@Elisabeth Exactly. How well does he know his successful friends? What I've heard & learned is that if they're your friends & successful, they want to pull you up with them. If they're not your friends though, they're not offering anything. All of the friends he's discussing probably have some techniques in place...the goal would be to find out what they are & steal it where applicable. 8-}

@Max_V Well you don't need a grip of steel & we're not talking about titty-twisters...that would hurt..haha.

@CuteCornDog Why not just limit the time you spend with these disloyal people and make a little time for yourself to find some new ones? I once played a little game with one of my "frenemies" once...hahah. The guy would only want to hang out with me when he wanted something. Over the long years, I had caught onto it & I was tired of it. So what I did, was I didn't pick up the phone, wouldn't respond to calls. Next thing you know, he's calling & texting a billion times to get in contact with me...lol. What I learned from that experience is that I could create more value by being absent & thought about in my absence, as opposed to always just hanging around & being treated like some gopher or flunkie. They can get the gift of missing me & at the same time obtain their respect & I don't even have to be there & can put my mind to more important tasks.

I've read that book twice and then skipped around in it the third time. The book was written a long time ago. I would suggest checking out the What the Health documentary on Netflix and aspire to eat a green veggie diet. I've been doing that with Leo's soup recipe for the past couple of weeks now & it has a very interesting effect on the mind. When I'm out of soup, I fall back on veggie junk food. So far, all of my gut pains & any gastrointestinal distress from the standard American diet in the past, is gone & my body has an empty feeling to it...like water. At the same time, my mood feels elevated. If you're a professional athlete however, I suppose you would follow your diet advice from your coach, but if possible, this going veggie has been an incredible experience. I've been doing self-development for about 5 years & I've only started doing veggie diets this summer. Finally. Disclaimer: I haven't given up dairy (greek yogurt, fat free cottage cheese), Krill pills, and my Bulletproof Coffee ingredients. But the diet is still working to great effect. Hopefully, I'll have another blood checkup soon & will see how it's turning out. I've drank Bulletproof Coffee for 1.5 years now & haven't had any ill effects either, just by the by.

Take your self-help books to the psychologist & ask questions based on what you found in the books. That should help things along when he/she knows you're participating in your own rescue.
-
@kieranperez Let's start with a few questions to get a proper diagnosis: 1.) How long have you been in self-development? 2.) Are your successful friends really your friends? How often do you see them? 3.) Have you ever thought about joining your Father's trade since you are out of work? 4.) Who tells you that your self-development is a distraction?

@Ryan_047 Neuro-Linguistic Programming. If you do an NLP search on YouTube, there're several videos. Check out the ones that explain it & avoid the ones that are several-hours long lectures because I've found those very confusing (and mic is only working on one speaker, which makes it difficult to follow).
-
@Ryan_047 Have you checked out NLP? I hear it can be used for such things, perhaps creating an anchor for how to think of a time when you are not anxious, etc.

I had this problem with caffeine and being overweight. I went to a cardiologist (sent there from the ER where I was freaking out on a panic attack). Once I cut out the coffee, the panic attacks went away. I can drink lot's of coffee now however, but I'm also lower in my weight. I've had a septoplasty to help with my sleep also, and having good sleep is a must. Did you get a sleep study done to see if you have sleep apnea? It has to be a physical symptom of some kind. I have the same thoughts & pressures as I did when I was young & I don't get anxiety from anything mental. I hope it's not mental for you, not sure what you could do with that.

@Serotoninluv He blew his brains out because he thought he was losing her? Or was he just crazy? That's too extreme in either case. Damn. I'm getting a 90 second time limit on posting. I guess it's time to crawl back whence I came...

@Spiral I get you now. For me, I don't like having female friends. The stuff I've read over the years has explained that it gets you out of your masculine element to have too many of them. So I do a bros before hoes mindset when it comes to friends & keep female friends as acquainted, but not close. It seems to work out better this way. Otherwise, I get to find out who's fucking them & I don't need to know...hahah.
-
@Serotoninluv Wow. That's a real mindblower. Did she survive?
-
@blazed It's not talking, it's typing & I'm a very fast typist. You're telling me that my thought process is wrong & then giving instructions. Seriously? I didn't think it was that important that I thought Carrey was an idiot.
-
@Spiral It's the girls that do the picking. If you're around a bunch of women, if any of them had any interest, you should've had at least 2 of them competing for your favor. If there weren't any & you were going for the hottest, then it's best to just ask for the number and leave. The hottest woman with her friends is going to have her pick of the litter, so if a guy shows up, she may want her other friends to have a shot, while she waits for some godly alpha to show up...lol. @abgespaced There can never be enough videos on approach anxiety & getting girls numbers or how to talk to them & keep the conversation going. I'd like to see your take on those.
-
@Serotoninluv There should've been signs that she would cheat on you. Have you ever checked out Doc Love or the other dating coaches? If you did you would know when she was becoming distant & could avoid walking in to see some other guy pumping her. When I can tell that a woman is like this, there is no masking the illusion. I can't pretend & look away from it. She'll have to leave because sticking around is just engaging in temporary fantasy land. There should've been all kinds of red flags popping up before that door was opened.

I went into the Comments section of those YouTube videos where Carrey is talking about his Tetrahedrons...haah. The comments were condemning the lady who asked how he was doing when he began spouting off nonsense. From what I can tell, there was no condemnation of Carrey. There was condemnation of the lady holding the mic! And you're doing it now when you accuse me of being a sheep because I think Carrey is full of shit. That is my opinion & not the opinion of the "masses". That YouTube video link you sent is dogmatic as hell. YouTube is riddled with it. Netflix is carrying it with the latest Rammed Ass documentary. The stuff is everywhere so I'm not sure how you are not seeing it. Maybe you're not looking? I can see it up into my eyeballs. Again, I don't need to be reminded & I can still think Carrey is an idiot.
-
@Visionary You're calling me "Sheep" because....I'm not following the dogma?? Since last year, when the worm turned on spirituality, the amount of enlightenment dogma coming from every direction is continuous. I don't need to be reminded on a daily basis or by anyone. It's turning into a belief system. I'm not following the masses in that direction, so I'm not sure how that makes me a sheep, sheep.
-
@ElenaO I was thinking about this as well. He's saying he's afraid of hurting the "good girl". It implies that he is also a cheater. Otherwise, how else do you hurt someone? How do you hurt the nice girl with the loyalty and goodness she's giving you? The thing is: once a cheat, always a cheat. If you're cheating and attracted only to cheaters, well it looks like it's in the brain wiring. I'm not sure how you can get out of it because to get out of it means you would have to settle for the good girl, for whom you cannot stand.

How I learned it is that I would hear of something in self-development that I liked & then I told my friends about it. But later on, I thought it was a dumb idea & no longer agreed with that strategy. Other times, I could see they thought I was a nut merely on the suggestion. So at that point, I didn't bother mentioning it anymore. The only lead by example I can see is when for instance, someone mentions to you that they're having issues with cholesterol & the pills don't work. I then point them to the "What the Health" documentary & tell them how I've become mostly vegetarian & they'll try it themselves & are glad for that. Or if they see how much I've made from stock investing, they'll ask me about that. People want to see results & they have to have an interest. Some of my friends don't care, so I'm not going to push them. They don't have to be clones of myself to be appreciated.

He sounds ridiculous. These aren't the things you say at a celebrity get together. If they wanted to interview someone about enlightenment, they could approach the Dalai Lama or another spiritual leader. Just spouting off nonsense on TV makes him look like an idiot that might be tripping balls one to many times.
-
I don't think you have any control over this. I'll become neurotic without realizing it & see it in hindsight.

smd replied to Scarecrow's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
This is one of the first books I read back in 2012 when I started self-developing. I was extremely confused by his talk and meditation, but yes, that is exactly what he's talking about in the latter half of the book after life purpose stuff. -
@Gerhard Yes we know someone was there, even yesterday. And yet, no reply. Maybe a video had to be re-shot. I guess we'll find out eventually.

@Joseph Maynor Alright. If there is nothing wrong, then there is no reason to make assumptions that he just needs a break. Leo has said in the past he has 3-4 years of material. It would be very easy for him to make several videos in advance that can be automated loads on Sundays. Since he has kept his Sunday schedule for 3 or more years now, there isn't any reason to assume he would just quit without warning. Lastly, if there is nothing wrong, it would be common courtesy to post on his Insights or Forum or YouTube comments that there won't be a video. Ultimately, I don't mind there isn't a video, but I do mind that he hasn't taken 10 seconds out of whatever, to say it's cancelled, so I won't have to waste my time checking on one, since the video uploads don't always come up in a timely manner on Sundays either. Secondly, why would people be worried about Leo? How about having dealings with the shady drug world? Overdosing? There have been people that have killed whilst on mushrooms. The CIA/Federales may have arrested him or shut him down for all we know. They could have him contained & be riffling through his things. Or maybe he just went nuts? We can look at Jim Carrey and his recent nutty discussion about tetrahedrons at a celebrity function. Or how about Eliot Hulse? That guy has been dropping shit & telling people we chose our parents before we were born. Everyone is saying he's completely lost it. These psychedelic experiences people are having & reporting back aren't adding much value either. It's like listening to an alcoholic babble nonsense. So yes, there's a lot to be worried about. Leo's absence can make his viewers (I don't like the word follower) raise a lot of concern because he's turned into the direction of dangerous shit & now he is at high risk of a serious cock-up. Another case in point, let's look at Coach Corey Wayne. Just about all this year, he has been shooting from his new beach house in Florida, but since Irma hit, he's reverted back to his old video and has answered no questions at all, about his beach house being destroyed. I think everyone is assuming he's uploading old videos through the automated process & not answering any questions, likely because he's out there picking up the pieces of that beach house. But so many people have raised a concern, you would think he could mention it & get our sympathy..but there is nothing. I've noticed Leo's last response was on 9/11 from his tweet, email, etc. I figure he must be on a solo retreat & he may be putting out extra content about it like last time. Or perhaps he's about to introduce a new course? I doubt, or at least hope, that it's not another video about psychedelics...the topic is won and done already. I've been watching other self-development folks advancing a great deal of material in less time, that haven't gone into mushrooms. These drugs are a drag on the effort IF one is going to produce self-development content. If one is giving up, then common courtesy is to let viewers know.
