Your parents. Coping is in a way, masking & compensating for your suffering. Don’t cope, feel the suffering. When you go that route, changing the way you’re looking at the situation is inevitable. If you don’t, you’re doing the same thing they’re doing. Do they have an example of someone not coping, not suffering? What if they did? At least they’d have an example, at least they’d be aware it’s possible. This example / analogy just came up on a session and seems applicable... what if your parents were cutting their hands with knives? Do you think there is anything you could say, which would somehow be more convincing, than the pain they are feeling? Maybe what you really want, is for them to listen to their suffering, to not continue coping. If so, to not be hypocritical, that means you gotta do that. If you don’t cope, and just feel that burn... you’re gonna notice that burn is related to certain thoughts & perspectives, which are not resonating with the true nature. It’s likely you’ll then proceed to do all kinds of things to change how you feel, your consciousness, your state, your level, etc. When none of that works, you’ll change your perspective. We are on the path with the first breath of life, long before we can walk. It’s not a choice. Listening to the suffering or not, is the choice.

@fopylo You want them to feel better, but why would they listen to you? You sound miserable.
-
@fopylo No. It’s one option.

@Eren Eeager When you state it as it is, ‘my suffering’ (not ego, God, etc) then you’re positioned to focus on what feels good to you. You’re not focusing for ‘an ego’ or ‘a God’, just you. Then none of the assumptions, rationalizing, justifying, etc, arise. -
@Vido Very nice.

It’s just thought attachment. Meditation is usually recommended. Doesn’t have anything to do with experiences, sans the experience of thought attachment. -

@Eren Eeager Think about anything else. Literally, anything that feels good to you. Poof. No more suffering. -
There is actually. It’s understanding the emotions you’re creating & experiencing. Some of the thoughts are aligned with the true nature, and some are not, and you feel this. If you justify thoughts & perspectives which are in discord with the true nature, what you’re justifying is the continuation of the discord. Re-acting is acting the same as you have been, experiencing the same emotions over and over, by holding the same beliefs about yourself. Thinking about good & evil and God when you’re suffering emotionally, is like sitting in lava philosophizing about Jupiter.

You’ve moved expressively from jealousy, but stopped at blame. Keep moving up the scale. Jealousy doesn’t produce anxiety. It’s relieving, better feeling, than unworthiness and powerlessness. Go up the scale as you expression each emotion, not down. It’s blame...express that this blaming leaves you worrying and doubting, and continue up the scale. Maybe they feel their thoughts and you’re feeling yours.

@fopylo One option is to change how you’re thinking.

@GreenLight Focusing on what you hate makes sense huh? Ok. -

Begin to recognize what self referential thinking is. Thoughts aren’t about you, they just seem like it out of habit. If it was a bunch of thinking about a tree, at least you could point to what you’re talking about. Self Inquiry instead. -

@GreenLight Maybe a simpler way to see... you care about God. You made a thread about it. -
@Anastas Sia You’re awesome. Seriously. You’re a really great person. You have a great life, and it’s only going to get greater and greater and greater.

The evidence of how free you are, is the asking if you are free to want what you don’t want. That is focusing on what you don’t want, which you are free to do. -
@Skanderb What do you really want?

And how are they? -
@Kshantivadin I think you’re very confused and calling the emotions you’re experiencing anything & everything other than, the emotions you’re experiencing. That leads to trying to “solve” that “problem” with purpose, substances, other states, self image, etc. It’s far easier and perfectly lasting to just understand emotions and how you’re creating them. Apply that to the thoughts. Thoughts like that. Definitely start letting go of what you think you know.
-
That’s your belief. Keep inspecting and understanding emotions to better understand yourself and them.

It’s a steeping stone, as you said. It’s perfectly aligned, revealing clarity.

There isn’t a society that has plans for you. Careful thinking that way, as that is your outlook & perspective. If it feels off, consider that is the discord which is draining of energy, and for so long as the resistant perspective is believed, your time. Same factor. The “obligations” are your perspective, not someone else’s. If they are someone else, it’s still up to you to agree or not. That is already the case. It’s what you’re already doing. Allow yourself the great feeling of recognizing this, that great feeling can ‘move the mountains’ of your life. Focus has no price. Focusing on what you want feels very, very different than focusing on what you need. You’re already free to go “all in” with focus on what you want. More insights arise around it, since thoughts attract in kind (similarly). That is already happening, and will never happen in a future. What is, as in ‘where you’re at’ is fine, what will be, as in what you’re focused on, is also fine. They are really one in the same. Make two lists, what you do want and what you don’t want. Which you want more will surface. Don’t work against yourself with conditional happiness. Put how you feel first. That means focusing on thoughts which resonate & inspire. Everything you want to experience arises of that.

@Mason Riggle Who says? -
Nahm replied to GreenLight's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Ultimately, the freedom is that there is no one to answer. -
Nahm replied to GreenLight's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@mandyjw Do that, you already have free will. Notice, you are free to want what you want, and free to express it. Just keep focusing in that same direction you already are. Create the life you desire to experience, financially, relationships, hobbies, interests, etc. You’ll feel great, that great feeling is God. You probably don’t realize this, but many people use spirituality as a way of avoiding the challenges and difficulties of life. Not you. You’re expressing about it, inspecting this, looking directly. That’s what everyone wants to do but is afraid of. You’re going to be very successful. People are going to want to know your ‘secret’. -

@Godishere So to speak of course, I awoke and then became interested in psychedelic experiences.
