Death is the assumption of the separate self, the ‘one which is not this love’ and could be ‘reunited’ with this love. There is no ‘perspective of the separate self’. In accordance with direct experience, there is no there, nor is there a separate self which could ‘leave here’ and ‘get there’. There is no center, no lifetimes, no liver of lives, no afterlife. There is no ego or ego which dies. But thinking makes all of this seem so. In silence none of this is so, isn’t it so? There is no ‘you’ from past lives which jumps into a new life, for which enlightenment could take many lives. Enlightenment is precisely the realization of thought attachment / none of this is actual. There is not knowledge ‘lost between lives’, nor ‘knowledge carried from one life to the next’, because all is quite literally ‘made of’ Not Knowingness. The knowing of all of this is the illusion of the knower. An appearance, of Not Knowing, or, if you like, infinite being, which actually is infinite, and thus there is nothing else, nothing to know or which could be known. -

@VeganAwake Amen. ?? All descriptions are reality. ?? But thought attachment makes it seem so. The knower is the known, the describer the described. “It doesn’t matter what I say, as long as I say it with inflection, and make you feel I’ll convey some deeper truth from vast reflection. But I’ve said nothing so far, and I can keep it up for as long as it takes. If I’m doing my job, it’s your resolve that breaks, because the hook brings you back. I ain’t tellin you no lie, on that you can rely”. JP -

Not so. Comes down to direct experience. NPC is an assumption, another way of saying ‘a you’, the implication is ‘you’ are ‘the playable character’. This is not / was not direct experience, this is conjecture. For sure. ?? ? This conflict reveals the ‘experience’ has not been, so to speak, directly experienced. What is realized is there is no everyone, and this is not realized by anyone. This is precisely not “an experience” “identical for everyone”. There is no you. There is no foreground. There is no nothingness. There is no everything. There is no appearance. There is no you. This does not ‘come down to interpretation’. There is no interpretation. “This” is uninterpretable, that is the realization, had by very literally no one. -

Change = experience. Shift from the focus on thoughts about a self, to receiving the guidance of the emotion. You will, and it will rock reality. -

@The White Rabbit @Zeroguy There’s no change, sans less thinking / thought activity / confusion / discord / suffering. No self is not an achievement, nor a concern for a a self. In shifting focus away from believing the thought ‘I got worried’, or ‘I worry’… to the willingness to acknowledge & understand worrying is an emotion, which is felt now or not at all and never in a future… real-time live guidance which is telling you something so to speak, about the thoughts presently focused on in relation to what you want… is received… and inevitably… a great lion roars. -

Why attempt to ‘integrate’ discord, suffering. Let discordant thoughts go. Willingly. Because of, and only because of, how it feels to focus on those thoughts. Focus on anything else. There is no separate self feeling. This is conceptualizing feeling. Thoughts about a separate self which feels. This is not feeling. This is focusing on self referential thoughts, and averting from understanding the emotions. Pathology is one thought. Separate self in one thought. Meditation is the way. Careful not to self referentially think you’re way out of what actually works. (Meditation and understanding the emotions experienced as guidance about the thoughts focused on). Anyone focused on the thoughts you’re focusing on should feel the exact same discord you are experiencing. Anyone shifting to understanding, and thus receiving the emotional guidance will feel alignment. Every one believes theirs is the unique, exceptional story. Meditation lets the story go. It can’t be beat, focus repeats. Can only be let go. Do not be afraid to feel, understand fear is an emotion, which again is guidance. You are infinitely loved. You are infinite love. And that is what is felt (is feeling). -

According to who? Self Inquiry. Assumptions can be inspected and dispelled. Solipsism is delusion. Let it go, focus on anything else which is not discordant. By not believing assumptions, one arrives at the truth. No one else. Just One. That perception can be thought, as in thunk or thought of, is ignorance, and opportunity to inspect actuality. -

That is (as thoughts) the separate self. It’s the ego, the ‘accomplisher’, fruitless attempts to ‘push a cork to float’. Fruitless, as in, the cork floats without the attempts. The attempts are the ‘getting in your own way’. When beginning or returning to meditation it is common to feel a heightened sensitivity, to the ‘old thoughts’ of ‘the separate self’. The ‘one who has concerns’. You are yourself. That there is a separate self which you could or are pushing, are thoughts, and only thoughts. There is no second or separate self. There is no separate self which is lazy or avoidant. These are self referential thoughts, aversion. Spiral dynamics is a concept, being utilized by no one, to guilt trip no one. Were these self referential thoughts not focused upon, there would be no emotional guidance of guilt. The guidance can be ‘listened’ to. The scale can be understood and implemented. By no one. Value is the mind’s gateway into ego, the separate self. No separation, no value(s). The focus upon such discordant thoughts is ego. Ego is not a second or actual entity. There is no need to support it. What does not exist can not in truth be supported or denied. These are thoughts, which repeat, from being fed attention, and ignoring the emotional guidance. This is conjecture. It isn’t known from direct experience, but is a way of thinking which is heard and believed, even thought it feels discordant. There neuroticism is the thoughts / thought activity, which is ‘the separate self’ (just thoughts focused). Meditation (letting these thoughts come & go) is the way. Meditation. Simple. If overwhelming, walking meditation, expressive writing. Shift focus from self referential thoughts, to understanding and acknowledging the emotion experienced. Such as overwhelment. The you in thought loops is not you, and is a thought. Awareness is aware, of these thoughts about a separate self, which do not resonate. Don’t look to tolerate discord (discomfort/anxiety). Let those conceptual labels go, and understand and receive the emotional guidance for your creating. -
@ertopolice Yes. And then thoughts which arise, arise about the direct experience. Feeling is never in a future. If you are not feeling as you’d like to, it’s not future related. There is subtle relief in the acknowledgement of the guidance of guilt, insecurity, and or unworthiness. Expressing, the admittance, is a ‘getting it off of the shoulders’, a putting down of the weight. Albeit subtle, there is more clarity.

@RMQualtrough Assumptions can be inspected, doubt isn’t beneficial, and there is only something in front of the eyes for the separate self. As in, these are thoughts. ? -
Nahm replied to RMQualtrough's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
There are two which could be unified. That’s also an assumption. There is no such direct experience of what everyone knows, nor even of what a you knows. Non-existence is a thought with no actuality, like unicorn. Nothing is not experience or an experience. Bring to mind the thought of a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, and notice there is no taste, only the thought. Then imagine upon tasting it, it is revealed there is no Starbucks, no latte, no taste. Only ‘the separate self’ (thoughts) claim nothing can be experienced. The mind can not go where it has not been. The separate self ‘hides’ in the claiming of experience, my, mine, etc. -

Enlightenment is cessation. -
Both. If you want. Also, don’t have to buy investments like companies, houses, etc with cash. With ample income verification the bank will instantly manifest the money for you. The “bank”, so to speak. Flipping the house(s) you live in is another easier way to make money to invest into more. Be sure to check into any state, city, fed programs which reduce and reimburse with respect to purchasing houses. Especially if you’re a first time home buyer.

Discern thoughts about direct experience, from direct experience. Notice it isn’t technically any of what you say you fear, which is the emotion of fear, because you haven’t experienced it. It is how those thoughts feel, which is the guidance of emotion. Be willing to experience it (step 1), then if you like think about it (step 2).

@Terell Kirby It does though. Nondual confusion is an oxymoron. The ‘one’ ‘who’ believes someone is calling that ‘one’ anything is the ego. -

SELF INQUIRY This is a meditation technique of enlightenment, i.e. "self realization". By realizing ‘who’ you are, the bonds of suffering are broken. Besides realization, self-inquiry delivers many of the same benefits as other meditation techniques, such as relaxation, enhanced experience of life, greater openness to change, greater creativity, a sense of joy and fulfillment, and so forth. Focus on the feeling of being "me," to the exclusion of all arising thoughts. 1. Sit in any comfortable meditation posture. 2. Allow your mind and body to settle. 3. Let go of any thinking whatsoever. 4. Place your attention on the inner feeling of being "me." 5. If a thought does arise, ask yourself to whom this thought is occurring, as this returns your attention to the feeling of being "me." Continue this for as long as you like. This technique can also be done when going about any other activity. Many people misunderstand the self-inquiry technique to mean that the person should sit and ask themselves the question, "Who am I?" over and over. This is an incorrect understanding of the technique. The questions "Who am I" or "To whom is this thought occurring?" are only used when a thought arises, in order to direct attention back to the feeling of being "me." At other times the mind is held in silence. This practice of turning awareness back upon itself, prior to the ‘I’-thought, is a gentle technique, which bypasses the usual repressive methods of controlling the mind. It is not an exercise in concentration, nor does it aim at suppressing thoughts; it merely invokes awareness of the source from which the mind springs. The method and goal of self-enquiry is to abide in the source of the mind and to be aware of what one really is by withdrawing attention and interest from what one is not. In the early stages effort in the form of redirecting attention from the thoughts to the ‘thinker’ is essential, but once awareness of the ‘I’-feeling has been firmly established, further effort is counter-productive. From then on it is more a process of being than doing, of effortless being rather than an effort to be. https://www.actualityofbeing.com/self-inquiry -

@Terell Kirby The ‘claimant’ of (these) states is the ego. The ‘one’ asking is ego. The ‘one’ who wants to be sure is ego. -
@Felli Spend your energy & time on income and move out. Let dad be with his thoughts, emotions and ideally a psychoanalyst. Tend to your well being. You can’t suffer enough or give him enough attention for him to tend to his well being. You can exemplify anytime though.

Nothing is laying dormant, there is no anxiety, there are no states, there is no self bias, there are no doomed spirals. These are write offs, cover ups. Notice the shift in focus from that self referential thinking (thoughts about a separate self having all of those)… to focusing on what you want, and notice the difference in how that feels. (Better) The suffering is / are those subtle thoughts about being a separate self. The relief in focusing on wanted feels better, because it is aligned with the fact that you are the creator of your reality. Not the one the thoughts are about, but the awareness, you. The One aware of the thoughts. Notice also the thoughts which are the justification of there being a separate self, and begin to recognize that is how the suffering and seeming lack of focus are created. That is what the ‘doomer spirals’ are. (“Something is laying dormant / subconscious… anxiety… states… bias… doomed spirals… parts of me”). Notice those thoughts are devisive, separative & therein intrinsically manipulative. Instead, acknowledge, feel, honor, understand, and receive the guidance of the emotion experienced. Focus on what you want feels good and is not a distraction. It’s conscious creating. The self referential thoughts are distractive and discordant. Ignorance of emotions is not existential dread, it’s just innocent ignore-ance of understanding emotional guidance. That’s aversion, or, existential conceptual rumination about ‘the separate self’ / suffering as a means of not feeling and understanding emotion. Intuition goes through the roof in the sweetest way inevitably… with daily meditation, and respecting & understanding the guidance. It’s connective, inclusive, honest, sincere.
