  1. @IAmAtomical When you try to discipline, who or what are you disciplining?
  2. You got it, that it’s an illusion. The you that can’t get it is the illusion. The ‘separate self’ of thoughts, time, etc. Nothing actually happens.
  3. @IAmAtomical When you experience what you call that ‘trouble’, which emotion does it most feel like?
  4. Is this an accurate summation…. Why do I experience thoughts about harming others, when I know I won’t, and don’t actually want to harm anyone?
  5. Can you elaborate on that? Referencing this might be very helpful in expressing that trouble.
  6. Never having been born doesn’t equate to nonexistence.
  7. A belief is a thought assumed to be true. There is believing or not, the thoughts. Thoughts can be believed such that it is believed you are an object, a ‘separate self’, and that there is a universe that you, rooms, and elephants are in.
  8. Question why you argue at all, with anyone. ‘What is it I really want out of this activity’? Question why you’re meditating, ‘what is it I really want out of this activity’? Feel the dots connect. One in the same. ?
  9. Wise article. Sums up the mentality pretty accurately. RIP. Shame to lose such a talented mind to relious conjecture, emotional suppression, and collective shame. Imo, a rare categorical ‘throw the bath water and the baby out’ and start over in alignment opportunity for any willing to learn from his life. My heart goes out to those effected. “They promote coercive, deceptive and manipulative techniques, as well as pseudoscience of the female mind and behavior. As such, the pick-up community has drawn accusations of encouraging misogyny, harassment, emotional abuse, and sexual assault.” For anyone interested,
  10. The spheres (thoughts about) are just like the rumination and the unicorn. To equate what is actual with delusion does not stand to clarify or bring about any understanding. It only misleads via thought attachment, followed by second and third person hearsay of conjecture, aiding in spreading it more deeply and broadly. To recognize anything in experiential terms, it is helpful to label yet not per se to believe the label is indicative of any individual. In that sense spiritual ego is spiritual ego. Misleading is misleading. Conjecture is conjecture. Thought attachment is thought attachment, and regardless of any arising thought, it will remain actual, and what is actual can always be denied. ‘Bubble(s)’ is inherently solipsistic spiritual ego, which is the result of thought attachment, and in the greater sense, identity. Words are utilized for pointing, and words have definitions. In the (identity-less) parallel sense, these definitions are utilized in an agreed upon fashion. Spiritual ego, the ‘devilry’ therein, can not utilize words in this agreed upon, parallel, defined manor, and must essentially conceptualize, contextualize, and twice over recontextualize, to make it, ‘it’s own’. Bubble, by definition is not sphere, by definition. “… and now here’s the weather”.
  11. There is no actuality of nonexistence. Unicorns not existing isn’t a belief. Thoughts will not do, as there can be thoughts of what does and doesn’t exist. The point, what stands to be acknowledged, is the duality of thoughts, and the believing the thoughts, is not the path to truth, but is rumination. Change occurs in putting how you feel, well above what you think or believe. In regard to the truth, it is the same. One puts the path to the truth well above what one thinks & believes. But if you want to be heard, be heard. If you want to be understood, be understood. If you want to believe there are others, believe there are others. There is a season for everything. If interested in other than rumination, this video could be a very helpful pointing. If it’s too long, consider skipping to the two cartoonish illustrations.
  12. The headache is kinda the teacher here. One doesn’t have to be calm all the time, to not argue. Allow everyone to think whatever they want, and you’re inherently allowing this for yourself, and then there’s no headache. Analogously, ‘I don’t like how my stomach feels’… ‘I’m not going to eat that again’.
  13. Yes, totally. No, impossible. (Why take someone’s word over checking direct experience?) Aligned posture is not distractive, the body does it all on it’s own. The narrative of thought(s) is the distraction, given the traction is simply, gently, effortlessly, returning attention to feeling breathing from the stomach. To use an expression journal and write about the emotions you are experiencing, and be lovingly humbled with clarity in the willful recognition of aversion from spending some time doing so. To a large extent, allow the simple practical answer of ‘just sit up straight’ to suffice. Notice all else is aversion, and do not be judgemental of aversion, be insightful, by inspecting with more acuity what is actual, what you are actually experiencing. Notice self referential thoughts. Acknowledge meditation is the letting go of this habit, and acknowledge it is the habit which is the matrix. If any anger, blame, jealousy or hate arises, express it, don’t judge it. Express it at me if you want to, but try not to judge me / make it about me. So to speak, keep your eye on the bigger picture by recognizing aversion. Allow meditation to ‘wash yourself of yourself’, to free you from the matrix of the duality of thoughts. Order tissue by the case, ahead of time. Let go mentally, emotionally, and physiologically. Meditation is the break from thoughts, the great relief. Truly, appreciate that one minute of meditation feels better than a lifetime of thinking about meditation, and gathering more thoughts about it. Also, be resourceful rather than resourcing resourcefulness. Let striving for perfection go. When it is humbly acknowledge this striving is only the activity of thought, the orientation has changed toward the real perfection, which can not be thought regardless of any posture. Rumination, self referential thinking and conceptualizing are exhausting. The thought narrative of a separate self which makes conscious efforts, is exhausting. Allow simplicity. Allow resourcefulness. Allow utilization of tools in directly using them, vs thinking about. https://www.actualityofbeing.com/basic-meditation-posture-balance-relaxation-body-scan https://www.actualityofbeing.com/expressive-journaling https://www.actualityofbeing.com/the-emotional-scale This advice is likely not what you’re expecting. Neither is meditation. ?
  14. Can be ‘found out’, directly experienced, but not thunk. That is the veil. Meditation. (Non-thinking). Allow the activity of thought to rest, and thought (assumptions) aren’t so readily believed. Assumption also tends to cease when willfully acknowledged. ‘Bubbles of others’ is a belief, assumption. It’s as if you are saying ‘Leo denies unicorns’. An alternative to projecting assumption is inspecting beliefs.
  15. “Why Consciousness is One and can NOT be TWO?” Consciousness is one and can be two.
  16. But if you accepted it then they aren’t having any effect on you. Boundary … of acceptance? It’s not uncommon to get some motivation in the energetic sense form these ‘affects others have on us’ and direct that energy into our drive and ambition. It can help fuel ‘changing my life’ or ‘changing the world’. Often, later, there is a discordant feeling in said situations with others which wasn’t noticed or thought much about before. As a reference, one of the worst things a spouse can endure is stilling being mad about an argument, and noticing the other isn’t at all.
  17. Desire & phenomena are phenomena in the sense they are thoughts.
  18. Perhaps you’re taking a look at what fear actually is, and some dots are connecting as to when you first created it, as a means of seeing through it.
  19. Lovely. ?? And so simply and eloquently said.
  20. ‘Burning through your desires’ is a conceptualization which actually, innocently & unknowingly, supports and perpetuates the aversion and suffering therein by the ego hijacking karma via recontextualizing it in place of addressing conditioning, and utilizing it manipulatively as the very justification to short term gratification, satisfying impulses with worldly pleasures, perpetuating self objectification, or the separate self, or in the this case of conjecture, a spiritual ego. In short, as it is conceptual and not based on direct experience it doesn’t work. Seems to at first, (who loves worldly pleasures) until one realizes they’ve only dug a deeper hole into thought attatchment and the suffering of bodymind identification. (The mind cannot serve two masters). ?? The attachment is to thoughts, and the reactionary uninspected, un-sat-through, unconscious patterns therein, which are playing out in behaviors and actions. What you’re aiming to do is actually suppressing with more intensity as a means of control, which is counter to manifestation. The orientation (imo) is actually at odds which source, vs in alignment with. It always just amounts to opinions, but I suggest feeling the impulses, and meditatively breathing and relaxing, inspecting directly into what the sensation is, ‘remaining in’ perception & feeling, not getting ‘caught up’ on thought narratives, to see that the impulses in fact come & go, and that the intensity diminishes as you do (‘sit through it’). This will free the finite mind of pattern driven (egoic as well as maniacal) behaviors, and indeed, manifestation will be effortless. Already is in truth, but it is this said thought attachment which obscures or veils truth. Having said all that, if that is what you want, Godspeed with it! ??
  21. @StarStruck I was too one sided in my responses to you on this thread, sorry about that. This morning I was reminded jut how sleepy some, many, probably most therapists are.
  22. Dependent origination is of no importance, and certainly isn’t advanced, and isn’t a / the teaching, that’s a fundamental misnomer. The teaching points. Mistaking this, dependent origination is believed to have importance and be advanced, but this is projection from the assumption, misunderstanding. That leads to the belief there is experience, a meditator & a meditator’s states, objectification, and solidifies thought attachment in regard to a material or relative reality. Cessation is actually to the contrary, as that is really the perpetuation of suffering. A mental ‘emperor’s new clothes’ situation, which is fundamentally aversion from the message of the very teaching. A reframing might be clarifying. Consider, dependent origination = cessation. Different terms, same pointing. In comparison, solipsism is an ideology of the ‘separate self’. You might say solipsism is the opposite of cessation. As in, the practice is discarded as the spiritual ego or ‘knower’ arose. Cessation, dependent origination, as a pointing to, is the absence of these ideas, identity, etc, and is not anything derived from any ideas.
  23. @Consept Could kinda just stop and question, why do I want them to be different. You might surprisingly find you actually don’t, and that realization actually creates the change desired, but respectfully, that’s not really my business. Sometimes, ambition includes suppression, and one kicks ass, and later revisits.
