EDM creates a perfect environment to make you in the moment. Not offense, but the monotonous patterns and time signatures are actually a good match to go with meditation. All the binaural beats and isochronic tones are around EDM. So it can work. I listen to it sometimes at work because I find it more upbeat than relaxing. There is a lot of debate around this. Apparently rock music emanated out of the yogi's in india and classical maestros after beatles' long voyage there. It has always been connected to meditation and mindfulness. There has to be a strong link to it. No wonder all meditation programs HAVE music in them or at least promote it. I personally prefer ambient forest, beachside and waterfall sounds with my mindfulness session. App that I use has a actual section to play your favorite environmental sound with it: Aura See if the sounds of nature work better for you and you find you answer. -

You must try mindfulness technique, part of which is the body scan. You will learn the difference between the manifestation of your mind and actual throbbing sensation. It could be just a fast beating heart due to anxiety and discomfort over a long period of time. https://itunes.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1114223104?pt=117968031&ct=quora1&mt=8 This is where I learn this technique. Put some relaxing music on low volume. Try this app called Aura - it has 4 minute body scan guided meditations. -

There is no right or wrong, only improvements. they don't have to work better for you, they might. If they do, engage them if they don't, don't try hard to make them. Nothing in meditation is about forceful or pushy techniques. It has to make your head feel it's right. You cannot expect the thoughts to come or not to come, contemplation is a part of meditation, we are not here to escape but go head on with the decisions.- 22 replies

That sounds amazing! Exactly like a guided meditation session I went through this app - Aura. It has really helped me with my breathing, sinusitis and anxiety issues. Even stopped my overthinking! And it was that simple. I had tried everything from yoga to working out to.. well... binge drinking.- 4 replies
