up" but poorly developed on the "growing up". You might want to read the Spiral Dynamics book, or watch Leo's video about it... or both
  16. If you feel you are spending too much time on Facebook I would recommend you just stop logging in. You will definitly get alot more out of the time you save than the things you will be missing out on (which is probably close to nothing). I just don't understand how people can get addicted to Facebook. Most of what is posted there is pictures of other peoples kids (which all look the same and are only interesting to the parents) and "status updates" where people tell you about their boring lives.
  17. Start to get up 1 hour earlier every morning and do the things you want to get done at the start of the day. Willpower is a finite resource you have every day. The more you use of it, the less you have left. It's easier to get stuff done before you go to work than it is after. (Especially since most people hate their job and are drained for energy and willpower when they come home).
  18. I'm not really looking for the cloud based alternatives. I wan't something that is only stored locally on my computer so that I can choose which cloud service I am going to use my self. For cloud storage I would rather use something like SpiderOak who actually takes privacy and security seriously. For the office programs I use OpenOffice (or LibreOffice which is basically the same). It's open-source so you can download and use the full version for free. But those types of programs feels a bit clynky for note taking.
  19. Currently I'm using Scrivener for taking notes from books. Does anyone have a better solution? Some books are hundreds of pages with a lot of information, so I need a software that have good support for comprehensive notes. It should also have easy access to my whole collection of notes, and not only the one I'm working on. Open sourche software is of course the best if possible. What I'm looking for in a note taking software is: - Notes is stored locally on my PC. - Compatible with Windows and preferably also Linux. - Can write comprehensive notes. (long texts, pictures, some basic text formating).
  20. I've been working tons of dead end jobs for way too long now and I wan't to free my self from the system. I don't want to be tied to one spesific location and have my time and energy drained away by some company. Lately I have been doing alot of research about Affiliate Marketing, but with no luck. Everyone that teaches this is always redirecting me to a squeeze page where they want my contact information to give me some "free course" that is nothing more than a sales pitch for the program they are selling. All the reviews or information on where I should go to learn this stuff is also always fake. It always turns out the reviewer has put his own affiliate link in the review and only wan't me to click the link so that he can get comission. Where can I find someone that is experienced and also willing to help with no strings attached? It's not that I don't wan't to pay for someone to help me, but before I pay alot of money I wan't to at least be at at a basic level where I have seen some actual result for my self and have enough knowledge that I can seperate the honest guys from the scamers.
  21. Is yawning or swallowing the spit that builds up ok while meditating or do you have to sit completely still?
  22. @Infinitesimal Sounds really hard. I could maybe do that in 2-3 minutes.
  23. @Loreena Haha, remember, you have to sit completely still with your hands while meditating, so that would require some kind of assistant or something
  24. @Wind Thanks. I will check that out right away! @Nahm Glad to hear that. What kind of experience do you have? @Leo Gura I see what you mean. I need some kind of income to take care of the basic needs tho. With affiliate marketing I can at least choose to promote products that I actually believe in. And none of the other regular jobs I have had have been more nobler than the other. It always just boils down to doing something that I wouldn't have done if I didn't get payed. On a regular job you can't be your self, you have to watch what you say and be politically correct. I also have to listen to some dishonest boss who are always talking about his or her decisions that is for the best of the others, but it really is always about his/hers own CV and bankaccount. I won't go on all day about why I hate being an employee, but I just have to figure out how I can get out of that meaningless slavery. @Progress Thanks for the suggestion. I did watch the Ted talk.
