  1. Let's analyze this for a moment. Where did you get this notion of "potential"? Do you think you might just have bought into it, like people have bought into commercialism and materialism? Another industry selling you things you don't need? The reason you long for achievement is because you believe in "potential". Can you see the double bind you put yourself in here with this personal development stuff? The people who are "successful" at certain things are successful because that is their role here in life, it's natural for them. The lie is that it can be repackaged and sold to suckers who think that they can also be like their heroes and "fulfill their potential". How do you know Leo isn't just living in reaction to his childhood wounds? Because I don't see a guy reaching his"potential". I see a guy stuck at home with his head in books trying to learn everything he can to escape his childhood. Can't you be happy with what you got? Understand that you are unique in this life, and that what you are doing (if it feels good) is what you're supposed to be doing with your life? Which is the real lie here? The fact that you are who you are and that's fine? Or your conditioning that there is something wrong with you, and because of that you now find yourself here in this forum in pain, and lost and confused? Ever investigated onto what is actually going on here?
  2. @oysterman The new style is pop 30 g of white powder up your nose and hope for the best ! So all that has really happened is we've all moved from arguing about one theory, to arguing about another. And nobody is none the more enlightened. Because enlightenment is not about paradoxes and busting your ego and it's worldview. It's about understanding who we are.
  3. The threshold IS high on this forum, this situation here. I have just been involved in a different situation where the people are more aware of Dharma, so I'm being over sensitive for this particular situation. I don't think your perspective is incorrect. It's correct and appropriate for you. I guess I have a habit of calling out teachers who are a) not enlightened and B) giving the logic behind it. Seems its not working as well as I hoped lol Maybe that's a lesson for me to learn eh?
  4. You have a theory. Ok..
  5. Sorry, I don't respond to sarcasm. It looks like your desires are getting the better of you and that you will more than likely distort what's going on around you just to get that desire met. I don't think you have been in this world long enough to see what it is. But that's just something you will have to "gain" by your own experience. If you want my honest opinion, enter his community at your own risk. But don't ask about it if all you want is agreement, that's just silly.
  6. I think about the same issues. Why, if this is all God, is it happening like this? I think that the confusion lies somewhere in the notion that the Abhramic cultures with their monotheistic God have left residues of untruth in our minds. They projected an anthromophorpic projection onto reality and tried to fit God into their ideas of what God should be. Maybe this came from misinterpreting insights from non dual experiences? It's easy to form a notion of a benevolent God from having some non dual ephiphanies. But what God really is , is just a set of physical, psychological and moral laws that do nothing else except keep its own system in tact. So I think this accounts for killing. This manifestation is obviously intelligent and it seems to be able to sustain it's laws through violence. I mean, I wonder how else would it manage itself, unless it had this built in system where any violations of its nature are going to be met with the exact amount of deterrent and punishment necessary to keep the thing stable?
  7. Not really about the vibrations thing. It's wise to look at how your teachers are conducting their lives. If someone conflates enlightenment with commercial or business then it's likely that they have a theory that a) They are not living by themselves and B) probably does not work. Projection is sometimes useful, without healthy skepticism everyone would be "trying" everything thrown at them, and where would any of us be then? Out of pocket and unenlightened. Just because it's "free" now doesn't mean it's free. It's common practice for most businesses to offer free products because it generates revenue for the future. This guy has 1000 people going to his seminars at the moment. It's the same as the RSD free tours, you get all this good information and you're hooked from then on, onto the expensive products. Eban Pagan has been doing it for years, making money out of showing people how to make money. Don't quite work with "enlightenment" unfortunately. Sometimes life experience and intuition serves you better than this radical open-mindedness. Once you understand that all of Samsara is the same story you learn not to get drawn into it. These guys rely on suckers. That's what keeps him in business.
  8. This is trolling? Or you just being funny? Can't tell @Birdcage I think maybe you shouldn't take it so seriously, what people say. They are going to say what they say, so better just be indifferent to it all. Nothing that happens in life has anything to do with you. If you do something people don't like, it doesn't mean there is something wrong with you or that you need to fix yourself or worry or do any of the things that are reactive. Maybe the lesson here is an internal one? That life is presenting something for you to work on, be less concerned with how people see you, their opinions about things etc etc. I suspect a lot of us are conditioned to think if people don't find us attractive then there must be something wrong with us? Like we are here to live upto some ideal? I don't know, but what would be super attractive for me is a woman who really didn't give a fuck what people thought of her, and she just focused on living a righteous and healthy life. I find that super attractive. But that's just me.
  9. @Nadie Nadie, The more I contemplate on your situation (or what I imagine of it - so please forgive me for any projections I have) the more I think that this is a no brainier. Think about all those people who stay in abusive relationships just for the security, I don't think any one of them were healthy people, more like dependant and afraid of something that was not going to happen. If your intention is to awaken, then what do you actually need financially anyway? I remember when I moved away for the forst time, and I had a lot of possessions with me which I lost in a fire one night. I temporarily moved in with a friend and ended up sharing with my friend for six months. I didn't even have a laptop and quickly realized for the forst time that I didn't actually need any of the things that I thought I couldn't live without. These days I have nothing, I live very simply and I don't even work full time because I want all my energy for awakening. It makes sense to me, and I'm so much less stresses out without all the extra things I have to think about. Now all I do is immerse myself in the self. And it's great! Hope this inspires, because when you out your focus on the self and you're ready, life will assist you.
  10. Just want to address your comment now actually. Firstly, myself and NTO probably don't agree that much on enlightenment. I have my own ideas, well, they are not mine, they are what belong to my tradition. The Self I speak of is "Atma". Which is the sentiency that you can call your own awareness. Another word for this is Brahman. But when Bhraman is used, it's used to explain the "one" consciousness that is the substrate of all life. So I'm not actually referring to a true self, I'm referring to consciousness itself when I speak of "the Self" No quarrel with this! The ego is the doer. The part of the mind that claims it's doing "all of this". Enlightenment is about understanding that there is no real doer, no "middleman" between pure awareness (Atma) and it's reflected manifestation. The "doer" is in fact just the field of manifestation interacting with itself. Therefore revealing that in fact pure awareness (The Self) never really got involved in its dream, and therefore is limitless, forever free, unborn and therefore immortal. However, I've not heard the thing about filters. That kind of throws me a little, because as long as there is a subtle body, there will always be an interpretation going on. That's just life. Were always going to be a person, and without the ability to interpret reality as it is, were not going to understand that were non dual, limitless awareness appearing as a body. The important factor is that the mind knows that it is free of its conditioning. Therefore there is no need to change it. So the "free from filters" thing sounds weird. As long as the filter is accurate (the vision of non duality in the mind of the person is steady) then everything is fine. That's what we're going for. I also don't understand this non judging thing. Without the intellectual ability to judge things (accurately if possible) then were not going to have much going for us . I might pick up a rock thinking it's an apple and attmept to eat it. Reality is non dual, therefore judgement is also part of reality and this does not change with liberation. Enlightenment is not about losing ability to function in Samsara. I think you have conflated "judgement" with likes and dislikes (vasanas). Which are again, not a problem because self actualisation means that the likes and dislikes have been rendered non binding and merely appear as preferences. Again, I got no quarrel with hard work. I think I mentioned in one of my first posts (24 hours before you posted this) that enlightenment is about hard work. But it's not about changing the person, it's about getting the mind qualified to assimilate knowledge of the self. Once you know you are the self, the world and everything in it appears as fine the way it is. No need to change it, no need to change the apparent person. The person belongs to awareness, but awareness is always free from it. So why awareness would want to change itself because it doesn't like itself is beyond me? It's only people who are unenlightened and don't know that they are the light would feel the need to change the person in any way. I think the main point of all this work however is freedom, and the release of the need to "do things" that invariably land one in trouble because one didn't feel free. Which is Truth. Which is enlightenment. Truth and enlightenment are the same thing. So not sure what you mean when you say enlightenment has nothing to do with Truth? Care to elaborate? P.S. And don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to convince you that your way is wrong, I just couldn't look at what you wrote with a straight face because most of it was not true. This is why I'm addressing it now. Plus your comment calling me a closed minded fuck made me laugh
  11. @Nadie Please, this is not negative. I have politely removed myself from a lot of negative energetic influences myself. Energy gets transmitted and if you hang out with people who lower your energy then yours will be similar. We can't help it. Reality is non dual. I'm sure you are fully aware of what this means. But for the purposes of repitition we are one with our environment, so the nonsense has to go, because you're going to have a hard time keeping attention on yourself if you are always "relating" to what's going around you, and then having to manage it.
  12. Let's stick to the topic. Otherwise it's going to be a difficult read for others.
  13. I could do without the feedback. I don't like being psychoalyzed over the internet lol. Cheers
  14. Haha. I got no quarrel with the drug thing. It's just another experience, isn't it? If it enlightens people that's great. I just don't find it very interesting.. The only thing I am suspicious about are what does it do to the body long term? And how does an experience on it confirm what non duality is, yet Leo continues to plug the "let's develop the person into a Buddah thing" Seems to me that it may not be a non dual epiphany if it leaves one with an impression that there is anything else to be done after the knowledge sticks.
  15. Thanks I meant to get back to you earlier, but I've just been caught up with speaking to others. Nice perspective tho. Will keep it in mind Cheers
  16. @NTOgen Guys, The way I understand it is pure consciousness (you have to understand what that means) has no properties, this is true. Pure consciousness is the "illumining factor" , for want of a better term, it's: "The reason that anything can be ever known" It has no qualities, but it's nature is "aware" and "awake". When the intellect understands that this is who the real "I" is, it can be said that there is a feeling in the subtle body which is more or less the feeling of absolute acceptance. This is why some teachers say awareness is acceptance. Technically it's not, technically it feels like acceptance because the person is no longer seeking in those moments where the intellect regognizes this illuminating factor. It also "feels" like rock solid confidence too, because there is a knowing happening (again in the intellect) that this awareness is indestructible. "Accepting" of the present moment is for doers. When the intellect is exclusively identified with the contents appearing in the subtle body. This is Samsara. The best way to deal with samsara as a doer is to accept it. Or just suffer.
  17. I'm not enlightened. I need to work on my qualifications (as you can probably tell lol ) What would you say I need to work on?
  18. I did see this comment either. The parts of Vedanta that seem dubious are unresolved boubts. The method is, they present the inquier with a problem. They provoke you into contemplating an aspect of duality. (Remember, REALITY is non dual, but the way the human mind experiences is is dualistic - and this is called ignorance). So they present a piece of your ignorance to contemplate. And then resolve that doubt in the next teaching. Each teaching removes ignorance piece by piece and if the teaching is unfolded properly the teacher brings the class to a revelation of the self by the end of the teaching. Then ignorance resumes ( because it's hard wired isn't it?) So off you go again, onto the next more.complex teaching so you can resolve doubts that lingered in the first place that brought your mind back to duality. It took James two years to assimilate the teachings. He was with his guru from 4am till 12 midnight being challenged . A lot don't make it through, but James did, it's hard. This is why you need qualifications, because it's for dedicated people only.
  19. This page is the information for all his teachers and the lineage he belongs to. If you want confirmation that his teachings are consistent with the sampradaya you can contact any of these people. Swami Paramarthananda in Chenni has 2000 enlightened Brahmins all going through advanced teacher training right now . This tradition is not a hit n miss thing. It's the rolls Royce of enlightenment traditions and it's the place most end up if they are lucky enough to find it http://www.shiningworld.com/site/index.php/resources/links
