  1. Apparently the number of Rolls Royces one owns, determines the level of enlightenment one's at. That puts me at a well-below-ignorant level.
  2. Apparently this method increases height quite well:
  3. For those who may be contemplating taking 5-MeO for the first time, please have a responsible sitter with you. Someone who can take your hand and walk with you through the gates of hell, and who also knows how to take care of your body if your heart or lungs stop working. And please beware of any advice on dosage posted on the net - e.g., a 70mg 5-MeO dose is asking for real trouble. TAKE CARE.
  4. The trouble with SETI is that we are searching for a very narrow definition of intelligence, in a vast space & time. Just 200 years ago, we would have been searching for smoke signals, up to then the main form of long-distance communication. Now we are searching the radio wave spectrum, a technology which is almost obsolete. Looking for signs of this 100-year narrow window of technology in a 14-billion year old universe is like looking for a microscopic needle in a massive haystack. Then there is our very narrow definition of intelligence. How about trees which communicate with each other through complex chemical signals, or plants which manipulate insects through complex biochemistry, is that intelligence alien enough? We'll never find aliens, because the aliens are us.
  5. Jason Silva always has so much passion in his speech... Could have something to do with his Latino background, or his name. Something tells me Jason has had an awakening in the past year or so.
  6. Cowards die many times before their deaths. The valiant never taste of death but once. Of all the wonders that I yet have heard, It seems to me most strange that men should fear, Seeing that death, a necessary end, Will come when it will come. - William Shakespeare, "Julius Caesar", Act 2 scene 2
  7. @username death fearlessness is not synonymous with awareness or enlightenment. For every Thich Quang Duc... ... there are countless of mostly irrational people who take their own lives, and do so without any fear. Do you really need to be enlightened to sleep at night? Death just happens to be a similarly natural process of life. The real fear comes from the unknown, specifically with regards to the potential suffering for yourself and others. Death fearlessness is really about accepting the inevitable. There is no real reason to either seek or fear death. When death finally calls, enlightenment is not necessary to accept it.
  8. Revisit and share with us the biggest concerns in your life. My past fears: Uncertainty, poverty, loneliness, acceptance, loss of freedom, failure, pain, death. Current fears: An unfulfilled life, eventual loss of loved ones, eventual degradation and loss of mind.
  9. @electroBeam no fear of death and enlightenment may not necessarily be the same. Note also that pain and death are two different experiences. A painful death is something to be truly feared.
  10. @carlos flores c'mon, let's not make fun of the poor man's unfortunate skin color...
  11. @MsNobody gave us her serious personal views on a significant question. @username even if you happen to be on intimate terms with @MsNobody , that doesn't necessarily give you the right to belittle or disparage her point of view, specially in an open public forum. Adding a smiley to the end of your comment doesn't make it appear any less vacuous or controlling.
  12. Materialism and environmental destruction is rampant in Asia, but there are still pockets of sanity here and there. Bhutan with their "Gross National Happiness" metric (instead of GDP) is the exception in Asia. Nepal would be too, if it hadn't been invaded and decimated by China while the world stood by and did nothing.
  13. That's ah, Jeremy Irons. I think that pic was taken just after he gained some weight, for the Raging Bull classic film.
  14. @Revolutionary Think , you could well be describing Scientology.
  15. At this time Asia needs to experience the materialistic path (like Western culture has before it), before realizing that it leads to suffering and pain. That is how the consciousness pendulum appears to swing - there's a need to suffer enough first, before seeking and experiencing relief through an alternative path.
  16. The age of subtraction has begun to unfold On the surface, it appears to me that the only subtraction going on there is happening in your wallet...
  17. I think he does better with females. Besides, I don't particularly look forward to being vomited on. Please tell me it's my overactive imagination, and there isn't some subtle hidden sexual repression going on there...
  18. Placing trivial life challenges aside, I'd like to be part of a 5-MeO retreat. In a safe location, hosted and guided by a Mr Leo Gura. Please.
