The personality is a fixed thing to you because you believe it is. That's not true. The difference is between experiencing what the ego is or not having done that process.

@aryberry That's not what I meant there. I meant ego is tricky in this way. When someone see's someone who has recently shed their ego, the peace of mind is obvious. When someone sees someone who shed their ego long ago, and has been living the life they have been choosing, and are fulfilled and content and living in the now, it can appear to to someone else who believes in their own enlightenment, but has not created their reality, that the person has never undergone any processes or transformation to begin with.

In the sense I think you may be asking, yes, they are all the same thing. They are constructed of beliefs. All beliefs are what prevent truth and enlightenment. The product of these things are the very list of things one has to let go of to get to the truth.

@blazed How long have you practiced meditation? I'm surprised to hear that your thinking is still getting in the way, given your rituals.

Religions, and Buddhism, are perspectives. Following them is believing. Learn quantum mechanics instead. This sets you free. If the topic is enlightenment and seeing through reality, scientists did this to the furthest extent currently possible a very long time ago. Learn the science of reality and form your own understanding vs believing or not believing what another person has said about it.

How are you using all this info in your life?

@Flare I will check him out today. I'm curious about what you're saying. How could it be possible that any new information could change the observer effect / uncertainty principle and quantum erasure / delayed choice? The very point of the understanding of these principles already encompasses any new observation.

The thing to learn is self sufficiency, self fulfillment, happiness from within. If you're happy with nothing, then you can enjoy anything without 'attachment' emotions. Like a lot of things, it kinda boils down to doing daily meditation, and connecting with our higher whatever-you-like-to-call-it.

So, no concept of death at all then? (You're reference was to something you have no information about) Realiy does not exist without you observing it. (Verify this for yourself with scientific research) Does this reveal anything to you about death?

Go to Peru. That much is obvious. Realize you don't need anything from your dad unless you keep believing you do. Counseling wouldn't hurt. How many days in a row, up to today, have you meditated? Perhaps you are having panic attacks and not doing shit for yourself at all. Maybe I'm totally wrong.

@aryberry A place a lot of people get to is the discovery of what the ego is, and transcending it. I place few people get to is the understanding of what The Uncertainty Principle revealed about reality 100 years ago - and then actually implementing it in the rest of their life. This is pure liberation that many who teach transcendence oriented paths still don't understand, which is the very thing that motivates them to continue teaching, unbeknownst to them. No action is unmotivated. It's good to understand one's motivation. Until a teacher understands this, they continue to see it as ego in others. Only when they reveal this to themselves can they recognize it in others.

It makes me happy to hear you point that out. Sometimes I get the impression that people are moving their own enlightenment away from them, unknowingly, by thinking when it happens they will just magically be euphoric. The magic is that you see the truth of reality and of the ego, not that it disappears. You are very wise in your point - without the ego, there could be no experience at all. When someone who is a living breathing person says they have no ego (vs have transcended ego) it is a revealing interaction.

Science has- grasped it. You just haven't learned the science. No offense, I don't mean it like you're not intelligent, you obviously are very intelligent. I'm just referring to the balance topic (loosely). If you start studying quantum mechanics, eventually you will find that what is already known to be true about reality is far more mind blowing and magical than anything fictional or mystical could ever be. The crazy crazy crazy part is, that it is surrounding you right now in this moment.
