  1. Just increasing caring in general doesn't help. It has to be directed at something that's meaningful to you. The reason you don't care about the same things as your mom is because you have a different set of values. Those things are very important to her, but you don't see why it's important. Between different generations, there's often a gap in what people value and care about. Lots of things in life are actively harmful to care about. Someone might be a religious zealot and constantly tell you that you should care about religion or you'll go to hell. Or your friend might be a racist and think it's important to care about oppressing other races, and tell you that you should care more or else your race will be replaced. That doesn't mean you should blindly care about those things. Try to think if there's any logic behind the things she cares about, or ask her why it's important to her if you can't figure it out. For example, she might care about keeping a clean house to prevent mice and insects inside. Other things like what you wear to the shops, her reason might just be "people will look at you funny / think less of you" and then it's not something you need to care about.
  2. This woman needs her meds adjusted. If she can't watch a dog video in the middle of the day, imagine the breakdown she'd have watching something like this:
  3. Is there any relation between this concept of alien consciousness and what other people have historically referred to as aliens? Specifically I'm thinking of people who've claimed to channel aliens like Seth, Bashar, Galactic Federation of Light, etc. I think there was some book Tom DeLonge recommended with techniques for making UFOs appear at will, etc. Obviously one is a direct experience and one is indirect. It's like the difference between observing or communicating with a shark, and actually becoming a shark. But are we at least talking about the same animal? If not, alien seems like a strange label for me too. More finite and restricted than God. I feel like God, or anything non-human has a sort of alien-ness to it by default. Alien gives the impression we're talking about something physical and material to most people, I'd imagine. I'll buy it lol. I agree it sounds almost like an April Fools joke but I'm open-minded enough to listen and try the exercises and see for myself. I'm sure the first time you guys heard about enlightenment or that you are literally God you thought it was absolutely bananas too. I'm open to the possibility that Leo is now not just hundreds of years ahead of his time, but thousands. Or maybe this was the 10% bullshit he told us he'd be sprinkling into his lessons going forward . Only way to find it out is to become an alien or fail trying.
  4. For me it started to decrease a bit in my 30s. It still comes up in summer with hot women in tank tops and short shorts all over the place. Sometimes while driving or in the mall I'll find myself checking women out, but it's not every single one any more. Part of it is maybe sex drive naturally decreasing. I think I've also just got tired and jaded with age. After 20 years of lusting after women, you can only see so many variations of women before you've seen them all and it starts to get a bit samey. You can start to actually focus on other interests without constantly chasing sex. I feel like I have higher standards now as well. It doesn't sound like it's the situation in your case... but I think for people who've only had 1 or 2 sexual partners, it's also easy to start getting obsessed with what sex would be like with X other kind of person you've never been with. Wondering if your past partners were good or bad at sex and wanting a larger sample size. Wondering if different pussies feel different or if they're all the same, etc. I personally had to end a long term relationship over these kinds of thoughts to branch out and have more sexual experiences, or I would've been tormented by these kinds of thoughts forever. If someone marries their high school sweetheart for example, without exploring their options and "sowing their wild oats", I think they're setting themselves up for this kind of failure. I think it's also good you're able to talk openly to your gf about your feelings toward other women. If you have to keep them secret and hide them as a shameful thing, more chance you're going to do something stupid. I've always had a crush on one of my wife's friends. There's just something about her that really does it for me and I can't get over it lol. But my wife and I have talked about it, and just discussed practical ways to make sure I don't do anything stupid. Because if given the opportunity I'd probably cheat, I've done it in the past, and I know that about myself. It's like not giving an alcoholic an opportunity to drink. So we agreed I shouldn't hang out alone with that friend for extended periods of time to give an opportunity for anything to happen. And I've chosen not to text her because I probably wouldn't be able to stop myself from flirting, so if I wanted to talk to her regularly I'd make a group chat with her and my wife or something. Most women would probably just freak out at you for expressing those kinds of feelings, which doesn't help anyone. It's fine to look and even fantasize. Just don't let your dick ruin your life chasing short term pleasure.
  5. Fake it till you make it If you emulate someone for long enough it becomes a habit and causes a real change in you.
  6. If your life purpose requires fame and riches to make you fulfilled, then you probably need to re-evaluate. Even artists like Van Gogh or Kurt Cobain who end up killing themselves, you might think they had regret for how they spent their life at the end. But more often than not it's just unrelated substance abuse or mental health issues because artists tend to be volatile people. It's clear they were passionate about their life purpose at their peak, and would've devoted themselves to it, with or without fame and fortune. A life purpose isn't about what you get out of it. You literally can't do anything else.
  7. 1. How have you come to the conclusion that your high body temperature is caused by lack of sleep? 2. Have you taken your temperature with a thermometer? Do you have a fever or do you just -feel- hot? Maybe you have an actual illness like flu or covid causing an increased temp. 3. If lack of sleep is the cause, why can't you just sleep? Or focus on things to help you sleep instead? 4. Why focus on eating as the main solution to cool you down? Instead of something like taking a cold shower, or putting an ice pack on the back of your neck? Or sitting in front of a fan? Aren't there more effective ways to cool your body besides eating? The best thing to eat, besides ice or cold things, is probably nothing. The digestion process raises your metabolic rate, which in turn slightly raises your body temperature. So the best choice would probably be to fast and drink ice cold water. Or think of what you would want to eat on a very hot day... not much, maybe a small salad.
  8. That's hardcore. Do you ever worry you'll regret it? It seems like a huge sacrifice, especially when it comes to dating and social life. Or you're just so detached that you're certain you'll never want those things later on?
  9. I guess technically a non-monk could wake up 3 hours early every day to meditate before work. Then go work a normal day. Come home and spend your entire evening meditating for another 3 hours and then go to bed. Most people want more in their life than that though, it'd be a very robotic and boring way to live. I think the best way to do it would be to live a much simpler kind of life. You could combine something like the monk lifestyle with the Amish lifestyle. Hours a day of prayer or meditation, combined with hours a day of meaningful hard work that tires you out. You can see the immediate result of your work, whether that's farming food, building horse carriages, or whatever. Very strong sense of community, combined with strict community-enforced rules for how to live your life. That would at least cut out all the modern conveniences. Problem is that if everyone lived that way, it would be hard to organize more complex parts of modern society, like hospitals and good medical care. Probably universities wouldn't exist any more, skills would just be passed down within the community. So a lot of specialized knowledge would be lost in a few generations. Basically would be like setting civilization back 300+ years. If you got your entire country to see the wisdom of living this way and everyone agreed to shift the whole society in this direction... You'd immediately be taken over by another country that stayed modernized and industrial. If you want to be a monk, it's better to do it on an individual basis. You don't need to go to a monastery, but you probably need to live an ascetic lifestyle away from modern society. If you aren't joining an existing organization, you're probably either going to go live in the wilderness as a hermit, or form your own little cult.
  10. I could argue the opposite: - Bulky winter clothing adds am extra personal space layer, makes women feel safer and more receptive than when they have their bare arms, legs, and neckline exposed. Makes them feel less ogled or objectified by men since they're covered up, so they aren't as on the defense. Less self-esteem/body issues. - You could probably incorporate more kino into day game in winter, touching a woman's puffy winter jacket sleeve or rustling her winter hat or beanie, but you'd never touch the bare skin of someone you just met during day game in the summer. - Lots more opportunities to start up conversations by saying helpful stuff. People look out for each other more in the winter. "Watch out, there's a slippery spot over there", weather talk, make up some story at the bus stop about your car getting stuck in the snow, ask the hot single mom nextdoor if she needs help shoveling her driveway, etc. - People are generally in a better mood and more receptive to talking to strangers around the holidays. - People are more playful in the winter. You could yell "hey catch" and lightly throw a snowball at a woman and I bet she'd be more likely to smile than freak out on you. More opportunity for goofy prop comedy stuff. "My friend and I have been arguing about who can make a better snow angel for weeks. If I make a snow angel right now, can you rate it for me out of 10?" - Heat generally makes people more irritable and short-tempered.
  11. Okay have fun living in a universe where the only person you can have sex with is yourself. I'll stick with the illusion of supermodels. Even if in absolute reality it's just painting my hand to look like a supermodel, it's still more enjoyable to me. Are we just going to start answering every thread like this. "How do I make money" "Well in actuality you can't, because nobody really exists to transact with for your goods and services." Just enjoy the game, man.
  12. I just don't get the appeal of giant speakers and pissing off your neighbors by blasting your music. For way less than $1,000 (probably half that) you can get an amazing pair of ultra-comfortable, wireless, noise-cancelling Bose / Sennheiser / similar headphones to wear around the house that will sound even better. If you need to feel the ground shake, just go to the club.
  13. Selling services or information is infinitely better than selling products. No shipping, no storage and overhead costs, no upfront investment. Spend a couple of weeks learning a basic skill and then start selling your expertise. There's like an infinite number of ways to make money online. If you can't find them, you're either looking in the wrong places or not asking the right questions.
  14. People have been playing sports for as long as we can tell. Ancient Native Americans had them. The first Olympics were held in the 8th century BC, which is like 2,800 years ago. Maybe in the distant future people will outgrow sports. But no chance in our lifetime that we go from pro sports being billion-dollar industries to not existing. Or people literally not being able to remember what sports are when reading references to them in a book. Lots of stuff in Shakespeare isn't a thing today, and we need to have the context explained. That's just a part of studying literature. If you try to read Beowulf it looks more like a Scandinavian language than English. Even reading Old English texts by people like Chaucer a few hundred years ago is a struggle. If you want your stories to survive the test of time, you've got bigger problems to worry about than sports.
  15. I'm in I vote we all have to change our profile pics to the coomer meme for the rest of the month if/when we fail. At least I'm going to hold myself to that.
  16. Yes, if anything I feel like female friends have a lot more value than male friends. Male friends are fine for hanging out with and doing activities with. Maybe occasionally they'll help you with something like moving, or building a deck. Female friends will drop everything to help you in your time of need. They'll watch your kid or dog with little/no notice. If you're sick, they'll drop off medicine for you or go grocery shopping for you. They'll come pick you up if your car breaks down. I guess the big thing is that guy friends will do stuff if you reach out and ask. Female friends are deeply in touch with how you're feeling. They'll anticipate your needs and do stuff to help out or make you feel better, without you even having to ask. Idk maybe I just have some really good female friends lol. It sounds like you're friendzoned, not in a friendship.
  17. Every insight he's had on psychedelics, that go beyond what existing teachers like Peter Ralston, Ramana Maharshi, Eckhart Tolle, Terence McKenna, Sadhguru, Mooji, Ram Dass, Osho, are able to accurately tell you about the nature of reality, enlightenment, god realization, etc. His deeper levels of awakening that he's been able to experience and convey, that no other spiritual teacher, monk, or anyone else has been able to experience. No other spiritual teacher is going to tell you about what it's like to be an alien consciousness, what it's like to connect to another god conciousness, the deepest levels of awakening, etc
  18. In general, I'd be less inclined to rush things that have long-term implications or serious consequences. If you fold your laundry in a hurry and it's a bit messy, it's probably fine. If you rush doing your taxes and make a big mistake, or if a doctor rushes through seeing a patient and misses a cancer diagnosis, the effects are more severe. You have to look at everything on a case-by-case basis. There's not much benefit to making a generalized statement on rushing. I will say that lot of that "extra bullshit" is there to make sure things get done in a consistent way or to avoid errors. You don't realize why it's necessary until it prevents a mistake. It might seem like you're saving time by reading extra fast. But it'll cost you more time if you read too fast to comprehend it properly, and need to come back to it multiple times. You might be able to get away with skipping safety precautions or removing safety guards to make things easier when using a table saw. You might do it hundreds or thousands of times without facing any consequences, and it'll save you a lot of time in the short term, but eventually you'll lose a finger if you do it long enough. Rushing tends to lead to carelessness, and carelessness is what can cause really disasterous results in many areas of life.
  19. > Scientists, engineers, and growers are racing to find efficient ways to grow more food without compromising the earth > Monoculture farming > Organic carrots > Spraying herbicides There is nothing sustainable about putting 4 million carrots in a single field. That's so far disconnected from nature it's not even funny. That's how you end up with crazy pest pressure, because you create heaven for insects and critters that prefer carrots specifically, which means more need for insecticides. Permaculture, silvopasture, agroforestry, regenerative agriculture is the way to go. You can create a closed-loop system the way nature does in forests. You plant a bunch of plants of different guilds that are meant to live together, and they all work together to make the whole ecosystem stronger and more resilient. But you can't plant perfect rows to use your $200,000 tractors in that setup, to help prop up corporate mega-farms and put local farmers out of business ?‍♂️
  20. Sounds similar to what I've experienced twice on THC (one time oil, one time a single vape hit), minus the samadhi. I didn't let go, I just used music to try and hold on and ride the waves. 95% waves of anxiety and terror, 5% pure bliss and maybe a slight hint at no-self. About 6 hours of just trying to hold onto reality until I could finally sleep it off. I thought maybe it was just since I did concentrated THC. So I've been considering trying actual marijuana to see if I handle it any better. But if you got that fucked up on the actual plant then I'm gonna pass hahaha. Also if weed hits me this hard, I'm terrified to ever try mushrooms or DMT now. I don't get how anyone can do weed recreational and just sit on the couch relaxed and laughing. Although with both THC oil and vaping THC, there were multiple times where I took it and nothing happened before my blastoff experiences. Then I took a similar dose and it messed me up bigly. So I kind of have a theory that it builds up on my cannabinoid receptors or w/e and then all gets released at once when I hit a certain threshold. No idea if there's any truth or science to that though.
  21. Seems fine. Food dehydrator would probably be my go-to. If you don't want to pay for one of those, I'd put an oven on the lowest possible setting. If you can't get the temp low enough you might have to prop the door open, which has an added bonus of letting moisture escape faster, probably will take 6 - 8 hours. Leaving them sitting on paper would be my last choice just because of increased risk of mold. In a temperate climate in fall/winter months when the air is naturally dry it's probably fine. If you live in the tropics or in the hottest part of summer it'd be riskier. I would avoid the solar cooker because it seems like it'd get too hot. I've seen people cook meatloaf and bake bread in those kinds of setups. I don't know what temp psilocybin starts to break down but it must be above the boiling temperature of water since you can make mushroom tea. I would try to stay close to or under 100 C / 200 F to be safe.
  22. What's the alternative to creating a marketplace and commodifying people? Even if you've got a jewelry shop selling diamonds... every diamond is special, unique, and 1-of-a-kind. No two diamonds are identical. They each have their own origin stories and history, their own flaws and inclusions. But at the end of the day, they're still commodities. Everything has a generally agreed-upon worth to it, even people. There are millions of other fish in the sea. It's not practical for everyone to get a 1-hour interview before they get swiped left on. Going on first impressions is a necessity, unless you want to make finding a partner your full-time job. Dating is different from being in a relationship. Once you're a few dates in, then you can start to set your ego aside.
  23. I'm in Canada and it's not been an issue. I've been publishing on KDP since 2015. I've never heard of anyone outside the US having an issue with it. I've been in Kindle ebook courses with people from all over the world, the teacher of one course was an Italian guy living in Dubai to take advantage of 0% income tax and he obviously had no problems. Once a year I need to take 2 minutes to fill out a tax form to confirm I'm not a US citizen, so I qualify for a 0% tax rate and they don't withhold any money from me. Otherwise everything is fine, the money goes straight into my bank account every month. Which ironically Amazon Associates won't do for some reason, they insist they can't pay by direct deposit yet so I only get a cheque every time I hit $100 of affiliate income. If you're in a 1st world country and not somewhere that PayPal is banned or similar, then I can't see it being an issue. Just make an account and try creating a book. Lots of Youtube tutorials that will walk you through step-by-step, although it's not much more complicated than creating a Facebook account.
  24. I recommend doing No Shave November or Movember as well. Show everybody what your testosterone is capable of producing. If you've never tried to grow a beard before, you owe it to yourself as a man. If your boss gives you a hard time about not shaving, tell them it's for prostate cancer awareness, maybe get a charity fundraiser going with all the other guys in your department/company. With regards to the original image... I agree the wet dream rule is dumb since it's outside your control. Also watching porn and having boners is majorly playing with fire. I'd recommend even avoiding Instagram or anywhere that scantily-clad women might pop up unexpectedly. By a couple weeks in, you'll be eyeing the women on your junk mail and random product packages as it is. No need to play on hard mode.
