Nahm replied to RedLine's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@RedLine I can recall reacting to thoughts behaviorally which didn’t feel good. I might have believed it was ‘just how I am’, or personality. I might have believed it was ‘just how it is’, or circumstances. I might have also believed people who didn’t see things my way were just being rhetorical & avoiding my point. I might have even told people who saw things differently than me that they were being dishonest, childish & narcissistic. But I got tired of the stress, tension, frustration, anxiety, depression, etc. I chose to be aware of the thoughts & reactions, to feel it, and not buy into it, not react. Upon slowing down and inspecting, it turned out it was not my personality or circumstances. It was just attachment to thoughts which didn’t resonate, with goodness. -
@Loving Radiance Of course formless can be anything because formless.

@RedLine It seems you believe ‘your’ ‘problem’ is ‘out here’ and ‘everyone has it’ and Nahm is ‘avoiding it’. As far as I can see there isn’t actually that problem. -
@Farnaby Can formless be vulnerable?

You. It’s still be your relative concept of someone else saying something. It’d still be your implication. This is like receiving Morris code, and rather than slowing down and decoding the message, saying “Morris code”, “Morris code”, “Morris code” over & over, and believing the message was understood & received. Good can’t define good & bad, it has only Good to work with. This is like making a car & a house out of legos, and believing there are legos, cars and houses. (There’s actually still just legos). Good can believe appearances are actual (thoughts) and believe there is then, good & bad. To thoroughly convince itself, it must hold belief it is not itself. To believe it is not itself, requires actively believing it is something else. In the believing of itself to be other than itself, by default ‘the world’ seems other than itself as well. An example of said identity belief is “I am an INPT...my passions...”. From that belief / narration, Truth is something separate, and thus something the a priori ‘you’ looks for. The next belief is that the “you”...operates, or functions (is looking). That belief justifies, or masks the prior belief that the ‘you’ & the world are separate. This doesn’t resonate, but rather than inward inspection, outward projection again masks... “You...this & that....the greatest masters....this & that...they....this & that”. (“Morris code”, “Morris code”, “Morris code”.) This is an interpretation being projected in the same manor. An outward movement faster than is recognized, and thus believed. Meditation slows this down, and it is seen. This is another interpretation & projection. Jesus didn’t say he sacrificed himself. He was crucified for speaking the Truth (so to speak), like you are doing to Leo. -

It’s a loop perpetuated by misinterpreting self doubt as a feeling. -
@Yarco Panties with the actualized logo and instructions printed on them...?

Yes, of course. Does that make you X?

If there is a problem and a present moment, there is self deception, the deception is there is a self experiencing. Self deception is not stoppable. Introspection reveals the perpetual creating of the deception, or, thought attachment.

Infinite can not know finite.

When it is realized we react emotionally to thoughts, and instead we take pause, we are emotionally present in spirit you might say. Available, not hiding behind the armor. This brings depth to the experience of the relationship or interaction. ‘Vulnerable’ would be swinging the pendulum a bit to far. It’s actually opposite. True power, unfettered freedom of expression of the true nature.

@Frenk “States” is a dualistic thought. This state, and that state. ‘Put a state in each hand’ and compare them. Notice, there’s nothing there. Now notice it’s exactly the same for ‘the thought’. There’s is only the apparent, or, illusion of, a comparison. Such is ‘good & bad’, and preferences of. Notice the ‘trap’ of believing the thought that a you is comparing good, bad, preferable, and ordinary states. Notice the actuality, these are thoughts appearing and disappearing, being believed (if so), keeping a narrative going that this is ‘the ordinary state’, or, ‘the mystical state’, or, ‘the low or high consciousness state’, etc, etc. -
@JayG84 No. ‘Your phone’ is absolutely infinite being. There is no such things as a screen, language, or words. This is literally infinite being, appearing as, thought to be, a “consistent physical reality”. The nature of infinity has nothing to do with numbers, math, or any thinking at all. Thinking is illusory. You can break your phone down to the thought “phone”, thoughtless perception, and the feeling or sensation of it ‘in your hand’. The thought ‘phone’ is a sound, a vibration, mistaken to be a ‘word’ & ‘meaning’ that was learned and is reapplied when the sound (‘word’) ‘phone’ is heard, via the illusion of self & memory. The thought ‘phone’ is pure magic, appearing from nowhere and disappearing into nothingness, just like ‘perception’ is a vibration, a ‘word’, learned & meaning reapplied, which in actuality appears from nowhere and disappears into nothingness as well. There is no such things as words or perception. Even the experience of the sensation of the touching of the phone is that of electricity, ‘electrons’, ‘fields’, vibration, and never actually a ‘skin’ touching a ‘plastic’. There is, in the most literal sense, nothing. And there is not.

Unmistakable, unthinkable, unbelievable, unimaginable, un-experiencable, and astoundingly intimately ineffable. “Consciousness”, “awake”, “Truth”, “states”, “levels”, “degrees”, as well as “relativity” lose all apparent meaning. That ‘huge breakthrough’ is the ‘direct experience of infinity’ but it is not a ‘breakthrough’ a you surpasses, nor is it direct, an experience, or infinity. -

Take five minutes, five times a day just for you, to... - Relax. Breathe. Recognize the fact that you don’t know what anyone else is thinking. This is freedom from some overthinking, which equals more relaxation, clarity, concentration and focus. Embrace the truth that there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, just humans with preferences and opinions, none more or less valuable than yours. All parallel. All bs. Recognize any inner monologue of ‘rights & wrongs’, and judgment of yourself and or others, and recognize you want to feel better, and you want everyone else to feel great too. Just ‘in your inner world’, wish yourself well, and anyone & everyone else too. It’s powerful, and foundational to the change you desire. Understand that when you believe you do know what people think, it is a signal to you, that you are orienting away from feeling, and the mind is weaving a narrative to justify it. (“It’s because of what someone else is thinking”, “it’s because I might lose the erection”, etc). You can’t fall for the mind’s story. It will weave them forever. You might say, it believes it is protecting you, protecting you from getting hurt. It’s absolutely innocent, so no ‘beating up on yourself’. (That’d just be more narrative). If you’re thirsty, you go to the fridge. If you want to feel better, you go to feeling. Think in simple terms like that about feeling. Recognize that what you want is to feel better in such situations. ‘Go to’ feeling, rediscover feeling - without narratives. After reflecting on those perspectives, take a deep belly breath, let any tension go letting your entire body relax viscerally, deeply, feel the relaxation. Let. Go. Completely. Weightlessness. To the bones relaxation. As if there were ten bodies within each other within you, and they all just let go completely for the first time ever, and feeling abounds as a result. Keep relaxing, even more deeply, and remain aware of: breathing, feeling, seeing, hearing. Pick one or two of those the first couple of days, then work you’re way to maintaining a relaxed body and awareness of all four. Then all four as one whole. Then feeling, body, breathing, seeing, hearing, all as one inseparable seamless whole. Slowing the reaction down like this, you’ll see much more of what’s going on. After a while, there won’t be the reaction. It will be clearly seen at a point, that the fear was of fear (a ‘thought loop’). - “The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself”. JFK The misinterpretation of fear is that it is a feeling. It is not, it is of the mind. Of interpretation. When you take that time, that five minutes for yourself, be mindful that you are taking time for yourself. Feel good about caring about how you feel. I think after just a few days you’ll feel more relaxed, and your vantage point, or, self understanding will change and some insights and releases will arise. Writing about how you feel now, as in, while you’re writing, is powerful. It helps in remaining present, and aware of feeling... and understanding arises. I would set five reminders on your phone / calendar, and commit to the five minutes five times a day. If there is resistance, or reluctance, remind yourself it’s only five minutes. It will be worth it. Also be mindful it is a proactive approach, and that it is cumulative. Each five minutes adds up, a momentum builds. Believe in second chances for yourself. And third chances. And fourth chances even. Actually, just notice when you beat up on yourself, and do those steps (above). This way, if this happens again, even if you ‘blow it’...five minutes later, in the divine grace of inner peace and clarity, it will occur to you to just laugh at your silly self, and have some great sex. And make a dreamboard.

Closed mindedness, an un-emptied cup / no ‘space’ realized ‘between’ awareness & thoughts prior to the trips. Improper foundation, diet, and or mental & emotional relationship with the body, and where one is ‘at’ in their life, and or lack of self-understanding. Unresolved relationships and or trauma(s), and unrecognized personal desire (in the ego hijacking sense) for the experience & ‘benefits’, as compared to genuinely wanting to know the truth at any cost. Mind ‘always wins’, because reality is made of mind. (Truth is actual reality, ‘consciousness’, so to speak, as compared to the “reality” it’s appearing as.)

@Frenk Have you seen this movie? Recommendation wise, it’s a very mixed bag, but I think there could be benefit to watching it.

@WonderSeeker As in....convincing is kind of a lost cause, but pointing out foundational assumption (nicely) might be met with curiosity, inquiry & inspection. -

That supports the backward paradigm you’ve got going. That of high states of awareness & the separate self who can reach it. That movement of mind is a story that there is an ‘it’ which is not already you. It keeps ‘you’ climbing a mountain so to speak. It perpetuates beliefs such as you’re lacking, have shortcomings, aren’t good enough already, via false comparison. It seems a comparison was made, in believing the thought that there was, but there wasn’t. It’s a seemingly repetitive veil. It keeps the suffering ‘alive’ until ‘you’ get so disgusted with it, that a new recognition arises, of letting go, surrendering, no longer playing the game of mountain climber, the “orderer”. “Judgement day” is not a day you’ll be judged, but the day you surrender such judgement, of yourSelf. There is already not a separate self. Just thought attachment to a narrative of ‘me’ (monkey mind). That is what is let go. ‘You’ didn’t experience ‘it’. That’s self-recontextualization. This is heaven. -

Meditation’s wonderful. Letting the story go is even better. Insight arises in the empty cup, reality becomes the story. -
When the activity of mind is brought to rest, there is an eternal deafening silence heard by no one. Until, there is still the “me”, the activity of nothing, the game, the “illusion” of yourself. Consciousness veils itself being mind, but infinite can never know finite.
