  1. A stage Yellow's vision for a future culture and its design. I haven't studied or viewed all his videos on it, but one part of his vision is basically a global civilization where people live in smaller communities which feed the human spirit and provide all our basic needs. Then we incorporate the technological side to assist us with our work; meaning we do our work online with people around the world, but then we live in communities which take care of all our basic needs so we're not just isolated with the online community.
  2. I'm curious about alternatives to science as an epistemic method. Also, I could see how the scientific method could cover a wider area than what most people might consider science. Like different levels of maturity or development in science. Perhaps there's forms of science that tribes that believe in spirits and superstition utilize, as in they follow the method of developing hypotheses, testing them, and then reviewing them, etc., but it's just that their maturity or awareness isn't as developed as modern science in that regard. Can you provide any examples of something that's completely not science? Or simply some alternatives. For me, this is mostly just curiosity. Like it might also help to see the landscape of epistemologies and help me to see what's what. Cheers
  3. @Rilles Ha! Yes. It might be more complex than this. As in Turquoise (and all the other stages) has Purple within it, and they are in Tier 2 of SD so they can utilize and embody Purple to suit their needs. So if the situation called for it, Turquoise could inhabit Purple to survive in, say, a jungle where they need to band together or something. Or if a bunch of stage Turquoise monks are capture by some Purple Amazonian tribe, they could switch to Purple and fit right in. Also, remember there are different lines of development too. So you might be Stage Turquoise in spirituality, but then Purple on moral or kinesthetic lines of development (though, something tells me that if you're at stage Turquoise in any level, you probably aren't stuck at Purple anywhere). Additionally, spirituality and non-duality may be beyond Spiral Dynamics. I get the sense that Turquoise is kind of beyond spiral dynamics and might not easily fit into the whole picture. Finally, on the point that each stage transcends yet includes previous stages, even stage Orange will have some Purple in it. Leo said in his stage Purple video that if a stage Orange group comes together to form a small business, the atmosphere of that small group working together will be or exhibit stage Purple, tribal, and familial behaviors and values. - This is where I get a bit confused. I've heard that each stage transcends and includes all previous stages, so Red will have Purple and Green will have Orange, etc.. But it's not until stage Yellow and above that you become a "Spiral Wizard". - Does this mean that stages below stage Yellow (i.e., tier 1), will still use and exihibit the lower stages they've trasncended, only that they won't be conscious of them or be able to consciously utilize them? I haven't studied Spiral Dynamics too much, so these views are mostly just bits I've picked up from others (Leo, Ken Wilber, etc.). So take these views with a grain of salt.
  4. Hey. Does anyone have any good books or resources on dating? I'm gay, so I'm sure any would do, but if you know of some specific books and resources for gay men then I would much appreciate! Cheers
  5. I feel like the minions are Purple
  6. I think sometimes for me, dpeending on my mood, different foods can be positive or negative for me. Like, if I'm feeling down or depressed, I imagine a nice cup of organic hot coco/cacao with some cinnamon, honey, maybe even some almond milk or something would be nice. Oooooo, or some extra dark chocolate melted in there too Leafy greens are nice too. Gentle, light and nutritious. Put some olive oil, balsamic vinegar, roasted beets, and roasted pumpkin seeds on there! Mmmmmm... I'm getting hungry.

  8. At a point in reading the Infinite Self-Love part, I felt a decently large change in my body's felt-sense; an opening of love for what's going on with me right now. It was like "Oh yeah. Love." Thanks for the share
  9. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_information_theory Jim Rutt got me on to this. Apparently, according to him, it attributes consciousness to everything; even physical objects, and it mathematically attributes degrees of consciousness to thing. So a rock would have more than a ant, etc.
  10. https://www.jimruttshow.com/tyson-yunkaporta-2/ Jim Rutt interviewing Tyson Yunkaporta Jim Rutt is definitely a systems thinker, perhaps more so than Tyson.
  11. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-05/how-indigenous-thinking-can-save-the-world/12024218?nw=0 Tyson Yunkaporta from Australia. Not the most engaging or expressive speaker. But I think he's got some stage Yellow systems thinking for sure. Some cool ideas.
  12. So I've been listening to the Rebel Wisdom, Doshin Roshi, Ken Wilber, Intellectual Dark web stuff for a few months now and see how each of them, in one degree or another, is pointing out or reacting against (or perhaps a bit of both) the Green, Liberal, and Progressive shadow and cancel culture. I'm a bit torn since some of Leo's comments seem to suggest that many of them are reacting negatively to the Green (as a general term) worldview and that they need to open up to it more. Though, some of their arguments I can also see, and feel, as being legitimate. What do you see and think about this? Do you think the Greens (Spiral Dynamics, not the Green Part), progressives, and liberals going too far, have too much shadow, and are exhibiting many unhealthy behaviors? Or, do you think that the critiques from those mentioned above (the Ken Wilbers, Jordan Petersons, Doshin Roshis, and even Rebel Wisdoms, etc.) don't present a fully balanced and accurate view of the Greens and are largely coming from their own shadows and biases? Side Note: - I think Rebel Wisdom generally has a more balanced position then some of the others (like Jordan Peterson and the Intellectual Dark Web). Though, I suspect they are largely influenced by Ken Wilber's work and may have absorbed some of Ken's views of the pathological Green that has emerged in the West. Do you think Ken Wilber's views of stage Green are valid or not? Cheers.
  13. Daniel Schmachtenberger: great video. Sense-making, perspective taking, considering many perspectives, politics. Here's a book list of his as well. I posted it on another post but agreed with someone else that it might be good to post it here as well. http://civilizationemerging.com/resources/books/
  14. I've felt i've never really been able to belong to a group or form long-term relationships. Like the few relationships I have now are mostly just for having them as needs, like there's not too much connection there. I feel unable to be with others. To feel connected. To feel like I've ever really belonged. I feel so stressed as well, and that I just am so alone lots (physically) and that this is true in terms of feeling alone as well. How do you guys deal with these issues? Cheers
  15. https://www.thriftbooks.com/ Here's an alternative to Amazon for buying books. It seems to be cheaper as well.
