there's been enough suffering for this cycle already @Anna1 it's not an assumption. it's just what i observe from every master that i've ever heard about. they've all gone through immense suffering. from breakups/failed marriages to deaths of close friends to severe lack of self-love... you name it. deep suffering is a pattern that i can see very clearly. when i joined daissen-ji (a zen sangha), i did notice that every member had fucked up episodes in their lives and all of them started practicing meditation for healing purposes (including me). it's not necessary to live in india or north korea or switzerland or alaska. a shocking event can happen anywhere. i am brazilian and my ex girlfriend tried to hang me to death, which was just enough for my world to break down (thank god hahaha).

i agree. very feel people are blessed with the huge amount of true emotional suffering that's needed. most people are just seeking some kind of external approval through kindness and/or intellectuality.

you're a phenomenom of the universe, just like a flower, a river or a car. you're the universe itself manifesting as a person. so am i and all of us. i type, you read. the universe types and the universe reads. oneness = the Truth that everything is a manifestation of the same Mystery.

dude... too much already. why so much effort applied to talk about other people's lives? intellectual pride? -
ajasatya replied to Gummybear's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Gummybear you're still trapped in thoughts crossfires. pretty sneaky monkey mind, huh? you clearly don't know what you're talking about when you say "emptiness". the mystical nature of Reality does not imply nihilism. actually, it's very much the opposite! the miraculous mystery of this eternal NOW calls for the deepest appreciation! -
people change at their own pace and nobody is better nor worse than anyone. give up on desiring him to be someone else. who do you love, him or your mental toy (your projections onto him)? instead of craving for the perfect match, focus on your own growth. also, perfect matches are boring. that's how consumerism intoxicates people.

@tashawoodfall it seems like you'd be in trouble with ANY partner. if your own presence is not enough for you, literally nothing in this world will be.

truth only exists within logical systems, which are built upon convenient axioms. thus, truth is relative to its context of definitions. the Truth that spiritual seekers talk about is different, though. it does not depend on logical systems so it cannot be expressed with symbols. it can't even be thought! the Truth that spiritual seekers desire is the raw answer to the most fundamental sort of questions: what is this moment right now? how does Reality come to be? what exactly is reading these words right now? -
@CreamCat you're displaying the traits of a healed person. fly free, young bird!
-
@Tom Daniel D you can't force people to be responsible for their physical/mental/emotional health. the best thing you can do is live fully healthy. then, maybe, you will be able to inspire others.

being able to talk to people, regardless of their genders, is a facet of freedom itself. the thought of "i can't" and the feeling of shame are toxic.
-
as crucial as freedom
-
@Nadosa practice never stops. you've hit the limit of intellectualization. logic can't take you any further. there is existence and that's it. it's an unsolvable mystery. it's an unstoppable mystery. the universe screams i don't know... i simply am through each of us. embrace reality already. embrace your life. embrace it ALL. have an awesome experience. amaze yourself.

WHAT exactly possesses memories? -
there's nothing wrong with that. those who enter a poker game should be ready to lose it all. it's an agreement. you're not taking money from anyone without their consent. but i want to leave you with these questions: does playing poker give you the feeling of being a contributor to mankind? what are your mental efforts being used for other than making some money? can you reach a higher vision for your Life?

@fireworld this moment right now is happening after death. ask yourself: what dies? -
ajasatya replied to PsiloPutty's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@PsiloPutty fully enlightened people see religions as methods. some of them work and some of them don't. the religion that i'd teach would certainly be the religion that worked for me. it's not a matter of beliefs. it's a matter of practice and proficiency. the true buddhist doesn't believe the words of the buddha. the true buddhist lives the life of a buddha. same for christians, krishna devotees etc. -
once a week. twice MAX. creative energy is expensive for the body. use it wisely.

@Santhiphap great idea. another technique is simply counting exhalations and coming back to 1 after reaching 10. -
what do you want to be doing for living after your parents die? ask yourself deeply
-
i think you're still to find your passion... something that you really enjoy doing alone and that brings prosperity to your life.

@ctzonka be fully happy alone first. people fear neediness because it drains them. vampires are dangerous. get away from them and don't be one of them.

if you want to become a full time yogi, do it now. stop running away.
