  1. @Leo Gura i miss being notified when someone quotes my words or does @ajasatya.
  2. this was just too good
  3. yes. ancient seekers used to travel miles and miles to find their yoga teachers.
  4. @Charlotte there will be pain. trust your body.
  5. @BobbyLowell take care of your physical and mental health. exercise, meditate and eat healthily.
  6. @Max_V be aware of what lives through the body, for it's the highest mystery. "it" lives through all bodies at the same time. and even though i say "body" and "it", "body" is actually part of "it". many names have been used. particularly, i like "holy spirit". the holy spirit contemplates itself and has no clue. this is why it's the highest mystery. it can't be known. existential awe and existential crisis are two sides of the same coin. the higher the mystery, the higher the thirst for comprehension. and this thirst is the primal engine of Reality, otherwise we wouldn't exist as instruments of contemplation. your thirst is helpless for enlightenment doesn't satisfy the mind. so this is the big leap of humility accept your ignorance this moment can't be grasped be in awe, as Primarily intended my son, my brother and my father, give up already melt away now no words are needed now
  7. @Mount Bananas @Ilya koho shoda
  8. @Mount Bananas what about those touching paintings from enlightened zen guys?
  9. @RawJudah become 'friend'less and make a real friend: yourself. let go. face the loneliness that you already feel.
  10. @Max_V hello. nobody can tell you what you have to master. but i can tell you what i want to master and why. i want to master the practices of agroforestry because i can manage the production of my own food and heal the planet earth at the same time. my advice is: try a lot of stuff. get into new things with the beginner's mind. remember how you were when you got in touch with counter strike for the first time. what were you looking for exactly?
  11. @Enachescu Dragos don't create an artificial context. instead, get closer and closer. build trust, then build intimacy. slowly. you don't even have to say anything. there's no need for those romantic "i like you"/"i love you" moments. those are just fantasy. a few seconds of silence and deep eye contact is way deeper than any amount of cheesy "i love you" stories.
  12. @kieranperez yoga is not about being athletic. yoga was designed to reach deep enough to release your blocked emotions. it's a healing tool. you want explanations before you actually try it out. go and have your first hand experience.
  13. because living systems naturally work against the growth of entropy until they die. there are hard coded reward systems related to strengthening the belief in a self. thus pride, consumerism, greed, gluttony, avarice and other egoic addictions feel good almost instantly, but soon enough the system is dominated by a deep and awkward feeling of emptiness. that feeling of emptiness is Truth ITself knocking on one's door, because there is no self. it doesn't matter how hard we try to fill intrinsic emptiness with illusions... it just can't be done.
  14. very good. amazing idea for a game.
  15. i am holding a cat with my left hand and a knife with my right hand. tell me a zen word or i'll cut the cat's throat!
  16. stuck from enlightenment because you seemed to be advocating for the scientific method as if it could fill the gaps exposed by leo
  17. that is correct. there's nothing wrong with science. it just won't take you to the ultimate realization of who you are.
  18. i am a mathematician and a data scientist yes, the scientific method is about beliefs. not the usual beliefs that we hear everyday like "the apple falls because red things are repelled by the sky". but the belief that the falling speed of an object can be predicted by the formula v = sqrt(2gh), which in fact is just a sufficiently good approximation for speeds that are way lower than the speed of light. and then science evolves. we find a new formula. we become more precise. we find better models. but we will never achieve Truth through models. if you're still afraid of acknowledging your brutal ignorance (you're not special... we're all brutally ignorant), check out gödel's incompleteness theorem.
  19. @BjarkeT you'll be stuck forever unless you bring your deepest anguish into play. the scientific method is about testing the limits of hypotheses, which are beliefs about the way that Reality works. it's intrinsically impossible to reach Truth with science because of the way that science works. science is about finding mathematical models that seem to simulate Reality sufficiently well in specific contexts, with deeply practical goals (super computers, cars and efficient engineering in general). scientists that actually know their shit are very clear about all this. as theoretical as a scientist can be, he can't describe what the ultimate substance of Reality is with equations. he can describe its behavior, but not what it is. it's just that lay people (with weak academic background) think that science is something that it's not.
  20. i heard from a nutrition specialist that even though they are rich in iron, they block the iron absorption by the red blood cell. i don't understand why. i just felt anemic (before asking for professional help, so it was not placebo effect)
