@Terell Kirby It does though. Nondual confusion is an oxymoron. The ‘one’ ‘who’ believes someone is calling that ‘one’ anything is the ego. -

SELF INQUIRY This is a meditation technique of enlightenment, i.e. "self realization". By realizing ‘who’ you are, the bonds of suffering are broken. Besides realization, self-inquiry delivers many of the same benefits as other meditation techniques, such as relaxation, enhanced experience of life, greater openness to change, greater creativity, a sense of joy and fulfillment, and so forth. Focus on the feeling of being "me," to the exclusion of all arising thoughts. 1. Sit in any comfortable meditation posture. 2. Allow your mind and body to settle. 3. Let go of any thinking whatsoever. 4. Place your attention on the inner feeling of being "me." 5. If a thought does arise, ask yourself to whom this thought is occurring, as this returns your attention to the feeling of being "me." Continue this for as long as you like. This technique can also be done when going about any other activity. Many people misunderstand the self-inquiry technique to mean that the person should sit and ask themselves the question, "Who am I?" over and over. This is an incorrect understanding of the technique. The questions "Who am I" or "To whom is this thought occurring?" are only used when a thought arises, in order to direct attention back to the feeling of being "me." At other times the mind is held in silence. This practice of turning awareness back upon itself, prior to the ‘I’-thought, is a gentle technique, which bypasses the usual repressive methods of controlling the mind. It is not an exercise in concentration, nor does it aim at suppressing thoughts; it merely invokes awareness of the source from which the mind springs. The method and goal of self-enquiry is to abide in the source of the mind and to be aware of what one really is by withdrawing attention and interest from what one is not. In the early stages effort in the form of redirecting attention from the thoughts to the ‘thinker’ is essential, but once awareness of the ‘I’-feeling has been firmly established, further effort is counter-productive. From then on it is more a process of being than doing, of effortless being rather than an effort to be. https://www.actualityofbeing.com/self-inquiry -

@Terell Kirby The ‘claimant’ of (these) states is the ego. The ‘one’ asking is ego. The ‘one’ who wants to be sure is ego. -
@Felli Spend your energy & time on income and move out. Let dad be with his thoughts, emotions and ideally a psychoanalyst. Tend to your well being. You can’t suffer enough or give him enough attention for him to tend to his well being. You can exemplify anytime though.

@Terell Kirby Keep seeking. Keep meditating. When you’re awake, you aren’t. When you’re God consciousness, you aren’t. -

Nothing is laying dormant, there is no anxiety, there are no states, there is no self bias, there are no doomed spirals. These are write offs, cover ups. Notice the shift in focus from that self referential thinking (thoughts about a separate self having all of those)… to focusing on what you want, and notice the difference in how that feels. (Better) The suffering is / are those subtle thoughts about being a separate self. The relief in focusing on wanted feels better, because it is aligned with the fact that you are the creator of your reality. Not the one the thoughts are about, but the awareness, you. The One aware of the thoughts. Notice also the thoughts which are the justification of there being a separate self, and begin to recognize that is how the suffering and seeming lack of focus are created. That is what the ‘doomer spirals’ are. (“Something is laying dormant / subconscious… anxiety… states… bias… doomed spirals… parts of me”). Notice those thoughts are devisive, separative & therein intrinsically manipulative. Instead, acknowledge, feel, honor, understand, and receive the guidance of the emotion experienced. Focus on what you want feels good and is not a distraction. It’s conscious creating. The self referential thoughts are distractive and discordant. Ignorance of emotions is not existential dread, it’s just innocent ignore-ance of understanding emotional guidance. That’s aversion, or, existential conceptual rumination about ‘the separate self’ / suffering as a means of not feeling and understanding emotion. Intuition goes through the roof in the sweetest way inevitably… with daily meditation, and respecting & understanding the guidance. It’s connective, inclusive, honest, sincere.

There is truly no perceiver, no perceived. Perception, subject, object are appearance. The ‘intellectual’ & the ‘interpretations’ are assumption & are illusory (via thought attachment / the separate self) and is what suffering is. -

Yes & no. That ‘something’ is a thought. One can experience jealousy without hatred, and hatred without jealousy. Keep it as simple as possible with the scale. -

Meditation is non-doing, allowance of the settling of the self referential thinking, which is the ‘separate self’, which is what suffering is. If interested of course, google The Buddha and pain vs suffering. Great documentary called The Buddha on Netflix. Very simple and straightforward. Expression is the way. Silencing you or your voice is suppression. Allow the thoughts & discord of others, to be, others. -

@Endangered-EGO No self isn’t something one is led to, it’s already the case. The resistance to sitting & equanimity, is the suffering, which is the belief in a separate self. The neuroticism is being accredited to ‘the self’. That, the belief in the separate self is the neuroticism. There isn’t actually either. Just the resistance and suffering of the belief. Find the one who suffers literally. Go to the sensation of the suffering and see what it is literally. There either is or is not the experience of suffering, because there either is or is not a separate self. -

Suffering is like the pipe. -

Belief… vs direct experience. Past & identity, as compared to this. -

@fopylo I think it’s good, not knocking it. I think that you’ve gone from essentially ‘wtf is wrong w me’ to understanding emotions at the depth you are is really great. I do also think not reinventing, or remodeling the scale is the most effective use of the scale. Put another way, it might be slipping into being contextualized, which could defeat the whole usage of it. Maybe a way to point to that, in this experience there isn’t a thought a second ahead or behind, because why would there need to be with live, real time guidance. The only thoughts ahead, are now, and of wanted, and the guidance is infallible perfection in manifesting it. I think that was a pointer to less depth, or really no depth, being the deeper ‘juice’. There’s usually an exploration of emotions, and then the actuality or realness of the recognition that it is the teacher, or, the guidance. -
@machinegun Thats douchery.

@WokeBloke The best advice most often goes completely unacknowledged. The ego loves grandiose ruminations, and refutes fundamentals. -
@machinegun Would you say that to her face?

Wiggle your fingers. You do. What could be more obvious? (Not ideas of you, not ‘the one who / which is responsible’, or that which is moved, as those are thought / ideas of a you.) -
Nahm replied to WokeBloke's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@WokeBloke You’re assuming form is other than ‘your’ thought, form. This is thought attachment. Specifically, thought activity of (that is) the separate self. No beliefs (repeating thought activity) no form, no separate self. Cessation. Meditation. -

The links above are only added so that you can see a bird’s eye view of your own trajectory, or more simply said, that you see what you yourself have been saying all along. Imo, which is all that you can receive from me or anyone else so to speak, there is no truth to solipsism. It is a belief like all other ism’s, the activity of thought, which can come to rest in meditatively listening to, or, abiding in, your own abundantly available guidance. This link is added so that you might as the reader, vicariously see and thus not experience the trap of believing there are teachers outside yourself. That you might see the trap of attempting to discern which teacher is ‘right’, and thus project emotional transference onto anyone therein. At the same time though, if that is what relieves, do feel free to fire away. I understand & I truly do not mind. You asked for my two cents, this is it. I am not a teacher. I do not have any teachings. I do not recommend facing beliefs head on, I recommend listening to the only teacher there is, the intuition and emotional guidance of the discord & alignment felt, of that or any belief / activity of thought. I can respect you have never listened to what I’ve offered, and likely are not about to now. The hope here is that you recognize I am not actually saying to listen to me, but to listen to me when I say, listen to your own discord. Therein lies the truth. Aversion. The emotional scale. https://youtube.com/channel/UCe60ditqv4s0H2eVxYJ9q1g ? -
