Do not pursue self-inquiry or enlightenment until you are on track with your life purpose that will actually bring you in money. Until you can do that, Enlightenment work is too destabilizing to take the risk when you are too-underdeveloped with your emotional and monetary foundation.

Maintain relationships, no matter how solitary and peaceful you become. Take meditation slow, or the resistance and emotional purging can be really difficult for keeping your life together. Read at least 30-hour everyday of Leo’s booklist. Focus a lot on success books, rather than spirituality if you’re young. Do lifepurpose course at least one hour a week. If not, you’ll regret it.

Have same problem. Having good parents can make this even worse. #1 = STRUCTURE. Stick to routines and set timers for shit. Only thing that saved me. Wake up same time every morning and set agenda night before. #2 = Cold Shower every morning, first thing when wake up. It will be hard every morning, but the euphoria afterwards will give you that reward system and make you start to like discipline more. Also, makes you a beast for the next two hours. Positive momentum and energy.

The Dilation Syndrome In sports, injuries can result from being too flexible, or more flexible than you are strong. In meditation, a crucial balance seems to be sensitivity and strength. Meditation does tend to make you more sensitive, and if you meditate just the right amount for your daily activity, living your life and pursuing your passions will make you stronger. But if you meditate too much, you may become too sensitive too fast. I am thinking of calling this The Dilation Syndrome, because it may be related to the chakras opening too rapidly. The analogy I am making is that opening the chakras is like learning to dilate your pupils – if they are too wide open, then they will not adapt to the light levels, and bright lights will hurt your eyes. You may then become afraid of the light or think "the light is hurting me." I have just been noticing this syndrome in people who started meditating in their late teens or early twenties, when their personality is not fully formed and they are not fully engaged with the world yet. Here is how the syndrome seems to begin: the individual starts meditating during college years or just after, and has profound inner experiences of peace. They also absorb Eastern teachings encouraging passivity. They do not get the teaching that you need to balance meditation with expression. The more you meditate, the more you need to go out and live it up. They read spiritual material, cultivate a mood of equanimity and calmness, and become more sensitive than they are strong. As a result of cultivating sensitivity, they start to hate everyone. Because they see themselves as spiritual, everyone else is unspiritual in some way and fallen, except for certain spiritual heroes, who would be the dead Asian males on their altars, and maybe one living Asian male. Then they cover this disgust with humanity with a veneer of compassion or tolerance, and there they go – a person with artificial layers, who even 20 years later is irritable. The irritability shows up in problems forming lasting human relationships and a complicated internal balancing act.

Yes, but expect a lot of emotional turmoil and mood swings to occur, as a result. -

“How To Be a 3% Man” by Corey Wayne. Way better than Models - top book I found. Absolute epiphany every page or so. Gold. Good to pair with Superior Man.

Good shit. Sounds like pursuing success a little more is a good strategy until you feel a little more gravitate towards the spiritual path. Success will give you the discipline and confidence to tackle the spiritual path in an appropriate matter. Unless you’re ready for intense emotional disturbance, success may be a better pick for now. I ramped up my practice too soon and not too committed to the path, and the emotional upheaval really took a toll on my life and success, so be sure you’re very motivated for spirituality. -
Seeing through this Consciousness lens is really dangerous, and can lead to a ridiculously high standard of perfectionism, arrogance, and close-mindedness in relations; as well as dehumanizing people as egos, in my experience. I dropped all my friends but one, and totally regret it. Looking back, even though they did some low conscious activities, these friends could hold good conversations and provide insight. Be careful not to dismiss advice a low conscious person says based upon their actions (drinking, chasing girls, money). If you're young (19ish), do not do this hardcore hermit shit yet or waiting for the perfect high conscious people to come into your life. Especially if you are a little ignorant of your self-deception mechanisms, intense isolation from people can lead to a lot of ego-backlash, social unawareness&selfishness, and comfort seeking behaviors. The ego turned "Lifestyle Minimalism" and "How to Cure Loneliness" as an excuse to not go out and experience life. This demonizing of stimulation/fun/sex and girls was a stick up my ass - that knocked me off the path. Remember, SAVOR LIFE, LET LOOSE, and experience - everything is NOT about Enlightenment or being high conscious 100% of the time. Doing otherwise will fuck up your enlightenment and deepen ignorance, perhaps. Living in a Self-Actualization Bubble is good 60% of the time. Experience and Stimulation is still CRUCIAL for PD.

@Leo Gura fucking fuck I wish I would’ve seen this sooner. Hilarious haha. Thanks for the wisdom.

I read only a couple of books on Leo's booklist, but didn't spend more time reading because I thought if I read too much without taking perfect notes or taking massive action, it was a waste In hindsight, reading like 20 books even with no notes, is way more ideal, and not mental masturbating for a noob. You NEED IT FOR WISDOM. Don't let the "mental masturbation" excuse keep you from reading. Set your expectations high for the booklist - at least 1hr reading a day. Gentle Reminder.

@Leo Gura very good wisdom. Yeah, I would highlight all the minute bullshit. The gems is a good reminder, thank you for the feedback.

No, apart of awakening. Meditating can be a huge fucking cu**. I would recommend slowing down the meditation time to an hour if the mood swings are too much to handle for the balance of your relationships, eating habits, work, sleep, lifting, etc. If it's debilitating you, it's not worth it to rush the journey so fast. Take care of your normal responsibilities, too, or you'll regret it by making stupid or hasty choices out of emotional instabilitity/highs. -
After Meditating for 500-1000hrs, I decided Meditation Teacher/Enlightenment is my Purpose, because I became a hyper-aware and authentic self. However, I lost my high-consciousness and I'm back in my egoic self, and I'm craving a more social/success/filmmaking type of career for my current level of consciousness/personality, and Enlightenment seems far away now. How to reconcile this drastic change in personality/quality of desires?

@Dan Arnautu spot on. Very kind of you from your heart to take the time to write all that shit down

@Dan Arnautu thanks a lot bro

I chose ego over truth before a breakthrough, and then self-sabotaged for two months, namely because I could with a comfortable parents house and two community college classes. It's getting worse and worse more I'm here in my comfortable home. Now, I feel trapped and like all the other chimps. Good idea to gain my consciousness back by being around those I wish to model?

The problem is I'm addicted to society/food/mimicking low conscious people in my class that it seems best to surround myself with high-conscious till I get my foundation back? -
I'm miserable and lost on this self-Actualization path. No drugs, barely any friends. Aside from deep conversations, where the fuck is the pleasure in life???

Thank you so much everyone for the replies. Makes my heart warm to see all the helpful people on this forum trying to make a contribution.

@Shin only a bonus, thanks, bro.

@Azrael oh my fuck, bro. Your words spoke to me so perfectly - you knew the core issue. If if I desire to drink&socialize should I drink with my friends? I got in a rut because I literally cut all contact with 100% of my friends b/c I didn't want to drink.
