  1. There's also a reason people say "Never meet your heroes." Maybe Sadhguru and Eckhart Tolle are dicks too. Maybe you'd think most people are dicks if you interacted with them enough. The difference is you'll never know, you don't get to personally interact with Sadhguru or Tolle 1-on-1 on a forum, you can't @ him for his opinions on every topic under the sun. Remember first and foremost you don't really know Leo, you just have a parasocial 1-dimensional idea of what you think he is like from his videos. That's maybe where most of the disconnect is coming from -- scripted videos vs authentic off-the-cuff comments. Aside from Youtube videos, comments you see here, little clips on his blog of him out at the club... you have no idea what he's really like 95% of the time. Nobody can live up to being that infallible guru that you watch deliver a lesson for 1-2 hours a week.
  2. He's not an Eckhart Tolle woo-woo teacher and never claimed to be. He's one of those Zen masters who hits you with a stick when you start to fall asleep or answer a question wrong. Being forward and upfront is a teaching style, if you don't like it you're might be better suited to another teacher. If I had to guess, some of this attitude may have been from being on old forums back in the day. Check out his video "How I Lost 65 Pounds in 5 Months" where he references one of these posts @ 15m34s... I get the same kind of vibe from some of the stuff he writes here today. "Shut up. Who the hell are you to whine to me? Shut up already! Stop boring me with your stories. Don't give me your little stories." He's in a tough position and I don't envy it. Most of the actual spiritually advanced people who watch him don't waste their time making thousands of posts on forums. They're actually doing the work, or at least have fulfilling enough lives that they don't need to waste their time arguing with people on the internet. So in some sense, I'd guess that most of us here are among the worst people that watch Leo's videos, slightly above those who just stay in Youtube comments and don't have the agency to make their way over here. You have to admit that most of us say pretty dumb stuff and ask dumb questions here. Reading dumb posts for years on end because you feel like you have an obligation to your community, I'd be pretty short-tempered sometimes too. That being said I get the concerns you have and I do see room for improvement. After the last big forum shakeup, I recall him saying he would try better to make higher-quality posts and be more empathetic. Personally I haven't seen a change for the better but maybe this post will be a chance to try and recalibrate. Or maybe just take a step back from the forum for a couple weeks or something. Like a paying customer suggested a certificate of completion for the life purpose course and he just replied "No" On the plus side, just the fact you can make a post like this without it getting immediately locked or you getting banned is the sign of a good leader, it's not like he rules the forum with an iron fist. I deserve to have been banned about 5x over by now He is a benevolent and loving God. Sometimes love means giving someone a non-compassionate response. I do think a lot of the disagreements, problems, resentment, and inter-member hostility would just go away if we got rid of the politics section. That's where I see most of the kind of arrogance and non-compassionate style you're referencing. That whole section a big distraction and impediment to this work. Imagine if we just got rid of it and went back to the core of what Actualized.org was originally about. No politics, no current events.... if we won't still be talking about something 2 years from now, then it's probably not worth talking about at all. (inb4 "No")
  3. Most things come with a tiny amount of risk, but it's not worth becoming a germaphobe over. You are constantly breathing in dust, pollen, bacteria and all kinds of stuff. Hundreds of millions of people in the world eat exclusively with their bare hands. And their hands are probably dirtier than yours are after you touch your cat. So I wouldn't worry too much. Your penis is all external and it's way harder (but not impossible) for guys to get yeast infections. When you visit a city and touch a handrail or doorknob and then touch your face, you're shocking your immune system way worse than touching a cat and then your dick. If you're otherwise healthy and not immunocompromised, most people can eat raw eggs, raw fish, raw beef and not even get sick. However when you make out with someone for an extended period I do think you're swapping a significant amount of your microbiome. I've noticed permanent shifts in things like what my breath smells like after going from one relationship to another. With cats your biggest risk is toxoplasmosis. Especially if you change its litter box or it's an outdoor cat. I think like 1 in 3 people have it. On the upside it supposedly makes you appear more attractive to other people and it's relatively harmless. But it may also make you more likely to engage in more risk-taking behavior. Parasites are weird.
  4. I don't know if learning about business in general will be very useful. It's like if you wanted to learn to sing, dance, and act in general. It's a bunch of different disciplines that you really need to study on their own. Start off just asking questions and then watching Youtube videos to learn the answers. What is money, what is the history of money, what does fiat currency mean, how is money created, what is fractional reserve banking, what is the Federal Reserve. To start making money or starting a business you can look up stuff like best job for teenagers, how to make money as a teenager, investing for beginners, how to buy stocks, how to make money on youtube (or whatever you're interested in), how to write a book, etc. As you look up this stuff you'll probably find a few channels that you like which keep coming up over and over. That's probably a good sign to subscribe to them and watch all of their videos if you're finding them useful and educational. Be aware that in the finance and self-help space there are lots of scammers. And it's also possible for people to provide lots of helpful information but still be scammers or trying to take advantage of you. If you just want general exposure to business stuff, put on any business TV news channel (they are the ones with the stock tickers running across the bottom 24/7), or watch Dave Ramsey on Youtube. Go to the website for your local community college, look at their business course and it should have a list of all the classes you have to take to graduate. Write those down and start researching each of those topics on your own. Math, writing, how to use microsoft office, human resources, marketing, accounting, economics, entrepreneurship, business law, operations management. Then once you study those, find one you like the most and really master it.
  5. Maybe heartburn, I get heartburn when I eat really sweet (especially syrupy) stuff. Just your chest and abdomen, or does your esophagus or at the back of your throat feel painful too?
  6. I don't know of any specific sources but I googled psilocybin test kit and looks like there are ones in EU for €15. Probably need a separate / generalized test to rule out fentanyl etc. Overall this sounds sketchy af. There's no reason for them to powder the mushrooms, it's just more work for them. So I would bet more likely than not it's cut with something. Probably not heroin which I think would cost more than the mushrooms. Maybe cheaper research chemicals to give you a crazy high and make you come back if that's all you were looking for. Most likely they're just mixing in dried portobello mushrooms or something to cut it lol.
  7. I think they would get a ton of stuff done. Just not to help the groups you've mentioned Helping their corrupt buddies get even richer. Both sides do that when given the chance. I think politics for the near future is going to be people getting disenchanted with one side, then electing the other as a majority. Then remembering the other side is just as bad and flopping back again, over and over. You can do whatever you want but it might just get undone in 4 years. Look at all the executive orders Biden signed undoing Trump stuff on his first day. I think that's the new norm going forward. You just undo all your rivals work and start over on your own agenda again every term.
  8. What are the bread crumbs? Most of his teachings are pretty explicit and upfront. Are you suggesting there is some hidden message that only the most initiated are hearing or able to piece together?
  9. How To Make A Woman Squirt always #1 The first Spiritual Enlightenment video is probably the most groundbreaking, it created a whole new genre and set the foundation for dozens of videos that came afterward. I come back to the one about how to shop for healthy foods most often The last video in the concious politics series with tons of actionable stuff we need to do like stop lobbying would probably be the most transformational and practical for society.
  10. This reminds me of when people get super sad over a famous musician dying but they had never even listened to their music until after they died. Who had actually heard the name Don Beck before today, even if you are familiar with Spiral Dynamics? I hadn't
  11. I swear the progressives have got to be just trolling conservatives with this at this point. Nobody is this pedantic about any other terminology. There is no disconnect, both sides are just pretending to not understand the other in passive aggressive ways. Progressives, just call out conservatives: "So you don't think trans women are real women" and vice versa. Debate the actual hangup instead of looking like an idiot not being able to define a woman. For the average person I feel like the people unable to define women seem like they're being dishonest. They can't say what they really mean because it'd be too unpopular with voters today, so they have to be vague and evasive about it. I dont get how this even became a big issue. FTM trans people are a fringe minority. They are having what, maybe a couple hundred out of the 3 million babies born every year in America? It's a statistical blip. From a political perspective I dont get how this has become such a big issue, like whose interest is it in? LGBT people make up like 2% of the population so it's hardly worth fighting this hard for their votes. And American politicians never actually do something because they're principled and want what's best. So what's the real agenda here?
  12. Evil is subjective. There is no universal right and wrong. Your ideas of evil matter to you because it helps you create a cohesive worldview. People do lots of things you might consider evil, even though it doesn't affect their survival. You can choose to squish a bug (or drown a bag full of kittens since the first example probably doesn't create a visceral enough reaction) even though it doesn't impact your survival one way or the other. Does it matter? Only if someone wants to punish you for your evil and you get caught I guess... whether that be the police or God. And having to live with your own guilt and shame from doing evil.
  13. They can go pretty deep. But since the foam expands and holds itself in place, you can only put it in as deep or shallow as you feel comfortable. If you are worried you can cut a bit of foam off the end to make them shorter, and they won't fray or fall apart at all.
  14. It's an odd question. Why would you assume there ISN'T a point to it? Millions of people do combat sports and find it meaningful. People devote their entire lives to mastering it. People pay to watch it. Would millions of people do something that they find pointless? How are you defining something "having a point"? If you mean if it will be meaningful or worthwhile to you, only you can decide that. Is there any point to painting, singing, learning to become a good cook, skiing, being a race car driver, or anything else? Are there any embedded assumptions you're making, like eventually you'll become so woke that violence won't have a place in your life so there's no point in learning it now?
  15. Usually you can't see them in the city very well because of the light pollution. They'll be very light streaks, basically you'll wonder if you imagined it or not. The further out in the country or wilderness you can go the better. I used to see the Perseids a lot while camping
  16. Make yourself into a man worth marrying
  17. Levelling up
  18. You make a biodata sheet and circulate it to all of your family and friends, saying that you are looking to date a girl with the intentions of marrying her and settling down. Then they find girls and bring them to you. It's easier than in the West if you have half-decent connections. Let your parents talk to their friends with similar-aged daughters or nieces and do the work for you.
  19. First you have to break them out of the thought loop. Their brain won't allow them to even entertain heretical teachings. Their proof that the Bible is real is that God wrote it. God is real because it says so in the Bible, and the Bible is infallible. For a certain kind of person, the best course of action is to turn the Bible against them. Point out as many contradictions as you can. Point out how immoral God is, how God sent a bear to maul a bunch of kids for making fun of one of his prophets, that kind of stuff. There's a smaller minority of more nuanced person, who you can show a whole bunch of Bible verses through the lens that they're actually explaining non-duality and enlightenment through allegory. Some people are brainwashed enough that you'll never break them out of it.
  20. Free Guy Ryan Reynolds realizes he's an NPC in a game and his creator explains to him that his whole world is a lie. It's a comedy, but has some good Matrix or Truman show -esque tie-ins to enlightenment and metaphysical stuff.
  21. Find a gf before you worry about marriage. Graduate before you worry about your career. One step at a time This is almost 100% coming from a place of scarcity. Why the rush? You can have a kid at 30 or 35 just fine. It's very unlikely that you're going to find a high-quality girl willing to marry you while you're stuck in school not earning money for the next 5 years.
  22. There wasn't any context provided with this graphic, but I'm assuming the thought process behind it is the same as what I'm thinking.... I would always focus on getting the menial and lower tasks of life figured out first. If you're stressed about money and basic things, it'll be harder for you to work on spiritual things in the long run. At 17, you can work on your life purpose for the next 8 years and you'll still only be 25. That's like 50+ good years left to work on spirituality. Your energy will go down every year so in my opinion it's better to grind while you're young and still can. You MAY find that your life purpose aligns with self-inquiry, introspection, and enlightenment. In which case you have the best of both worlds. But otherwise I would get your material needs sorted out first.
  23. Really only you'll be able to answer this for yourself, and I feel like we are missing a lot of context. For example, do you print the shirts yourself or just upload designs and have another service print+ship them for you? Personally I wouldn't worry about nasty comments unless it's something true, like that the quality of your shirts needs work. If you put yourself out there you'll probably receive nasty comments. Whether it's selling shirts online, making a Youtube channel, or whatever else. You don't have to give up the t-shirt business to start looking for alternatives. No need to cut it off suddenly, especially before you've identified something you're more passionate about. If you find a new purpose, see if you can work t-shirts in as the medium. Some people's medium is watercolor painting, others write books to express themselves. You make shirts. There are a bunch of different life purposes that you can fulfill through t-shirts. If you decide to go all-in on t-shirts, I would try to make the absolute best shirt you can. Order samples from 50 possible suppliers and wear them all for a couple of days, and find the best shirt out there. Of course you need great designs, but the shirt quality itself should be enough to get people raving about it to their friends. Give people the softest and most comfortable short they've ever worn, not just some artwork slapped on a Gildan. Don't let the shirt itself be an afterthought, and don't let your designs be just a commodity. I don't know if you're interested in just putting graphics on shirts or more of a fashion side. I came across this recently and if I was into fashion this would definitely inspire me to make it my life purpose to create this kind of stuff: https://www.demobaza.com/collections/cardigans-demoman Make the kind of clothes that people literally can't find anywhere else.
  24. The most powerful. Might makes right, it's survival of the fittest. History is written by the victors. Historically it's the most physically strong or those with the largest army. Today a significant amount of power comes from propaganda and shaping discourse to bend people to your will. I don't know if that's who "should" rule but it's who will.
  25. I've done it without psychedelics by pretty mundane means. Once while tobogganing. Someone with me said it was the first time they've seen me really smile. A couple of times in nature, especially around waterfalls or water. Once as a teen when I stayed home alone while the rest of my family went camping. Around day 4 I just had an urge to go stand in the grass with bare feet and felt something probably like what samahdi is. I think a key is to not be around people, or only around people you feel you can truly be yourself with at least. To reach the childlike state you need to let go of all self esteem issues, feelings of judgement, or wondering what people are thinking of you.
