  1. I think you should stop your meditation practice immediately. And if you hear it again, go to a psychiatrist.
  2. I think you are being neurotic...
  3. @Ayilton Follow the pictures from bottom to top.
  4. @ajasatya ? Have you seen Leo’s video on this topic? It’s one of my personal favorites. He gives the answer to your question in that video. Btw - this topic is in the wrong section. You should have posted in “Self-Actualization” @Key Elements
  5. “The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it Intuition or what you will, the solution comes to you and you don't know how or why.” — Albert Einstein
  6. I agree with @ajasatya and @RichardY You don't necessarily have to talk about suicide, but just your presence is enough.
  7. I can't mention only one video... Here's my Top 12 (roughly in order): 1- Removing Should Statements First time I saw this video I felt a big weight off my shoulders, and I had a taste of how (infinitely) free reality is. 2- The Theme of Going Full-Circle The many examples he gave in this video shows that counterintutiveness is a real thing. Btw, I think there should be a megathread on examples of going full circle. 3- 40 Signs You Are Neurotic Neurosis is my number 1 enemy, so very important video. 4- Masculinity Vs Femininity I can't understand why this isn't taught in schools. So useful... 5- 10 Important Things You Don't Know That You Want Reconnecting with being. I think to truly grasp how awesome this episode is, you should try psychedelics. 6- How To Deal With Strong Negative Emotions Love the superconductor concept 7-Awareness Alone is Curative Thoughts cannot deeply change other thoughts, only awareness can 8- How To Stop Caring What Others Think of You I can relate to Leo's personal story related to people-pleasing 9- Curing Perfectionism Differentiating "maximizer vs satisfier" has helped me a lot drop my perfectionism. (Even though right now I am being a pretty maximizer making this list lol) 10- The Role of Balance is Personal Development Balance is a fluid thing. Just like riding a bike... 11- Spiral Dynamics Series Yes, it's just a model, but it is actually very useful for understanding people, nations, myself, etc 12- Multiperspective I don't remember what this video was actually called, but it was posted on the blog. It was about the benefits/downsides of studying lots of perspectives. Wow... Making this list made me realized that I learned a lot cool things from Leo...
  8. Breath-work. The breathing becomes very shallow and constricted during panic attacks, so practicing breathing exercises can help. Especially abdominal breath.
  9. You have to be more specific if you want good advice. Can you explain more about the family issue you're going through? One thing is for sure, it's no use trying to "balance your chakras", if there is a big problem going on in your life. But anyway, the heart chakra deals with love and is blocked by grief/loss/abandonment. And the root chakra deals with survival and is blocked by fear.
  10. Definitely! My life purpose "was revealed" to me during a psychedelic retreat. I didn't ask for it... it simply came to me. It was extraordinary!

  12. I have seen many times people in “spiritual” places who actually need psychiatric help. Ayahuasca ceremonies, evangelical churches, etc. I have seen reports of that even in Vipassana retreats. Spiritual awakening is very easy to be confused with mental-illness. And it’s sad how those people get in a way disregarded in those places. For example, I have seen time and time again someone having a psychotic break on ayahuasca, and a pseudo-shaman saying: “Oh, you know what, you got evil spirits inside you.” Yes, sometimes it’s just the ego resisting, but not always. Regarding the sexual allegations, Brazil’s most famous guru, Prem Baba, who had the same guru as Mooji, is being accused of the same thing. In one case, it’s said a couple came to him as an attempt to save their marriage. In a private session with the woman, he offered tantric exercises, but then that evolved into sex.
  13. "Religion is for people who're afraid of going to hell. Spirituality is for those who've already been there.” ― Vine Deloria Jr. (btw, great quotes @Strikr)
  14. +1 Investigate the underlying conditions of why you choose to play video-games so much. You have to change from the inside out. It's no use just seeing the symptoms, you should solve the causes of your addiction. Otherwise, even if you stop doing the behavior, the addiction will continue but to a different thing (such as porn, drugs, eating, etc.)
  15. Yes The term "Radical honesty" can cause a lot misunderstanding. One of them is that it does not mean you have to start telling your dark secrets all at once. It's a step-by-step process of practicing vulnerability. And to do so, it requires mutual trust. If you are just meeting a woman, for example, it would be a mistake to talk about the problems you have mentioned. Yes... they exist, but a better alternative is to share those difficult aspects of your life in homeopathic dosages and as you build intimacy with the girl. In the past, I fell into the trap of "becoming a martyr." I wanted to be completely honest all the time, regardless of the consequences. Long story short, it caused a lot of suffering. My advice for you: be easy on yourself.
  16. How was their reaction? if the person is not receptive, sharing something like that can cause a big backlash... Good!
  17. Have you already sent that letter? If not, I would encourage you to reflect upon this question: Is it really necessary to tell them? Another question: Is this fetiche causing you distress? The basic advice for sexual fantasies is to not repress them. That does not mean you should act upon every desire. Instead, just let them pass...
  18. Anywhere that is "spiritual" will probably be a good place to meet cool people. For example, at a yoga studio. In my case, I live in Brazil, and I met two great friends at ayahuasca ceremonies. I have been there... It awful to feel like no one understands you... People who haven't been in hell do not understand when you talk about it. As soon as you find someone who has gone through it, you'll probably immediately connect with that person. You two will understand each other... I hope things get better for you!
  19. Authentic personality, and also she should not be the center of your life. So having a strong life purpose is also a good call.
  20. Do you have a support network? (a group of people who provide emotional and practical help when you're in difficulty) You think you're going through an ego relapse because you got angry at the bank? You can only be "without your mind" when you die. Sorry to break it to you. But, sure, you can train the mind to become your ally.
  21. Cool! I haven't read any books from those sections yet. Thanks for telling! Yea... some people are so cheap that they don't even invest 35-fucking-dollars on personal development.
