@Leo Gura sorry for opening an old thread but hope you see I have been thinking and applying what you say. You said "Don't have a child out of external or material obligation. Only if you really want one." How do I know if I really want one or not ? In many areas of my life I find It very hard to realise what I really want ? From you other content, our mind and intuition say different things and we should follow the later. But I find it very hard to distinguish between both of these. When I have two options I seem to always have emotional feelings to both options making it very hard to know which one is the mind and which one is the real call. How does one know what one really want ?

These are really two questions but posting as one since they are some what related. I am big fan of the channel and have done the life purpose course for context. 1. Regret: By the time I have discovered @Leo Gura I already was in my mid 30s and I am really stuck in life. I am doing my best to come out of wage slavey and might have better life than others but will never real reach to great heights practically speaking. I am still not clear on my life purpose after 4 years but woking towards it everyday (I already said Its a great course elsewhere, helped many ways but its taking time). I have constant anger / regret that I didnt have access to such material when I was 15 which could really made my life go some other way. I keep thinking its unfair and waste of my youth due to lack of guidance. I would greatly appreciate input on how to come of this regret and accept the rest of my life. (#1) 2. One child or two for Actualizers ? I had a child in the mean time whom I love a lot, but drastically reduces the amount of effort I can put into self development. I cant meditate on most days as I need to attend the child despite having an amazing partner. In hindsight I should have thought long before having one and he is 3 now. Its high time I decide on child -2 and cannot decide if another baby gives company to the first one liberating me to further work on my life purpose. We dont have any family or friends whatsoever In the country we live as we are first generation migrants. The gap would already be 4 years so we need to decide soon and I am worried about my child not having company at the same time over committing to fatherhood. Any parents input on 1 or 2 children is better for someone pursuing life purpose late in their life (#2) would be great. I know @Leo Gura's answers are generally are of much higher consciousness level but I would be interested in his take on a practical question.

Thanks @Martin123 , @Leo Gura , @mandyjw - Your input has greatly helped me.

Leo said its all predetermined in one of the videos. Something on the lines that our history, parents, circumstances, experiences etc will determine what actions we take or what opportunities / consequences come our away. Also there is no free will. I work really hard. These days I wonder why bother ? Why try ? If its all predetermined whatever is destined will happen ? Also why pray ? It's all predetermined so it does not matter.
-
In one of the videos, Leo said god/ consciousness is something that is exploring itself. The only way for god to be is to live through all possible combinations. In a video speaking about Karma he says the universe is pre-determined. Because of the actions and interactions from the past the future could be actually determined and we have no control of it. These seem opposing to each other, to me. The god / conscious may not even have a time factor. It is intelligent and knows all possible outcomes. Then why explore itself ?

Grateful for Leo and all others who tried to explain. Thanks. I think the penny dropped with this "Knowing and Being are ONE." But its a hard concept to fully realise!

Hello seraphim thanks for your reply. But this sounds like your own belief and what Leo said is nothing like this. I am hoping someone who is familiar with his content can help clarify this specific question. Hi @Leo Gura any inputs ? @Seraphim just to clarify I really appreciate you answering but doesn't answer my question.

Watch Leo's youtube video on Confusion. That will surely help you and he has examples like this.

@SFRL I really like your post. How many kids do you have? Do you feel they are a hindrance at all to your professional and personal growth? As posted in another thread I have one and have mounting pressure to have another one and I feel like this is going to hurt my chances to grow in life. On the other hand we have no family and worried about our child being along when he grows up.

Thankyou @Cepzeu I really hope to improve and also remember to post to you in 6 months or less. Cheers mate.

If you saw Leo's 2 videos one for supplements and one for nootropics the list is endless. I take my hat off for him to research so many supplements and using them well. I would like to start somewhere to help with my anxiety and also help with my overall health and mind-performance. That list seems too long and will be hard to understand what works and what doesn't. I am hoping to find a consultant who can understand my needs and suggest a plan. It would be great to find someone locally (Australia) so they know the local brands but anywhere is fine I guess. I do not think the local doctors or dietitians are good because as in words of Leo "they just make sure you will live but can't make you a high performer". TL:DR : Are there trustworthy professionals who can help me create a custom nootropics/ supplement plan ? What are they called, how do I find them ?

That's a great question and wish someone to clarify further. My 2 cents: Despite experience being the king, some level of 'belief' is needed to survive in the daily world. So, I accept the sun rises in the east, we are not in a simulation, there are 7 billion people, global warming is true, the earth is round etc but leave with a hint of skepticism for everything. Unless my chosen field of mastery is directly related to these areas, I accept them and move along for my time is finite to know everything. Accepting the world is mysterious and I cannot know everything is a realization I recently had and it surprisingly makes me happier and confident. I do not discuss with everyday people that everything is a belief (as opposed to a fact) either. @Cepzeu is this curiosity or is this affecting your personal development? -
@Cepzeu Thanks for your detailed reply. You are obviously in Aus too ! I did get my blood work done and I was cleared by the Docs. I even said I dont want to be just OK, but really good. What I should have (or should do now) is to get a copy of the test and see if they are barely ticking the boxes or really excellent. Here again, I wish there is a service who can help understand these results. I am doing my best with sleep, workout, and nutrition already. I am considering 5-HTP too but there are negative reviews and articles . Each anxiety supplement can be specifically used to increase a) Serotonin, b)Dopamine, c)GABA and d) ATP directly or act as precursors for their production. These are the components causing anxiety or depression. For example, 5-HTP increases serotonin, L-Phenylalanine for Dopamine and L-Threonate is for GABA. There are other supplements like Creatine, Lions Mane, Alpha GPC, Ashwaganda for focus or as a combination. The internet is very divided on all of these and the docs only suggest SSRI. I also want to sort memory, focus etc and be my best. I guess I will try and error, but considering this is the mental health I don't mind getting an experts guidance. But looks like there is no such thing

We know that there is really no good or bad MBTI except each of the 16 types have different interests and passions. However, there is a 5th character which only one site (that I know) offers in its test and this is ASSERTIVE (A) VS. TURBULENT(T). This compares well with Neuroticism from Big-5. Anyone with high Turbulence traits basically are living a compromised life. You could tell to yourself you are OK but you can't imagine how amazing life is on the other side. If you are a ENTP or INTP the blow it is even lethal for the extreme thinking traits we have. Could lead to substance abuse, bad relations etc if one is very high on T. Question and TL:DR : Has any of you realised the effect Turbulence / Neurotism is having on you life ? Is there a cure for this? I am specifically interested in people with high scores who realised this and then objectively worked on it to get their score to less than 10. Please share your story.
-
@SFRL I also think most people are Assertive than Turbulent. Therefore they can't relate to us. There is so far no story of anyone who was very turbulent who got systematically getting better. (Maybe all of them couldn't cope up and died. Just kidding
-
@SFRL Exactly ! The other irony is that until you sort out the "T" its hard to have a meditation and workout habits cultivated. Even when I was on a 1 hour practice streak for a year, I found my Neuroticism was hard to cope with. I suspect Neuroticism is the biggest obstacle to self-actualization and general success in life. I tried sitting with the Emotions as suggested by Leo in one of his videos but that's not as easy for a high T. The next step left is to try medication but again as suggested by Leo its better to try natural / nootropics first. However, the combinations, side-effects, trial-and-error create such confusion, its hard to have a certain list. I am really hoping to find one real-life success story and how-to on this topic.

I believe Anxiety / Constant Anger/ Neuroticism (As mentioned in Big-Five Personality) / Turbulence (As mentioned in Myer's Brigg) is the main reason for people not forming habits, taking big risks and living a meaningful life. It is so subtle that none of you know this monkey is on our shoulders effecting each and every second of you life at a micro level. It exists to atleast some degree and this level of flight / fight response activation is unneccessary in modern times. Does anybody have a story of High Anxiety which they were postively able to reduce to a Zero-level. How did you do it ? ---- The above is basically the question and TL;Dr. Below are details on how I come to this conclusion and other info if you want to read --------- I just had an unusual therapy for Anxiety and Nerves. It some how turned my Anxiety or Flight/Fight response completely off. It is as clear as if someone turned off a big fire alarm with lights and sounds. It felt like I was always playing a video game at a 'very hard' difficulty setting all my life and now its changed to an 'easy' setting. Or like I was carrying a 500 KG on my back while walking towards my life purpose but now it suddenly is off my back. I vividly remember thinking wow, is this how people without anxiety feel like everyday ? My partner said I was so amazing to be with that evening. I also had amazing conversations with strangers and always had a smile ! I had no problem taking a freezing cold shower (shows risk tollerance) and I could never do that before. I was just happy and bold. The effect is wearing of just in a day but may be this is for me like being on a micro dose of MDMA (Never done it so I guess). The point is : I believe the greatest obstacle in life for most of us is being on the Anxiety scale. I'd like to place Anxiety on a scale of -10 to +10 (0 is not anxious and optimal; +10 is clinical anxiety ; Minus values are super chilled people and -10 might die or have not evolved due to overly neggligent nature). On this scale I may be a +6 anxious. I suspect most of you may be around +3 or +4 anxious and you may not even know it. If we all could get it to ZERO to -2. life will be beautiful. Anythinng lower could kill ambition. While the flight and fight response is important having that a zero to -2 setting is optimal in modern life. I think most great people who pulled of great feasts or massive achievers like an Elon Musk, Gates, Obama, Zuckerberg are possibly at a ZERO or less in anxiety leve;l; making them to go for massive risks and habit forming . I have read and tried sitting through anxiety (like Jordan Peterson says) and CBT therapy. But this is a physical condition at the body level and you can do only limited at the mind level. So I think treatment at body level is requured.
-
My problem is weirdly I have too MUCH notes written. Just imagine writing most days of the month for years. I now write my to-do on a physical book as the Evenote (Digital book) has too much info.

All. Thanks for your love and amazing insights. This is turning into a good thread to manage anxiety. Its so sweet all of us here address people by their usernames and not as "OP" or something else, as they do on othe forums. We are such a tight community ! The main reason for me opening is thread is because I had a day of zero anxiety after a therapy. Today is day 3 and my anxiety is slightly back may be because I partied over the weekend. The therapy is called "Bowen" therapy something which a rationalist like me would never believe would work. I went to see a therapist on a colleagues recommendation without knowing what they do and it ended up being Bowen. My back has also greatly improved on which I spent thousands of dollars before in 2 sessions. I will try to report if any further progress here. Observing, Grounding and Coping with anxiety mentally is a welcome input. But I am very impressed to go to ZERO instantly like pressing a button and dont think any of you experienced such drastic change then. I have first hand experience of Zero anxiety so it IS possible. It is like zero gravity for your mind. Did anyone experience a Zero anxiety , looked around the world and thought wow -- this is how the world should be without any anxiety weight on your shoulders. What did you do to achieve this ?
-
Folks, apart from this is there a way to have your Dopamine / GABA / Serotonin levels being full all the time ? May be like taking some herbs ?
-
@universe Thanks for posting Leo's video here. I will surely check it out !
-
Yes, This is exactly how I felt @Wyze Thanks @lmfao From my experience I think in the near future they will find a simple solution for Anxiety, Until then what you suggest only seems to be the solution. Have you tried Ashwagandha, L-Theanie etc ? @Psyche_92 Thanks for the amzing tip that anxiety is energy. Could you further explainn "Grounding and sinking" ? Did you have first hand experience reducinng anxiety ?

Because as per this theory you are in Level-2 of Meditation. -

Hmm. You are NOT the blank canvas. You are whatever is written on the canvas. If you are canvas is empty you are not born. Because even after an hour after birth there is an hour of canvas content which is you. How did you get this insight anyway ? -
Folks, I feel one of the biggest secret's out there is that "Everythng is an inner Game". This is however very high level and one would benefit understanding the specificis of this. For me I realised through a lot of self-analysis that Anxiety (Or Neuroticism) is what has been holding me down. I suspect many of you donnt know but even a minor anxiety could prevent you from forming habits, taking big risks and other valuable things in your life.
