  1. Follow anyone who you want to be like
  2. I'd assume that most of the time you're better off going with what you think too. If you have no idea, just use general models like spiral dynamics. Someone very awake might answer something simple and not spiritual. Learn yourself and you automatically learn others too to a high enough degree for this question. If you're looking to date, just choose someone you like being around, but of course recognize that there can be many reasons for that. Regardless, you'll probably learn a bunch with that person.
  3. Even if you don't know why, it's very safe to say iq isn't everything. You can still be smart and be very good at what you do
  4. If you look like shit, then yes you might need an even better personality, but hopefully you're going for that anyway. Personality will get you the stuff you want in the end, don't worry
  5. See what kind of stuff motivates your depression too. Sometimes we cannot only look at what motivates us for better, but what's motivating us in general
  6. He has said paranormal stuff to be there very clearly. When it comes to thoughts manifesting circumstances, yes. But I also want to point you to pay attention to how your body feels. If you stay in clouds, the manifestations won't be very fulfilling.
  7. People can get quite discouraged and stuff like that by the army. They become used to just following orders all day and not looking into stuff themselves too much. Of course there are examples of the opposite too but, still. And people also learn to be kind of blunt and rock faced there, to repress their emotions. There can be a "well nothing to do about it.." attitude for many after the army
  8. Suomesta kans. I didn't like military service at all and it definitely wasn't the choice for me, so I'd choose community service any day. Even if military shows you a few things, it's not that much in the end if you understand to challenge yourself in life. Of course anyone learns about life when they spend 6 months in agony, but you're also left with very bad emotional habits. You could learn plenty outside of it too. When it comes to learning to not judge, it's not like you always have any time to process those things there. Pretty much everyone is negatively affected by being shouted at and told to suppress their emotions for 6-12 months. Very often you are not allowed to enjoy what you're doing there.
  9. What the ego wants to do is hold on to the fear. So "you" are afraid of giving up the fear, as is completely normal. Ego says "Oh I am so afraid" yet hods onto fear, as it is the mechanism for its survival. Now I'd think that when you become enlightened, you will have deeper meaning come behind you. You don't know what this feels like, because you haven't experienced it. This does not necessarily make "you" feel more safe, but if indeed it might be an illusory self, at some point it might turn out to not be an issue at all. You don't have to keep using the same kind of thinking after moving higher up Overall, you don't have to go at this as a "I need to get rid of all fears right now". Taking it a bit slower will bring you more peace You still have a bit of ego, a bit of ignorance and all that. You still have a desire for bettering yourself and others, even if it comes from a different source approach. I hope I'm not giving too many ideas of how what enlightenment is, but see what I say as clues for seeing that you don't really know what's gonna come. You don't have to know it all. You can try things and see how they turn out. A lot of spiritual learning is done when you're halfway there. You don't know what will happen beforehand, you just have clues that it's a good idea and then you find out how it goes when you're already there.
  10. This might even sound scary, but what if you could become aware enough to discover how being powerful and safe are created. Having the awareness to see what they are very clearly and then being also able to see how to go about making those things happen for you. With superpowers in real life, you generally aren't just randomly given a skill. You have to at least to a degree how it works to possess it. This is how awareness can lead you there. So would you like the awareness for making your life amazing and having even some fancy tricks compared to having one really fancy trick and remaining ignorant and suffering every second
  11. Enlightenment is not the end all be all in terms of progress. With mind you can go even deeper. There is a difference between someone who has been enlightened and no mind for 1 year and between enlightened and no mind and still practicing for 20 years, as you might guess
  12. You might dissociate with body, giving up it's control, for several reasons
  13. You can find endless arguments for both. Ridiculous to assume one would be "right"
  14. Maybe it would make you happier, at that moment. Will it be the end all be all, the ultimately fulfilling realization? It won't, it doesn't have to be. So friends and all, they can make you happy to a degree. We are human after all and have habits built into us to avoid loneliness. After some time however, you start to see how happiness can come from within too and the rush of joy that friends bring will not be something you need as much. So when it comes to the question of this, Leo for example this here:
  15. For being less obsessive, more spontaneous. When you make any goals you have all the time. When you follow those goals you have. When it happens, try to let go of them instead! Become aware of them, but see if they are actually any good for being more open. This way you will be more spontaneous, less obsessive. Being extroverted, it might become less of "I need friends to distract myself from what's within!" or "I was told being successful means having friends right now!" and it might become more, "I'm comfortable with myself, if things go well socially, that's great!" If you feel misunderstood, opening yourself up to yourself, seeing how you are, will make it easier to communicate that to others. When it is difficult or others do not want to hear it, you will understand them easier too. You can know the world from within.
  16. Spirituality makes you a lot more aware of the physical plane. Are there certain things and phases in spirituality and meditation and all kinds of things that make you pay less attention to it? Surely so Detachment should make you see something more clearly. There is a difference between dissociation and detachment.
  17. The absolute is the absolute. If what you're thinking of can have something outside of it, it's not the absolute. What is outside of this universe kind of depends on what you mean by it. Perhaps another different universe
  18. The way to have power over it is acknowledging it, learning about it, being curious towards it. This way you will be able to see it clarity and choose what to do about it
  19. I see a bit of curiosity, some hardness, but warmth too. Many things really
  20. Sadhguru says "when you realize that you are mortal you will turn spiritual"
  21. Only by becoming aware of fears and consciously saying no to them you can have them disappear.
  22. Only conscious saying no to fear can make it end. Not admitting fear, not admitting dissociation, will allow unawareness. Through unawareness, any evil deeds can be done
  23. I'm not any expert on spiral dynamics, but you can acknowledge both thoughts while yellow for sure. There is a lack of need for defending a stance in yellow. You aren't as interested in it as before. You are going bonkers if you think you need to defend one or the other, or come to dumb and impulsive conclusions about the other being right. If this is not the case, you are fine thinking both thoughts to be valid in their own sense
