I am in non thinking all the time. I had epiphanies for years, then revelations for years, then an explosion around 5 years ago. That pop never went away. The newness did, but not the difference. All other facets of me and my life adjusted to it. That took a while. I would describe my current thinking as engaging a thinking mechanism both effortlessly & purposefully. Engaging it is noticeable, whereas before, even after letting monkey mind go, it was closer or instantly assessable. Now it takes a second or two and I notice the inclusion of thinking in my awareness. The non thinking is still present and the thinking mechanism is within it. Like a lone type writer in a large room. For a long time I was reactional, then had the impulses but did not express reactions, now I don't have the impulses. I also notice there is hardly any physical head / brain sensation. No stress reactions at all. When something "goes wrong", I know it's just part of something bigger going "right", and I'm happy to see that. There doesn't seem to be any "demands of attention and pressure". I love what I love to do, what I like to do, what I want to do, what I should do, what I need to do. They're all worthwhile, just short to longer term growth in them. I have practiced daily meditation for 23 years. Self inquiry for about 27 yrs. Deep contemplation only in recent years. This has enhanced every facet of my life and everything I do I can do better than before and with much ease. Work wise, I have experienced myself 'rubbing off' or influencing others to the degree I have delegated all of what I used to think only I could do. I would not describe this as in a void. It's quite opposite to me. Everything seems slower, richer, more agreeable, and as if time were not a factor, I appreciate more and have more fun. Asking if you can go in & out of "it" is like asking a 20 year old if he can be 8 again. It just doesn't work that way, but there is the memory as a relative point of reference, but all of my memories are visually distant & fuzzy, but at the same time they are more emotionally present. It's hard to give first hand experience because all facets of my life and inner work are in harmony and at peace with my current trajectory and growth. There's always an infinite amount more to learn and experience. That is thrilling to me. Btw, I know the average age here is much younger than me. So if anyone is reading this and on the fence about diving in to PD, Leo's LP course, and all things PD...do it. Start now. I see a lot of pain in people my age who didn't. That's pretty much everyone I know. If you don't get started now, a day is going to come that you're going to be older and see it in someone who did. And it's going to be very, very hard to bear. I see that very often, whatever people use as their excuse not to do PD; work, family, etc - they will deeply resent that person or people later in life, because they just don't know better. Like all things worthwhile - START YOUNG! -

@S33K3R you. Are. In. The. Zone. Yes. I think individual stages. I'd like to do the first one.
-
@S33K3R That's a glimpse of genius right there. I'm in. I could learn a lot doing that. I often wish that the material I read when I first started had articulated practices would only be done in a unique mode / state of mind. Suggesting that some initial growth only comes from thinking, some only from doing, and some only from nonthinking / being. Also, Aligning the diet could be addressed quite seriously at a specific place on the 'scale ' of 'progress'. As in, one can not feasibly proceed beyond this stage without letting go of the ego's grip in food choices. The diet can make meditation so much easier, or so much harder unbeknownst to a beginning meditator.

@Joseph Maynor yes. its relative. gravity is lower in the assemby as in higher energy, than even space time, so likely..no....technically possible....yes. the relativity is the issue though. have entities ever done this on earth.....i say yes, and the giant fuckin shroom foreheads are a baltant clue. -
@Electron fearlessly doing what I want right now.

@WaterfallMachine thank you

@heisenburger Pick what you want to do. Read a book about it. That will feel best. Love the name.

@spicy_pickles On a positive note....the trouble with getting meditation started and habitual is indicative of the amount of growth you will gain from it. You lucky bastard. Feelin a little jelly. -
@Will You're too smart for me Will! Brilliant!!!! Enjoy!

@Max_V Start with 20 minutes a day. Start with meditation and be aware of all the sensations within you body. Be aware of the sensations around you, sound, air, etc. Shift your focus back and forth between the two. Let them merge together as they naturally already are. Ask what am I. Watch Leo's 3 part enlightenment videos. IMO he did an incredible job with them.

@Brody Just experience the trip. Don't try to hold to a preset agenda. Do the opposite. Let go of EVERYTHING. No party favors needed. No disco ball. No killer sound system. No person, no thing. The best of what's around is already right in you. Let the trip have your filters. Give them away.

@Will If you did the practices, you would be able to put it all together for your self. You can't explain anything 'wrong'. Keep expressing yourself as honestly as possible in every moment. When you're barfing up words from a mediocre place, don't try to rationalize it. See the words for what they are. See the trajectory they are coming from and where they will be taking you to. Change that trajectory using you words, writing, thinking, running, meditating, eating better....whatever, just make sure to change the trajectory. You think you know what wake up means?

@Will Last night most of my friends had beers, etc, and celebrated 4th of July. We all had a good time. Not sure how they're feeling or what they might or might not get done / accomplished today. Today may be a day they continue on their path, or it might be a day of recovery, and perhaps tomorrow they get going again and pick up where they left off. Do you see how what we're doing / not doing is what matters and so heavily influences what we think and therefore how we feel, which loops back to what we are doing right now. You must interrupt the cycle you are in. The probability is that you will do things today most similar to what you've been doing in all the previous days. Don't do that. CHoose well being. CHoose your connection.Do different. It is possible. I'm running my 50 minutes right now and then meditating for 30 min, so I know how today will go for me. I'll be connected, creative, loving, open minded, energetic and in love & awe, even if for only today, with God, the Universe and everything that is possible. Thinking does not get us very far. You've mastered it. You're the smartest person in the entire fucking Multiverse. Now practice your way to non-thinking.

@alyra The mind is like the eyes. You are seeing what you are looking at.

@mia_lea They're not problems, they're the vehicle by which you grow & expand. See your friend in challenges.

@nahtanoj Thoughts then emotions. If you want to feel differently about it, think differently about it. -

@Preetom I gave my car to a stranger in need at Blockbusters and walked home. I have given guitars to just about anyone I know who is wanting to learn, as well as always offering free lessons. I helped a homeless guy literally get cleaned up and hired him. It worked out good. I road a bike 300 miles in 3 days and raised enough money on Facebook for a MakeaWish kid to go to Disneyworld. I hired a kid fresh out of college into a six figure job and offered him what limited PD I know. It was his very first job. I paid off my parents mortgage and bought them a car, so my dad could retire. Last month, I donated money to the local em elementary school so the kids could do a project where they made a big pyramid and learned about ancient practices. Last week, I made the down payment on a house for someone struggling. I point out to people that they have free will. When my son has night terrors, I hold on to him until it passes. When people talk, I listen and focus on the best them in hopes they see it to. This is the only post we really need. I hope it "trends". Giving can be infectious. -

@nahtanoj Buddhism is about awakening your self. There's no such thing as a Buddhist follower, it's doing the practices or not doing the practices, right? (assuming their not asking you to donate money, or trying to molest you, save the world, open another 'campus', etc). You are going there and doing practices. Doing the work. Not worshiping, right? I don't see respect & acknowledgement as accepting dogma. "If you meet the Buddha in the road, kill him." -
@TeamBills If you are doing what you enjoy then there really isn't anything to Solve. We can only check the validity of this within our selves. The point is be joy. To be without suffering. To live a life you would live again in a heartbeat.
-
@Socrates In meditation, let the thoughts pass. Don't react to them. This is a practice which develops the ability to focus on what you want & how you want to feel. Over time, with enough practice, you won't react to much, if anything at all. When you master that, now you're creating you & creating your life. Those unwanted thoughts won't even arise any more, no more monkey mind. It takes time, enjoy the process & celebrate the victories.
