Another perspective is that it is Happiness which is ‘doing’ anything. “Agreeing to disagree” is fine, of course...but...you’re saying what you are looking for is not the case right now. Such a thought / perspective can be “inspected”, saving all kinds of “work” & “effort”. Similar to “the sense of lack only dissolves when I’m resting in my true nature”. You’re defining your true nature, and then looking for it outside your own definition. I hope there’s no offense taken. I acknowledge this might be a “radical” perspective.

Great realization, want vs need. I’d keep going deeper with that inspection. Rupert doesn’t need to talk / teach / help, it’s a want. Nobody needs to take psychedelics, it’s a want. You don’t need a teacher, or to listen to teacher videos, it’s a want. This points at The Good News, The Gospel, The Truth. I suspect you are seeing this too. @fridjonk You sir are a delight! @LfcCharlie4 For God sakes already my man it’s a want! Imagine me saying, every time you type a single word - You’re Seeking!!!!! It’s the same for psychedelics. It does not equate to “seeking”. There’s no such thing as “seeking”!!

You don’t offend people, you don’t use pictures of yourself to antagonize people, you aren’t making ‘shoot from the hip’ comments and then deleting or hiding them, you don’t single anyone out and make obnoxious videos to send them. Why not? Simply because of how it feels. Simply because of The Truth. No more, no less. But....what if you were in the forgetting stage, and not the re-membered stage? Well then you’d be doing all kinds of stuff that doesn’t feel good to you. But you’d know, by feeling, precisely what you’re doing. You’d be all to aware the other shoe does indeed inevitably fall. Which again, is why you are not doing these things. Still struggling as to why someone else, is? Compassion & understanding a good feeling enough “answer”?

There’s some things I’d take into consideration, in the vein of helpfulness and identifying the pitfalls... You’re assigning this to me, but we didn’t have a chance to talk last week. If you own that, relief ensues inevitably. There are things I am explaining & recommending, diet, practices, transcending current paradigms & paradox, sitting with it / expressing / understanding rather than name calling (next day “Ban this clown”). Not trying to ‘beat up on ya’ so I’ll stop there, but overall, all that’s needed is to be attentive to what is so for not attentive to. The last thing that helps anyone on the path, is to start building a case about how anything has anything to do with anyone but myself.

The feeling’s perhaps not about nihilism & meaninglessness, but maybe togetherness, and the comfort zone work might be bringing up & clearing out some beliefs. Thought tends to hijack feeling with a thought story diversion. What’s going on about togetherness can get repackaged in thought as about ‘oneness’ or as about source if you will. If seen as about this thought content, rather than the feeling, we end up with nihilism. Insight is a new to you thought now, and therefore not a memory. Feeling is present here now, not in a memory. Maybe read your Vipassana notes again, impartially. Like, ‘this is all thoughts’, ‘nothing true or false here per se’, nothing to be found here. Experience those thoughts as thoughts, rather than the content. Let feeling & the body lead. How do you feel, when reading / seeing them as just thought? Have you looked at these ? The ”memory/past is a dream” thinking might be an attempt to hold on to the past...whereas insight, and the ‘experience’ you’re looking for, is this now - clear of thoughts of the past. It is this very same now, in the literal sense. If you look around, you’ll see there’s no past, and more deeply notice it’s the content of an appearing, and disappearing, thought. @VeganAwake Didn’t have a chance to reply before you closed your other thread, and didn’t want you to be left with that misunderstanding, so here’s what I was posting... Heck no. That was genuinely to him. In all honesty it didn’t occur to me that it would be taken in any way by anyone else. What he said here & also on an old thread Mandy recently reposted, left me with a feeling he might know what I’m talking about, or might soon. The kid blowing bubbles was a meta reference to Godhead / the spheres, and innocence. (I know it’s not of interest, just explaining the comment.) Imo the content you add is high quality & appreciated, and the comment had nothing to do with a teaching, or Tony Parsons.
